Axl is really cool, even though I'm not particularly attached to his playstyle, he has a lot of personality in a lot of his moves, and March of the Wicked King is my favorite song from GG1.

I feel like I barely ever see Bedman players, but I do like him a lot, he's probably my second favorite newcomer in Xrd.

Isn't Jubei really bad in CF? I didn't play much of the game, but I feel like I always saw people complaining about how he always gets treated as though he's crouching. He is one of the cooler characters in BB all the same though. Chaos is a great choice too, I don't really play UNIST anymore, but I always wished more people played him when I was playing because he's fun to fight against, and I like the weight behind his normal attacks even though he's a summoner and you'd expect Aji to be his main source of damage.

As a fellow Pot-connoisseur, what the fuck are you supposed to do in the Axl matchup?
The fact that everything hits twice destroys my approach plan. I tend to fish for low chain counterhits using backwards Megapistol, and mixing it up with slidehead and forward jump aerial blitzes. It's clearly not fucking working.
Both Venom and Sin are fine, but this matchup ruins my bloody week.

UNIST has very few people on PS4 EU though, pretty much everytime I've checked in more recent months there's been nobody there, not that I check regularly.

Yeah, Jubei isn’t that great but I love his design and concept ever since he was first shown in CT so I just had to use him once they finally made him playable. He has good tools, but the always in crouching state thing really fucks him over. It doesn’t even make sense since his hitbox isn’t even that small so it seems like an unnecessary handicap. And yeah, I like Chaos because like you said his moves just have a really satisfying weight behind them. I usually don’t like puppet characters but I love how Chaos incorporates kicks and stuff into his combos.

Eh using discord for matchmaking is like a 10 minute thing. But the thing is that you end up playing much more since anime players tend to go for long sets as opposed to the big games where people usually max out at BO5 even if it's unlimited matchmaking.

The best way, honestly, to learn how to play fighting games is the knowledge that they die out so fast that you'll be trading it in for a different one after a month.

Just start from the fundamentals, and work your way up from there. For every handful of matches you play, try to incorporate something you've never tried before, even if it causes you to lose. If you don't know where to start on a certain topic (spacing, normals, specials, etc.) watch some professional matchups and take note of when and how they perform their movements. It really helps if you have a handful of friends to practice with too, but don't be afraid to leave that comfort zone every once in a while.

It just comes naturally after you've reached a certain level of practice and experience, to the point where you'll recognize most movements as an instinct, rather than a series of buttons.

Played Tekken as a kid, got into fighting games seriously as a teenager in 2009 when Capcom re-released Marvel 2 (I had played SFIV once on vacation but didn't get into it until later). Marvel 3 just fascinated me and I got into all the technical and tournament stuff through that.

It's not worth playing for the single player alone, though it does have a very good tutorial. I play regularly on PS4 EU without much issue, but recently the playerbase has been dying down more and it's been a bit harder to play. Not so much so that I've stopped playing or that I've had to resort to using discord or anything like that, but enough that where I used to be able to play daily without issue, now I'm not completely confident that I could get a couple of games in everyday.

This is the fate of guest characters, although if there's a company that's willing to say "Fuck it, use him again" it's SNK. Eliza can easily be tweaked to be more like Akuma.

NRS games are the worst about it because their guest characters are fun and really well-executed in terms of fanservice but never come back and never get a character that takes their function. Half the reason I don't care about MK11 is that Jason isn't in it and won't be in it.
