Is it too late to make a gaming channel? Has Yea Forums had any luck?
Is it too late to make a gaming channel? Has Yea Forums had any luck?
>they made the food from Minecraft a real thing
You can still and will always be able to break in if you're entertaining or talented enough, but you're probably not, let's be frank.
I was thinking of doing a video series on analyzing bits in level design and showing how they could be made worse or improved to help empathize the quality of them.
I really want to do Banjo Kazooie first since I feel like there's some great ideas mixed with some odd ones that I found within Spiral Mountain and Mumbo's Mountain so far.
I'm just not certain how much of an audience there would be for this unless I did a shitton of editing.
It's never too late fkr charismatic people, especially if you have youtubefag friends.
It is too late too late to use vidya content to earn cash from ads, though (you will need baby shark and slime recipe videos for that), so you have to rely on other sites like patreon and twitch.
There's not enough content there to garner a large following unless you have other design commentary series you can continue with.
Also, you'd have to have a reason anyone would bother to listen to you other than 'I thought really critically about how Mumbo's Mountain is laid out'
I started not too long ago and it's rough as fuck.
Spend hour on filming content that I think is original.
Editing is a fucking nightmare.
Buy the best microphone I can afford with my shitty pay.
Record voice at night because there always shit tons of sounds outside and the heat is unbearable without A/C so at least it not as hot at night.
Write script as PG as possible because I don't want any kind of problem with youtube.
And all this for some videos with some average quality that like 3 persons I know watch a fourth of.
I know I just started and I had 0 thought of making money with this but I feel like people won't even be putting my videos for background noise while they are doing chores.
Unless you got a lot of time to kill and don't expect people except your uncle John to watch your video don't bother.
youtube.com
Yeah my shit could be a lot better but what can a single person do with limited funds AND time anyway.
>that name and channel art
bro what are you doing here
pull a sark and upload shit you'd want to watch, not things you think would be successful. the key to any form video production is something you enjoy not what your audience enjoys. I regularly edit short clips I happen to record while playing games and upload them so they don't take up hard drive space
Just make smash speculation videos. Rip off the latest shit, add ur spin. Maybe include things they didn't think of, maybe combine info from various channel on the same topic. Smash fags are autistic.
i gotchu my guy, keep at it
you need to know someone at youtube or someone who owns an ad network like Shillip DeFranco to get an artificial boost like Scott the Poz and the nigress who lives in a van
Im going to watch it and give you false hopes until I hear something I disagree with
Like I said wanted to make it PG as much as possible.
Thanks dude.
It takes months or even years to get noticed my dude, YouTube's algorithm favors channels that just pump out a ton of long videos, so you need some alternative way of getting yourself out there since that won't work for you
>youtube.com
Where are you from? Your accent is weird.
I made an undertale video back when it was only a demo. After the game exploded it got 500k views.
But I was and still am too lazy to do anything
>something surprisingly good
>on Yea Forums
I must be dreaming
>Is it too late to make a gaming channel?
it's never too late, but making one with the intend to live off of it? better start buying lottery tickets too
guys someone make me a rantsona pls
Please don't cross your arms, I'm begging you.
I started making videos of my recorded gameplay edited with some music and some moments I found funny, got two videos so far (Maximum Action and Yakuza Kiwami 2) and I'm working on another on EDF5. My videos are sitting at around 100 views but they're flagged as French.
I think it's still easier to gain recognition on Youtube than it is on Twitch for example, even if Youtube has way more people on it it is also one of the most visited websites around. Not to mention you can position yourself much easier whereas Twitch is sort of thought of that famous people get more famous and small streamers stay at the bottom unless you put in the work to make yourself known/bot your stream at first/etc.
>Been working on making dolls of vidya characters for a few years now
>Getting pretty good at it
>Wanted to make a video thing where I make some dolls and talk about the games they're from with a kinda mini review or talk about why I really liked the character
>Camera tripoded and on, got lighting right, decent lapel mic
>Froze up and end up with the video equivalent of re-writing my introduction over and over again
good idea honestly. I would sub
>imagine thinking about making a vidya channel at 26
h-haha fucking loser
Are you really targeting kids with all these cartoony effects and voices? Just put your QR code at an elementary school bro
They need a suit
Just make funny faces and add some red arrows/circles to the thumbnail, make sure the video is heavily edited with constant pans/cuts/zooms, if the game is quiet then add some royalty free background music. You pump these out on a regular interval and you'll make easy money.
>le dunky """"humor""""
you deserve everything happened in your life
I’d watch it
creating is easy - making good content is a little more difficult. getting lots of regular viewers is really difficult. its worth it. I have done ok.
I can tell you right off the bat where you need improvement:
- Your Diction. I can't understand you, go back to your country, white power.
- Choice of bgm and pacing of transitions - make it more snappy and less sleep-inducing
- Scrap that shitty intro or at least have the mercy of showing it AFTER a hook introduction to the video content
- Make better thumbnails - use one graphic or 3-5 words to make a point, not a bunch of text blocks and graphics garbled together.
- Frame non-16:9 content
Maybe next time I stumble upon your shit I'll watch longer than 40 seconds of it before skipping through the rest in 5. good luck!
>6 year only video
>barely over 7000 views
youtu.be
What kind of fursuit?
not being mean, its uninteresting to listen to you. put more emotion in your voice please.
>make shitty SFM videos of youtubers/streamers or other random shit
>some videos do okay
>one gets recommended everyone
>stop because i got bored
I get why everyone wants too make a name for themselves but then you have keep up on it all the damn time, I know i'm on Yea Forums but playing video games is just more fun.
Arent you the guy who had the thing stuck in his asshole
You need a better mic, mate.
Sounds interesting.
I've seen your magic powder video, perhaps you should work on diction or just use subtitles instead of your voice.
Mine is doing pretty good if you like gaming content check it out. youtube.com
I've been making short comedy vids, usually using games, for me and my friends to laugh at. I can't speak from experience but you shouldn't do it with the intent to get big unless you're willing to put in a fuckton of work. Learning how to do advanced editing is like learning an instrument, not to mention having original and funny content on top of that.
youtube.com
^ i did this in about 15 minutes but the other vids took a bit of work
Just hit 100k subs, so I think it's still viable. Just do something different or better than what's out there
I'm doing a Let's Play of The Witcher
No facecam, just playing the game and having a good time
youtube.com
Audio is the most important part of a video and unless you have a really interesting way of talking or a fenomenal voice people will change to a different vid instantly, and you not only keep your mic's bad quality unedited and sloppy, but you very clearly sound like you're not having any fun doing this and considering the audience you seem to want to reach with your vids, that is the WORSE thing you can do for audience retention.
Also if you really can't record unless it's 2am you either need to get a place like the inside of a drawer or a pillow fort to record so you can make enough noise to sound natural.
Also i really suggest you work on your spoken english. Your writing is good with just a few mistakes, but if all your vids are gonna be you narrating you wanna make sure people will understand what you're saying.
>Yeah my shit could be a lot better but what can a single person do with limited funds AND time anyway.
Go watch Cjszero01, that dude started doing his own vids 10 years ago and he's STILL doing them all by himself with a budget of basically 0 per video.
you have a pretty nice voice and accent. if you got a better mic you could have a nice, chocolatey radio voice.
>Wanted to make a video thing where I make some dolls and talk about the games they're from with a kinda mini review or talk about why I really liked the character
I amliterally begging you to keep going, watching a craftsman explain why he likes his inspiration for a piece sounds comfy as fuck.
Not really gaming-centric, but i've been doing shitty "videos" for me and my friends to laugh at and i somehow have more subs than a couple of anons here. I guess 2011 seniority really helps on yt.
youtube.com/user/gcomastah/
Kenny Lauderdale kinda got lucky. Then again, his content is not vidya lol
Also that Weegee guy who did Smash videos. Then he went on to become a prick.
>I should make a Youtube channel! It'll be great!
>But I don't have any good ideas at the moment for what I'll make
>I'll try again tomorrow
>Every day for the past 9 years
I made only game related videos and the one time I decide to make a non game related video, youtube picked it up and started suggesting it to other people.
It's a weird kind of luck.
Was it a good video?
I do retro and new longplay videos with no commentary.
It took years before I gained any traction but this year wasn't too bad. However this month I've lost subscribers.
If you enjoy it then do it.
That sounds cool. I'd certainly watch it.
Eye catching titles and thumbnails are extremely important.
>what can a single person do with limited funds AND time anyway.
Being original and interesting for example
You really think you cant get big without a fucking jewtuber mic
i made minecraft lets plays with more backbone than you
