I have a fairly athletic build leaning on the skinny side, and when I was in the hospital for a few weeks they gave me compression stockings and blood thinners to avoid a clot. Partially because blood clots are an inherent risk of spending all day in a hospital bed, partially for other reasons. Point is, there are many risk factors for blood clots that are completely unrelated to obesity.

Being in hospital all day is a pretty good risk factor, dude. People aren't designed to lie on their backs all day.

There are certain types of acute massive PE which cause sudden death, without the patient even having a chance to experience any symptoms and being taken to an ER.

Given the fact that the cause of his death was released two days after it happened, which was then called "sudden illness", I'm assuming he actually did drop dead and they only figured out why after an autopsy was carried out and they found the clot blocking his artery.

I'm sure if his death wasn't sudden and he coughed up blood everywhere before suffocating to death, they would have made awareness campaigns by now against DVT and its associated risks with PE and the lifestyle of professional gamers.

Also note that the body mostly recovers from training (i.e. builds muscle, removes fat) during sleep. If you're a chronic short sleeper and you start sleeping 8hrs per night you will start to feel immeasurably better.
