All the ones that still feel like their X and XX incarnations: of the top of my head thats Sol, May, Johnny, Jam, I-no, Dizzy and Slayer. Even Milia is okay.

Ky would be one who changed too much, but that goes back to Guilty Gear 2, since he marrid Dizzy. It was a plot chocie that I understood but still dislike. I udnerstand that Ky's Xrd design continues from that mold, but I guess I miss the original Ky, when he was still naive and pure.

She didn't come in very high on the popularity poll, other veterans have already been referenced in Xrd's story like Robo-Ky and Anji, they've been adding new characters along with returning ones, and it doesn't even look like we're getting another Xrd revision anyway.

I guess you're right - the long hair was the big change for me, and that goes back to GG 2, when he had the longer hair as king.

Elphelt's my least favourite newcomer personally, I don't hate her or anything, but she never interested be enough for me to even consider playing her. Answer is the best one in my eyes followed by Bedman. I like Ramlethal's design but abhor how she plays.

I'm of two minds about Danger Time, it's obviously a pretty ridiculous mechanic and its randomness makes it not feel well suited to a competitive game, but at the same time, I would be lying if I said that I don't think it's a fun mechanic. Even of it may feel unfair in a way when someone gets the advantage from it, I always find it to he an exciting moment when DT is activated, it's tense because of how much more threatening being hit with anything becomes. I wouldn't be upset to see it go, but I think what would be ideal to me is just to have some consistency to it rather than it being a random clash that sets it off. Maybe they could have a hidden meter or something that rises with each clash, but it would ensure that the second of two HS's clashing, or two P's and an S clashing will always activate Danger Time or something like that.

Haven't played Uni, but here's ABA's deal
She starts in normal mode : very slow, hop instead of dash, weak.
Using one of three blood packs OR landing her hit-grab that can be comboed into (point blank its unblockable so basically a command throw) puts her into Moroha mode.
Moroha mode : very fast, hits hard, gets some different specials. Any hit that connects saps her health. Using her throw or a blood pack reverts her to normal mode and restores lost health.
But getting knocked down 3 times reverts you to normal with no health regen, and can get you IKed fairly easily.
She's fucking awesome.

I'm sure they will, but it won't be before Anji, Robo-Ky and Zappa, and obviously they'll be adding in new characters as well. I wouldn't expect to see her in the next game, but I can see her being in the revision of that next game. Personally I'm looking forward to Zappa coming back the most out of all the XX characters though, so I'm glad that it looks like he has a decent chance of being in the next game.

Johnny's good, but he's not that good. You typically only see one Johnny in the top 8s of a lot of big tournaments and that one Johnny is always played by Omito, he's the reason Johnny has a lot of success at tournaments moreso than the actual character. Not to say he isn't good, but if Johnny were half as good as you're making him out to be he would regularly be one of the only characters in the top 8 at tournaments, but there's usually only one, or maybe two Johnnys. There wasn't even one Johnny at EVO Japan this year, it was Leo, Kum, Ky, Chipp, Venom, Faust, Raven and Jam. If Johnny were really 2 tiers above everyone else then a Johnny player would have made it into that top 8 for sure, probably more than one for that matter, but no Johnny players made it there and it isn't a coincidence that Omito wasn't playing in that tournament either.

To be able to have eight different characters like that in the top 8 is a sign of the game having good balance, which it does have, it's not perfectly balanced of course, but it is well balanced.

At one point Guilty Gear Xrd 2 was the best fighting game available. Right after they released Dizzy and the balance patch a few months after that was the absolute peak. After that it was a slow but sure decline.

Some characters have extremely simple and short combos, Baiken is a good example, most of them are just baiting for a Tatami or Kabari to put the enemy airborne and then just c.S>j.S>j.D, sometimes you have counter-specific combos like counter Rokkonsogi>2HS>236K>j.S>j.D but it's far from the complexity of characters like Jam who has a fuckton of character-specific combos.
