As both a medabots fan and a custom robo fan, LBX was an absolute fucking garbage game and I would be hard pressed to recommend it to literally anyone over any other game with robots.
I did not like it at fucking all.
Voice acting was bad
Story was lame
Too much focus on the humans
Perfect accuracy enemies
A fucking stamina bar while enemies seem to be able to infinitely dash and shoot
And thats just off the top of my head

LBX was fine, and the story was just a Saturday morning cartoon like Custom Robo Arena. The biggest problem with the gameplay were the huge amounts of invincibility frames after getting knocked down.

To me every fight felt like button mashing and there was absolutely no real strategy involved other than "dont run out in the open because youll get sniped every time, and dont approach because youll be caught without stamina and your allies wont be around to help"

Try the knuckle weapons, you could actually perform really cool combos with them and juggle for ages.

Use lance weapons. Do attack attack attack and then at the height of the launch do forward attack you get one more hit in.

Do this combo for the rest of the game.

played it maybe 5 years ago and remembered enjoying it. the gameplay was solid enough. haven't played custom robo though so maybe that's better

I swear that line is burned into my skull. It has been at least 4, maybe 5 years since me and some friends played this game, but that faggot's voice still resonates in my head as soon as I remember him talking whatsoever.

I played it back on the PSP. I could not bare the amount of loading times and loading screens to get through it.

I only ever watched the anime for LBX, shame the games aren't any good. The show was Gundam Build Fighters meets fucking Die Hard

I played this a fuckload while I was in the navy, it was really popular, you do get better frames eventually but frankly you're just better off entering codes for op frames.

As a Mega Medabot fan, I have to disagree with your. LBX is a fantastic franchise and fun as fuck. I played all three Danball Senki games and I loved it. The customization is fun, the designs are good, the characters are likeable enough and the gameplay is fun. It gets better in the sequels but I still thought the first game was fun as fuck.

And thats where we'll disagree then
Lbx felt like it was trying to copy other things instead of doing anything on its own, which isnt a flaw on its own
But then refused to do anything with the style theyre emulating and stuck with generic looking weapons weapons attacks and styles which made it feel pretty fucking lame.
And then they decided to make your partners useless and throw on stamina to make you feel even slower?

I am currently having more fun right now playing the rng shitfest that medarot 5 is than I ever had playing LBX

The stamina issue is resolved in the sequels, if you ever get around to playing them. And what can I say? I just found the games real charming. I liked the designs and characters and really liked collecting all different parts and customizing my bots.

Also, Medarot 5 is alright too. Development was just fucked up and the game was cut short which resulted in an incomplete product. Gameplay tried something new but the combo system was honestly no fun. The characters are really likeable and the some of the Medarot designs are unique.

If you played the Ikki games then you played the best part of the franchise but some of the newer games are also decent fun. Might want to skip the DS Medarot game.

I doubt i'll ever try the sequels, since i was excited for lbx and got burned. I doubt i'll try it again

I don't speak japanese, and medarot 5 railroads you hard enough that the only part i got stuck on was pic related
I didnt even know how the combo system really worked, i just mashed attacks and prayed that my bots didnt block with the part that was currently attacking

the only other japanese only medabots games that i played to completion were medarot r and girls mission. the latter being an absolute shitshow where the only way to win was to cheese via shooting lasers through walls

Kek I didn't even play Girls Mission after I played Dual. The series is really way better as an RPG series.

Good, don't. it's not worth your sanity
every battle is 2v2, but your ai partner will rush towards the opponents (no matter their weapon mind you) get double targeted instantly, have their head OHKO'd and leaving you to 1v2
using melee weapons is an instant loss since you WILL be kited by the opponents and deleted, especially in a 1v2
many weapons have a charge mechanic where you hold a button and you will release a stronger attack when you let go of the button.
lasers can shoot through walls
lasers do huge fucking damage
so the game devolves into staring at walls and charge shooting lasers through them, regardless of which medal you're using.
after i completed the story with each girl, you get to do a bunch of mortal kombat-esque towers with different challenges, i forgot the other challenges honestly, but the 100 man gauntlet is an absolute fucking crime
every match takes like 6-7 minutes if you include load times, so you've got like 10 hours of just sitting there cheesing opponents
and if you get bored and want to use your 3ds for something else thats too fucking bad because you cant suspend your data. better do it in one sitting and hope your 3ds battery doesnt die :)
i think i got to like 40, got one shot with someone's giga beam special through a wall from across the map and never launched the game again
