I'm trying go not be as mad playing Smash. I want to have genuine fun again, win or lose. I know that focusing only on winning won't necessarily help me improve. But inproving and being less angry is hard when even arenas are filled with people who don't even want to play the game. I played a 4 player playground arena recently to relax and have fun, and unfortunately Temple was chosen as the stage. The other players only wanted to run and stand in various corners. I was the only one wanting to fight the entirety of the match. Ended up winning with a huge majority of kills but damn I don't understand how you get matched with shit players even in arenas that are supposed to be for fun. It's like no one genuinely enjoys playing anymore, so how can I?

he’s little mac, dork. he’s fucking little mac. just shield, grab, throw and gimp. and if they try to get you with a down angled f smash or a cheeky grab there’s a handy tool called the spotdodge. he can’t even use his Side B after he’s hit out of it once, just smack him one time offstage and he’s not fucking coming back, and considering his air dodge is the worst in the game there’s hardly anything he can do about you approaching him off stage except counter and pray. hell if you play on a stage with platforms he cannot hit you. his jumps is just barely not enough to reach the first platform of battlefield.

A limit of 10 single player matches sounds good. I haven't been able to bring myself to play solo quickplay for a while, but I enjoy doubles quickplay and solo arenas. The quickplay doubles are much more enjoyable, unless one of us gets angry. No team damage means we get away with dumb shit, but so do other teams. Down tilt -> KO punch genuinely does not combo in this game at any percent, I don't know what else to tell you. Instead of going online, you should go into training mode and do it frame by frame with 2 controllers, I assure you it does not work.
Every character in the game has a frame 5 airdodge or faster, all of which are fast enough to escape as long as you buffer it. You're probably getting hit because you're trying to jump out of hitstun which isn't fast enough.

I wouldn't call up-b dishonest. It's just a good out-of-shield option. Anyone else just uses neutral air out of shield or something anyway.
Side-b can feel cheap at times, but it's a command grab so if you get grabbed by it then you fucked up anyway.
I've seen people bitch about his fire breath as well. It's a good way to rack up a lot of damage if you catch your opponent in it, so I can understand the bitching, but again you have to read them to land it otherwise you're basically a sitting duck for a couple seconds.
Most of his moves that have super armor are also pretty well telegraphed.
And honestly it's very easy to zone the fuck out of Bowser since he's so big. Many of the top tier characters simply outclass him unfortunately.

Idk if I'm any good at giving tips, best I can say is B-reversing charge shot has to become like second nature, bombs have a lot of utility like movement, ledgetrapping, combo-breaking, etc. Priority should be trying to improve your movement with the character because it's secretly great once you get the hang of morph ball

All honesty I think the neutral-b change you suggest is what he really needs the most, followed by a more easily cancelable dair since Ridley already has a decent air game.
I'm so sick of this "design characters with massive limitations in mind" mindset that Sakurai seems to have towards new characters. There is no reason Ridley's up-b should be as clunky as it is - not like it being like Fire Fox would make him fucking broken, and there's no reference to the games there. All it really does is just make the character less intuitive and harder to play for no discernable reason.
At the very least, he's in forever now regardless of shitposters so he can be fixed in future updates/games. Who knows, maybe in the next Smash he'll be DLC and then get to be absolutely broken as a character.

From what I know the character mod was designed with extremes in mind: he has great air game with his above average mobility, multiple jumps, and super fast aerials that all combo into each other, along with an aerial command grab. But then this is offset by him not only being the biggest character, but also by having almost jigglypuff-level weight, along with mediocre ground moves(no real best-of me tilts, his smash attacks are fairly slow and don't have great killpower) which are only really meant for Ridley to try and get his opponents back in the air.
I'll admit it looks fuckin nuts, but I'd be lying if I said I didn't think the concept of an aerial-focused big body character in Smash sounds really neat.

Oh bullshit. Nigga all you have do to with his bomb is keep throwing it and it’ll hit the opponent somehow with that giant hitbox. All of his moves are fast as fuck and kill way too fucking early, not to mention they’re all way too fucking eqsy to land.
ROB on the otherhand, has some of the laggiest moves in the game, making you need to think ahead to do literally anything at all, with paper thin hitboxes on all his moves, no reliable diagonal (of which link has plenty), no means of defense in the slightest when characters are above him (no, Usmash does not work when other people are attacking already, OR after for that matter), not a single moves of his deals any shield pressure, has no fucking priority whatsoever and lacks hardly any kill power at all, except for the risky ass Side-B that has,again, a paper thin hitbox and leaves him open for years on end. He’s literally THE most punishable character in the game.
