You dont want to get into the habit of refreshing demolish early, but I forget what skillspeed is like at the start of the game. Generally you want to alternate twin snakes and true strike, and try to fit in two snap punches while demolish is up, but if it's running out for more than three ticks as you try to get a second snap punch, then just alternate and wait till you have higher stats

Refresh Demolish if it has less than 4 seconds left like any other DoT

Demolish is worth multiple snap punches if you let it's full duration run, refreshing it early is a bigger loss than simply using snap punch all the time. So long as it's being freshed around the 1-4 tick mark or a couple seconds after expiration you should be fine

The original public statement from a mod said that /vg/ was for threads that had a 24/7 uptime for 14+ days in a row, and I definitely didn't see FFXIV threads THAT often before the expansion, and even with the expansion they've tapered off a bit. Granted, I obviously didn't go out of my way to find the threads since I just started playing again, but I still noticed them when they were up.

I'm guessing the issue is that there was a never a set-in-stone internal ruling over what constitutes a thread that should explicitly be on /vg/, so it's just left to the discretion of the individual like how it's always been for most of the more flexible rules.

No you always want to hit positionals. The dot snapshots your buffs and if you hit the positional for added potency. True north lasts for 10 seconds and has two charges and the cooldown is 45 seconds, theres no reason not to use it if you csnt hit positionals due to mechanics

I liked going through ARR when I was starting, but I disliked most of the postgame. That said, I do hate when new players are recommended to skip through the entirety of ARR, even the postgame has stuff that's hinting at important things today, such as Yda's out of character dialogue in the sylphland

The new Gunbreaker sounds are ruining my enjoyment of the job. The explosion sounds are decent but the weapon swings sound like I'm swinging a fly swatter instead of a mechanical blade.

How would you even make that work? They have complete free mobility and ranged attacks. There is no way to make a fight screwing them over in particular.

MSQ quest for actual main story lore, +quest for stuff that unlocks stuff (like dungeons) and you can easily put some side-lore (like stuff used for callbacks) on +quests. And of course all the pointless MSQ quests (and there are a bunch) should then just be normal sidequests.

Despite all the references, XIV does a good job of making it all self contained in such a way that even if you don't know what something originates from, you don't feel lost either. You really don't need to be an FF fan to enjoy XIV.

I miss the original sounds too. They improved out with louder booms but now it sounds like a damn blunt weapon. The best sound would be the original sounds+enhanced explosions

I remember needing to spend about 500k on gold packs to get Zidane, and that was before challenge log, fashion report and chocobo racing updates made farming MGP effortless.

They get banned in waves. But they come back just as fast as they're banned.

SE bands bots in waves for the following reasons:
1. It's better to ban them in waves so they can't easily figure out what detection they tripped.
2. Each RMT bot you see is a FULL account, meaning they have paid for the game and sub for that character, it's actually in SE's best interest financially to suck as much money from them as possible before banning them.

Player bots are much harder to detect, and are only going to get caught if someone figures out you're botting and reports you. RMTs don't give a shit about this since each account fulfills it's value (i.e. makes more gil to sell than the account/game cost them) before the banwave comes.

That's not how its works, user. Both sets will be adapted for every role, with the melee contest winner coming first since that contest was first.

I am the RL, they all want to both do prog and maximize and keep getting themselves killed because they tunnel vision on damage and forget mechanics exist and then get titled they keep dying. I think it's fine to work on uptime during prog, but ideally once you compleytely understand a set of mechanics inside and not, not juggling both at once.

Depending on how good the script is, you can simulate human behaviour well enough. Of course, if you're sat by your PC and a GM sends you a tell to check in on you and you reply, there's no way they can prove you're botting. Since bots like the one you quoted just read the game's screen and input the actions via KB+M inputs.

Any competent SMN can play BLM two times over on two seperate computers while dropping a creampie in your mom. BLM is hardly a step above RDM in terms of difficulty

thing is, its much harder to keep the flow going on BLM, yeah on a dummy its easy as piss, but on an actual fight, you have to think ahead in order to maximise damage, its much harder to keep the momentum going, since your damage takes a nosedive if enochian falls off
for RDM and SMN, that level of punishment simply isn't there, they are much easier jobs to maximise, I will say that SMN certainly has more buttons to keep an eye on since it has an assload of oGCDs but that's it, RDM is piss tier to play and is honestly easier than fucking WAR of all things
bear in mind, I don't main BLM or anything, nor do I have anything against the other 2, I was mostly joking, but BLM is much harder to play at a high level than RDM/SMN

At 50 you can unlock all kinds of optional bullshit that you can ignore, just grab the alliance raids as they will be good xp later. Focus on MSQ. Money is pretty useless so only level gathering/crafting if you enjoy it.

Random rule was removed from NPCs in early Stormblood. Random can't be selected by Roulette either. NPCs that used to have Random have Roulette or Chaos instead. They also removed time windows from NPCs so you can just play any NPC infinitely as long as you have them unlocked.
