There's no grind until you reach the level cap, and even then it's only for the hard mode content. Anyone just now picking up the game will more than enjoy the super streamlined Level 1 to 95 scenario quests and zones.

Hell mode is hardly a thing anymore since Harlem legendaries/epics came out. The only thing you're grinding now is doing dailies for a few months to get your full epic set so you can then grind raids for the next level set.

The muscle shift cancel thing? I recently picked my FStriker back up and apparently you only have to cancel once to get the full bonus. All of her skill animations seem to have gotten shorter so canceling seems a little harder to do without using hotkeys, it would probably be infuriating to need 5x cancels for optimal damage like before.

I have a capped Majesty using Bludeon Mastery and while she is good, spamming Illusion Sword while using Flash and Arcane Sword Blast on cooldown is not "fun", just busy work.
At least F.Ranger has fun AOE, with Gun Dance and Death Hawk being the coolest skills in the game.

No matter when you start, taking a character from 1 to endgame gear is a multimonth investment (unless you're a fucking pig lucker that needs to die) and the game is made to play multiple classes so you will be doing that multiple times. In the past we got an event called jumper that let you put your fut in the door with some free ebins, so if that ever comes back you should create a character there and then and make it your main. But I doubt it will come back.

Servers are the same I think, just play on cain for ease.

The game is built around people making completely fresh characters and grinding them up to have anything to do, so you won't really feel out of place when you hit the endgame. And you'll hit it fairly quick since they streamlined leveling so much.

Depends on what you mean by "catch up".
It takes maybe 3 days or so to cap if you know what your doing. Getting geared is the hard part, depending on your class could take a while to get.

there are a shit ton of classes so there will be something you like, with male or female version having little changes(Gunner), decent amount of changes(Fighter) or almost completely different(Mage, Priest, Slayer).

To start, I recommend a Female Fighter or Male Slayer, as they are all pretty easy to use, and have a good class to make oney with and start gearing (Grappler for Fighter, Asura for Slayer)

Don't make a gunner first, as they are the most expensive to gear and will take you a long time. Also do not make a Dark Knight or Creator as they are weird gimmick classes that dont represent the whole game and have limitations.

My personal Favorites are F.Ranger and M.Striker, but your mileage may vary.

She was never the town bicycle, that was always Sharan. She's definitely not one now that they moved Vetala to an alternate dimension.

F Grappler is not that fun to play once you stop one-shotting basic mobs with your throws and now you're running around basic attacking waiting for your skills to come off cool down.

Oh, it seems like everyone forgot the objectively best part of the 2D beatemup DFO is. Like most MMOs, you get a hotbar and can press hotbar [key] to activate [skill]. HOWEVER, the skill menu also has a system where you can bind skills to a direction input+the basic attack [X]/special attack [Z]/spacebar/jump [C] keys.

So instead of being a chump faggot face rolling your hotbar you can be a FUCKING LEGEND and execute your own custom specials. It also gives you a negligible CD and MP cost reduction when you do this.

Fun fact. Small and large is actually a stylistic design choice. When you have large on large is just makes things look uniform and uninteresting. Rather than looking like a large weapon and a large dude it just looks like you fucked up your proportions. By pushing the scale of the weapon and the scale of the girl you empathize the size of the weapon which is typically the point. The gun is supposed to by ridiculously huge and by contrasting it with her smaller frame it pushes that feeling even more.

It's because the gear grind is the whole endgame and they've hit the reset button on the plot like 3 times now, so instead of grinding for levels they just made that easy instead. You unlock every skill through leveling up and your class advancements pretty much. And you get so much SP it's mostly about what skills you want to max and what you would rather keep at 1 (if at all) for the utility of having it.
By the way, despite being an MMO, you'll probably be flying solo for the most part because of Scenario Dungeons, unless you want to level with a friend along the way or something.

For anyone considering playing, don't. It's dead as dirt. There's several good reasons for it

FP: You're limited on how much you can play one character each day. The solution is to have multiple characters and it's not a problem during end game, but this alone drove off all new players. What gamer in this fucking day and age is going to tolerate being given a play time limit?

Dailies: Everything is locked behind dailies. It will take months to get any decent set, and hell mode (where the most rare items drop) has an extremely low drop rate of anything dropping, if the drop doesn't fit your exact class it has to be converted into currency (can't be transferred to the proper class on your account). Due to the currency required to enter hell mode being so rare and purchasable with gold earned from trading cash shop items, this essentially makes it necessary to buy and sell cash shop items to gear up in any reasonable amount of time.

Drops: This game is like a 2D diablo, except items don't drop, ever. The reason for drop rates being abysmally low is because it was designed with an auction house hosting a huge playerbase that's constantly trading and competing on prices. The model falls flat entirely when your playerbase consists of 2000-3000 players daily. The prices are astronomical and the supply and demand is completely skewed.

I can go on but that's the gist of it and I don't think anyone really cares enough to hear the rest

Cosmetics: There are stats tied to cash shop items. They're not insignificant either. The titles in particular that grant +2 and +3 levels on a signature class skill are actually game changing and shave off a lot of time on dungeon runs. The catch of course, is that those are hidden in $30 bundles and are RNG. You can get any amount of useless skill +1s, essentially leading it to be a gacha game if you want a competitive character. It's not realistic to buy those kind of items with in game earned gold, you have to buy and sell cash shop items or resort to the gold bots which most people do because of how unfair it can seem.

Balancing: They have a huge rebalance patch every other update it seems like. Classes are often balanced around epic sets which 90% of the playerbase will never touch so it's always awkward seeing damage differences between certain classes, and alot are left in the dirt.

iirc Ghent raid was supposed to be a tutorial raid that pretty much had mechanics from other raids in it (for example, there's a tank that is pretty much Tog). It was conceptualized back when Anton was still a raid but has never actually been released despite some it being in the game's files
