Overemphasis on dumb mini-games where half are fine, but the other half are annoying and not fun to play at all. Also certain abilities that are essential shouldn't have to be unlocked.

It's littered with many.
Really unstable framerate.
Kinda awkward controls.
Unite morph can be really janky at time when you're doing certain scripted sequences (such as the arrow in the boss fight with lambo).
secret missions aren't really implemented well, it's mostly just "backtrack here once you get to this point and you might find something."

But other than that, it's still an amazing game. The production quality really stands out, the voice acting, the cutscenes and the music are all fantastic.

Having to unlock Stinger for EVERY UNITE MORPH was absolutely awful.

Pretty much any section that is not focused on the regular combat.
The worst offenders are the shooting section in 6-B and the flying section in the final mission.

I thought the isometric scrolling shooter stage was kind of bullshit. You're such a huge hitbox and you have so little room to maneuver.

It was pretty fucking weeb. Cringe dialogue, models, characters. Granted before playing it the last jrpg I played was DQ Monsters back in the 90s.

Only bad dialogue was anything relating to Tatsu. The game as a whole was very blatantly going for a western aesthetic.

Weird game mechanics that go mostly unexplained.
Some inconsistent situations.
Gamepad sections.
Whip and hammer are very situational and not very useful.
Extra missions need to be played on every difficulty for achievements.
Standard Kamiya bullshit, but even worse than usual.
Shooting sections in particular go on for about 3x as long as they should.

Controls like shit, sometimes restrooms just don't work, Luka getting away with everything, gamepad bullshit, Pink's character is awful.
