They have to have a major mode that must have taken more time. With 3.0 we got stage builder, which probably took way more time then Joker. While Homerun contest seems like it could easily come back, it doesn't seem like it would take much time to implement. What other mode could you imagine taking up this kind of time? Co-op world of light? Custom mini games, like Break the Targets, Board the Platforms and Race to the Finish?

Only Dragon Quest games i've played is the first Warriors game, Rocket Slime, and 7 so i'm not sure which i'll pick.

That is the winter solstice, can't count that as Fall. It's also a Saturday and they don't do releases then. It's going to be on a Wednesday. So Dec 18th is the latest they could do and still be counted as Fall.

There could be a number of reasons. 4 and 5 might be related to each other and they could be released as a pair at the same time. Let's say that it's Dante and Vergil, it would seem silly to release them months apart.

Or they could simply be released a month apart and the only reason the other three took a while is because they wanted a major mode to back the update, but the final characters don't really need anything else. Christmas will have come and gone, the final real big push for those that still haven't got Smash has already happened. They don't need a big update at that point to incentivize people to play. 4 can be January and 5 Feb without any real fuss.
