The newest version has the most vanilla content. All the mods are still for older versions. People complain about the hunger mechanic, but you can pretty much cheat it out of existence if you want. It's a non-issue. Technics launcher classic pack is one of my fav modpacks.

Depends what you play on. Pc feels the best and has lots more than console obviously. Although with console you get a nice big screen to play on the control is sorta wonky but eventually you get used to it.
