Elves would be terrible archers, though. Archery requires a ton of strength, so they could only use very light bows that wouldn't be very useful against armor of any kind. They'd be much better off with a longsword where strength wasn't as necessary.
And they probably would prefer to avoid combat at all costs, given that they have such a long lifespan and such a low reproductive rate.

Everything besides their big ass dragons and bowmen sucks. Cavalry is bad, most of their infantry are bowmen hybrids that also suck, other flying creatures are just a minor nuisance for the enemy, they have one siege weapon that also sucks...
They are really, really difficult to play effectively.
