Why are there hundreds of sealed/new copies of well-loved PS2 games for cheap?

reprint maybe? Yakuza 1-2 on PS2 received a reprint in the past few years.

Why would they reprint them when no retail places sell those games anymore? do the publishers make money from people selling them on ebay?

They resealed. It's a scam.

Is ps2 region free? Could go forsome ps2 games but I cannot deal with the shitty PAL framerate, so I need to import.

Seems like a pain in the ass to reseal hundreds of copies that need to be in great condition anyway, and then sell them with only a small premium

What? They were/are available at Amazon and other online stores

Nocturne was reprinted after Persona 3 came out, and probably again after P4. I remember before that, it ran for about 200 bucks.

I know Konami released PS2 reprints of ZOE 1 and 2 a year or so after the HD Collection came out.

They were probably just laying around in a warehouse in the middle of nowhere

Moron

Supply and demand user. Basic economics

The PS2 was never rare so collector faggies BTFO.
People who actually play games emulate.

Price is dependent on a number of things like scarcity and demand. If a game from an older gen is still that cheap, it probably means there were a ton printed.

They were reprinted.

Why are you shilling so hard and pretending you're not?

PS2 lasted for a decade or so there was probably lots of sealed copies when it was over

But user it is praised by popular Yea Forums approved youtuber matthewmitosis and look at that rating a whole 5 stars! I don’t know who this atlus is but it seems like they made a great product for such a cheap price! And they released it on psn for the same price that sure is nice of them

>into a dark mirror-image of his world

That isn't what happened at all you fucking retard.

Is that HD Collection good btw

a better question is why does Square-Enix still sell brand new sealed copies of their PS1 games on their official store and at amazon?

shame about the green spines

they reprinted them during ps3's run for some reason, they're distinct from the originals though. you can tell by the color of the disk

it's region locked and playing imports without hardmodding is a pain in the ass. if you want to collect games and play real copies of them you should also import a PS2.

it was shit when it came out, they patched the PS3 version to improve 2 but didn't improve 1 or the 360 version of either

A better question would be why the fuck haven't you hacked your PS3 to emulate tons of these great PS2 games?
Don't try to delude yourself into thing having the game physically matters or is "special" when they were produced by the millions.

I have a PS2.

New old stock does exist.

PS2 reprints get me hot

hard drive loading on PS2 > emulating on PC > emulating on PS4 > having AIDS > emulating on PS3

>why the fuck haven't you hacked your PS3 to emulate tons of these great PS2
because ps2 emulation on ps3 blows if you don't have one of the launch models :^)

new is a 'condition of item' brainlet. You can have old items listed as "new" or "Like new" depending on the website if they are factory sealed.

1 is bad and kind of unplayable now with janky controls. But 2 is a lot better.
