yeah, I wouldn't trust modern SE to make a competent sequel either. But twewy was a lightning in the bottle anomaly even back then so it's even more likely to fail than ever.

Twewy was best played on double screens, so they'd have to revamp the battle system completey if they wanted to put it on a console like the switch.

After seeing their idea of a follow up story with A New Day, I don't think I want a TWEWY 2 anymore.

Idk about a sequel confirmation but it is likely we'll see a Shibuya world in the next KH. Wouldn't mind, it would be a neat change of pace from the usual Disney and original worlds.

I remember combining the icicle pins with chains to juggle Noise for days. I also loved summoning that electric orb that circled around you and hit anything that comes near.

Over the Top set combined with three boulder pins. It was fun to just tap and summon a full on rock slide on anything that looked at me funny.

Egg Bomb combined with Psychokinesis pins. Nothing beats throwing exploding cars at elephants.

Man, I loved TWEWY. It’s actually amazing just how great of a game it turned out to be considering how it came from modern Square of all companies.

Just got to week 3 on the Switch version, can't believe I didn't try playing solo co-op sooner. It's kind of a mess, but this game has always been a glorious mess of action and it's definitely better than just playing straight solo. Still not as great as the original gameplay, but the new music and graphics make up for it.

DS version for sure. The combat is much more unique and challenging there.

Plays much better on DS. None of the bonus content on Switch is really worth the worse controls aside from the soundtrack being better because it's not coming out of a DS.

The only way I would want a sequel is if it is a story about entirely different people. I liked the original cast, but their story is done. I always hate it when people feel the need to drag characters out after the end of their story.

I'm still on week 3 in the Switch port but apparently it suggests the next game will still be in Shibuya and involve Neku and Minamimoto? If so its pretty disappointing but I'll still look forward to it at the end of the day.

I’d just settle on getting the Fusion boosts for the partners in the main game. You can get the rest of the stat increasing stickers in the post game. As for Neku, definitely focus on getting the extra pin slots. These will make things much easier for you in the long run.

Does the first Lapin Angelique shop you come across have any pins? If so are they all just those flicking objects pins? The regular stuff you can buy is expensive and does very little to raise the shopkeeper's relationship so I'm not gonna grind out battles here on week 1 day 3 if it's not worth it.

you should really not grind until you get the ability to combo encounters

None until later on in the game. Really, you should be fine once you get the ability to chain encounters since the amount of money you get from doing that is insane.

The mobile version has more updated graphics and more music but a downgraded battle system compared to the original imo. The Switch version has that plus Co-Op and the New Day scenario that added in the extra plot stuff, but I’ve heard that the controls are more clunky compared to the DS. You can also still buy the mobile version IIRC.

Combat isn't as deep due to having only one screen but if you don't really care it does have updated sprites and a bigger soundtrack. I did enjoy the co-op feature added too.

Didn't trends just get changed by whatever clothing you were wearing when you fought a lot? Once I had the level down system and noise chaining I kept running around and re-fighting noise to complete my compendium or whatever as I was going

Yes, fighting and winning a bunch of battles will make the brands you're wearing more popular in the area you're in. The most popular brands in the area get a damage boost to the psyches of their pins, while there's the worst brand in the area gets a damage penalty. If you want to go absolutely ham on the enemy it's good to assemble a brand-themed outfit that fits with the pins you like to use.

Thankfully games are eternal

Because Neku represented what Joshua hated about Shibuya: people who were too dull and clouded to realize their true potential and instead chose to just waste it away, not giving a damn. If even someone like Neku, someone who has no problems with trying to take out his own partner if it means he’s the only one to survive, can change for the better, than maybe Shibuya isn’t completely hopeless.

I've just started a new playthrough and while I like the idea behind the pin enough to equip it I'm struggling with getting the lightning spinning around Neku AND running him into enemies to make it collide.
