If you just want to blast through the "campaign" so you can say you played it already then just quit now and don't bother because the appeal of a game like Bayonetta is to play it multiple times and getting really familiar with the combat mechanics.

aight, i wasn't really enjoying the combat mechanics so far so i'll just watch the cutscenes instead so i can pretend i'm interested in the game for my friend. so far my biggest problem with the combat is that even when doing combos and the fun little torture attacks, none of the moves feel really meaty, strong, or doing much damage. witch time is an ok mechanic though desu

Bayonetta 1 is excellent. It's got some quirks that might put you off (like the instant death QTEs and shooting sections) but the meat and potatoes of the game are fantastic. It's got a metric fuck ton of unlockable content and excellent music. You've gotta learn the Offset system, and this is a flaw with the game because it doesn't really tell you that you need to learn it nor does it give any sort of tutorial for it. Look it up on Youtube, it makes playing the game feel great and higher difficulties will test your mastery of it. It gets a bad wrap on Yea Forums because most people here expected a carbon copy of their favorite DMC game and got shit stomped into Stone Trophies, so that means the game is bad.

Bayo's QTEs are all front loaded into the first three chapters, after they are they sparse to non existent.

Remember that they also lost their original CEO at that time. They have a new CEO now but as a founder and one of the most senior original staff, Kamiya stepped into a more supervisory role because that’s where he was needed. Time spent directing games and picking fights with Sega execs is time not spent helping steer the ship.

I actually believe that’s part of the problem with Scalebound; it fell apart because Kamiya couldn’t give it his full attention, but the project didn’t have anyone else at the helm without him.

Bayo 1 is one of the best action games ever, enemy design is phenomenal barring a few that are genuinely terrible, bayonetta herself is extremely responsive and mobile which is always a big plus for me, tons of cool weapons and unlockables and one of the funnest DMDesque difficulty modes in vidya.
