It's not though. The game itself is a slog. The races feel slow and half of the items are trash, the other half are copied directly from Mario kart. I bought the game thinking it would be great to play with friends, going local coop you can hardly see what's going on. The camera focuses on outside of the track, not the track itself

I enjoy it. I feel like it had a better single player than CTR did in terms of content but CTR has more stages. Also one thing I liked about TSR over other racers is that all of the items can be avoided by pure skill as (outside of lightning) there are no automatic hit items, even the game's version of red shells can be dodged without the need of an item. I really wish the online for TSR wasn't dead as that's kind of the thing that's stopping me from playing it more often. Both TSR and CTR have their positives and negatives and are both very solid racing games that are leagues better than Mario Kart.

- removing all the uniqueness from other Sega franchises
- a barebones character roster (considering Sonic's vast list of characters), with some questionable choices
- not only there is only 7 course themes, almost half of courses are reused from past titles
- the new team mechanic is stupid. i don't want to rely on the CPU to function in order to win a race, or having the need to play with my friends/outsiders all the time

It's like expecting a new Melee, or for a Pokemon game to hit gen4/5 levels again, or every character to come back in Soul Calibur, and then getting something even faster and more full of content than ever and basically getting everything perfectly right. Switch fag here, though my internet is shit, the online experience has been fairly consistent. The game doesn't run on servers as far as I'm aware, instead peer to peer, so its based on where you are I assume. Depending on what your expecting from the game will form your opinion. If youre looking for a casual kart racer like MK8, its good for that, if youre looking to relive the original with online capabilities, you might be left wanting. There are no ranks, so you'll be put with shitters and pros in the same match, if you're any good, the item balance can get annoying sometimes. They seem to be trying to tweek the item balance, every so often youll be asked if you enjoyed the last match. Some sort of ranked/no items mode could be added in the future? But no one has said anything about it. Overall I have been really enjoying it, and I am also loving the new grand prix, even if at first it was a bit of a grind to ensure I was in the top 5%.

You will also learn almost every shortcut in the game if you do the ctr challenges, relic races and Oxide ghosts.

however, you can still get good by beating n tropy ghost in time trial and oxyde if you dare, also don't be ashamed to watch videos to learn U turn and air breaking, consume all the the informative media you can about the game and dont be afraid to ask in these threads about advice

That track isn't that hard to keep the boost on. You're going fast, but the curves are gentle so it's not that tough to get around it. After you have a feel for the drifting and know the track layout, you'll be able to do that after a bit of practice. I think this is a pretty rewarding game in that sense, the techniques aren't actually that tough to pull off, but they're very satisfying to do

i meant, he has n tropy with the digital skin, so of course he's been playing for years, n tropy is also a speed character which is super hard to handle if you dont know U turn
deep sea driving yes, its the easiest track to keep USF going for a full lap, you can nail it with very little practice in time trial if you use a turning character

I have that skin too, and I hadn't played this in ages. I mainly just played as a kid and then once or twice along the years on an emulator. Never knew any of those advanced tricks. I got this when it came out and after some practice I started getting better with the boosting. I think I beat all the Oxide ghosts after I had played for around two weeks, though I didn't want to do time trials back when the save corruption bug still existed. The boost system works very differently now either way, so you still have to learn to get through the tracks in a new way even if you were really good at the original

It's more of a pseudo sequel, or an in between like game, it's better than the first All Stars Racing but not Transformed. With a better roster and track amount/variety, it could be much better than it is, and for what it is, it's fine but could be better

TSR does lack the alternate modes from Transformed, so if you wanted a game with only the car mode again, it has it
