Sure you can make anything look bad if you just list the character's main trait. My point is characters like "redneck racist" were actually surprisingly well written and had some depth to their personalities. Lester wasn't actually even a racist once you learned more about him, just poor and kinda ignorant. On Family Guy I find the "this character is one trait and has nothing going on beyond that" to be way more true. Also I don't really think almost anyone on Family Guy is actually a nice person, everyone feels like a dick or bitch or some level of sociopath, Cleveland Show has many characters who are mostly nice.
