both the gamecube games had all 3 gens of pokemon thats 300+ with good animation quality.

Yeah, you could catch Sandshrew, Gligar, Trapinch, Aron, Surskit, Phanpy, Hoppip, Zubat, and Wooper at those spots, plus there was an ingame character who'd trade you some pretty useful Pokemon for them.
I definitely remember using the Aron, Phanpy, and Larvitar in some playthroughs.
