The Surge was actually a pretty good game and I'm looking forward to the second one improving the franchise.
But I have no fucking clue why they are making a Lords of the Fallen 2.
I think there are more reasons to own a switch than an xbox one or playstation 4
de Blob needs a third game, it's unpopular because no one played de Blob 1/2
Black people aren't that bad
Batman Arkham City is a timeless masterpiece & has one of the best storylines in gaming.
Tearaway was a fantastic game and an excellent example of the sort of charm and creativity that USED to make the Playstation brand special.
gaming hasn't been good since TF2 was in its prime
capitalism & consumerism has sucked the soul out of gaming
battle royale games are only popular because people are addicted to the feeling of "gambling" each game they play
battle royale games are predominantly luck-based & the average knuckle dragger is addicted to rolling the dice
I haven't played De Blob mostly because Lazy. Gotta do that at some point the games look fun as hell. But yeah it definitely deserves a 3rd game.
Based
>he's relaxed
Lol, good luck next time your walking along the street later in the evening
Diversity isn't the issue.
Trannies don't want to censor video games, in fact they play tons of weeb games and self-insert, censorship damages them as much as it damages weebs on Yea Forums.
Transtrenders, hons and queer people are the ones actually grabbing pitchforks and asking for censorship or twitter and resetera, generally people that don't even play video games.
The true and biggest reason why modern AAA games are so shit is because they're trying to become more like movies than interactive games.
It's the real root of all our issues and the basis from where all the other problems in gaming are coming from.
this is very not positive
Euro truck simulator 2 is the comfiest game on the planet.
>your
inbred low IQ hick detected
Anyone that hate HZD and Aloy is a massive self entitle insecure faggots.
FFXIII was a decent entry in the FF series, and is infinitely better than the dumpster fire that was FFXV.
haha triggered
Borderlands The Pre Sequel wasn't that bad, but it isn't as good as 2.
I really wish we had more bright, quirky, weird games with a strong Japanese feel and fantastic soundtracks like Locoroco, Katamari, Gitaroo Man, etc. because I love these games to death
The Last of Us, Half Life 2 and Ocarina of Time are my favorite games. I've played them all to completion a dozen times each but they never stop being pure magic every time.
Online shooters are mostly garbage.
For a game to be good, it must have good writing.
The real enemy of video games is middle to high class white women getting offended on behalf of minorities and the LGBT crowd.
Hell most of this shit is because of them faking concern and anger over stuff the people they are angry for don't even give a fuck about.
You seem more Land whales and beta orbiters in these protests than the people they are protesting for.
Bioshock Infinite > Half-Life 1 or 2
>The true and biggest reason why modern AAA games are so shit is because they're trying to become more like movies than interactive games.
Yeah, it's not because they're bland, safe and uninspired shit designed to be Skinner boxes. Die.
Shit like VR chat or RP servers are some of the best multiplayer games. Dicking around with strangers who are also there to dick around is a lot of fun, even better if there's a loose goal
I would agree with that.
As long as you add Bioshock 1 >Bioshock 2 > Bioshock infinite.
retard
Unpopular on Yea Forums at least:
Borderlands 2 and it's DLC were funny and I enjoyed them for the dialogue.
Pre-sequel was hot trash though.
for me de blob 1 was super fun, tried de blob 2 and it honestly didn't really give much new on the table and the levels were just not as fun as de blob 1
The need for shooters to have good online before even having functioning menus has killed pretty much all of them.
>Yeah, it's not because they're bland, safe and uninspired shit
That's literally what i said.
Seen any mainstream movies recently? Same exact issue.
And the skinner box aspect can also be translated in movie terms to the horrendous amount of merch companies such as disney push onto their consumers, squeezing them of every dime for cheap overpriced shit they'll get bored of in a month.
One problem doesn't cancel the other, in fact they pile up to create the situation we have today.
The skyrim modding community may have been one of the most fun i was ever a part of
Say what you want about the average nu-ND game, but they aren't Skinner boxes.
overwatch is complete ass
Game 100% haven't gotten worse over the years.
It's just that the bad ones are more noticeable now due to corporate shillings.
I enjoy most Video Games, vast majority of the time I will find something of positive value.
I'll just say that it's a really relaxed game, all you gotta do is move and paint really with a *outstanding* soundtrack that builds up as you paint which makes for a pleasing feedback loop.
Not sure why that wouldn’t be popular. If you don’t think Skyrim with mods is fun to mess around and install them your just pretending to be retarted.
Lost Planet 3 shouldn't have existed and they need to reboot the series akin to 1 and 2
>Actually get banned for saying black people aren't that bad
How about this jannies, fuck niggers, fuck faggots, fuck minorities heil Hitle race ear now
Console wars are so stupid. Just enjoy whatever you like and have fun playing video games.
Have you played Lovely Planet? I had a good time with it and recommend it.
If not for the counterproductive marketing, slow content delivery, and hundreds of bugs and glitches, Battlefield V would be the best multiplayer shooter out there.
I'm being sincere. The game has so many fantastic design choices that I keep coming back to it; it's a shame it's just so fucked up.
Byond games was really fun ,I played shitty home made mmo/online games on byond that are more fun than real produced games even though they were filled with weeb trash and were buggy, they were pretty inspired and basically lovechild games of a small community
Anthem is pretty good.
I like sonic adventure 2
Fuck education as well, huh? A borderline illiterate racist, now I've seen everything.
I agree, I have no fucking clue why they didn't give it the three year treatment like BF1. it's so obvious how stunted it is, I just wish they were able to give it the love it deserves
Ark Survival is actually kind of fun to play every so often
LP2, as much as it was a good game in theory, was ABSOLUTELY MURDERED by it's atrocious and archaic online infrastructure, especially the stubborn lack of drop in drop out co-op structure.
These decisions made the game sell like shit, and in turn killed LP, and caused LP3.
LP2 is the true, real reason why LP died due to retarded decisions, regardless of the fact that the game itself was good.
LP2 fans are also complicit in this failure by obsessively defending the game and considering it absolutely perfect, unable to understand the criticism aimed and it's online infrastructure and how it led to it's demise, just because they ciclejerk in their little dedicated community.
Sorry I was away but I just wanted to say a lot of delusional people DO treat it as a milsim
youtube.com
So sorry for breaking your bubble fucking lardass mutt
I enjoyed TLOU and it’s dlc was kino even if it was 99% walking and talking
I've been having more fun with 7/10 games than I am supposed 9/10 games.
I like Mobile games. They are like the modern Flash games. Yeah 90% of them is shit but this was also true for Flash, it's just that sites like Newgrounds were 100x better at filtering content when compared to Play Store.
>Yea Forums disguises pedantic cynicism as thoughtful critique on a lot of shit
>Battlefield 5 is a good game, coming from somebody who skipped nearly every title after Battlefield 3 (played Battlefield 1942, vietnam, etc at release). Air play is lacking, never spent a minute in the campaign, but the multiplayer is fairly solid
>Mordhau is game of the year
>Multiplayer games are objectively the best games. Testing your skills against other players instead of dole AI is far more captivating. Not that single player games don't have their purpose or their charm, but most peoples timesinks being multiplayer games is for a reason
>Kotor 2 is not better than 1. This is just mindless contrarianism. Both are exceptional games, but adding a lot of nihilism to the plot doesn't make it SO DEEP xDD than the original. Yes, Obsidian was robbed of the timetable they deserved to release everything they had, but Kotor 1 was still better
>Skyrim is a good game
Absolutely based jannies. You should have been permabanned nigger lover.
I don't hate Neil Druckmann.
I like to play Super Hexagon on mobile.
ah fuck
PC gaming is not worth the hassle and high price of Entry especially as consoles become more and more powerful and graphically there is little to no difference at this point except for high budget Western games which don't matter anymore
i mean i never played the "online" per say, i had friends to play the whole game with, so i didn't get to experience the shitty online
>Yea Forums disguises pedantic cynicism as thoughtful critique on a lot of shit
I mean, it's not even really a disguise.
It's basically just shitposting.
Backlog.
Emulation.
Low prices on Steam.
why doesnt she have elf ears and an anime face? gross
learn what objectivity is before posting. Or not. No one here understands what it is apparently.
I believe that this game is the direction all MOBAs should have aspired to emulate.
>Character fighting is actually action-focused
>Items all have an actual effect when purchased and are more than just stat bonuses
>Actually guide your army of minions throughout the map, where certain fights are better suited to let your goons handle them, and others may demand you go in and help them push a lane
>Lack of "towers" means that player map dominance is a near-constant struggle, and not one focused on timing of lane pushes and breakdown of a tower, but instead simply overtaking a point, which can be as quick as a few seconds
>Battles are extremely quick and demanding of focus, meaning you do not have time to play chessmaster in your base and ignore the fighting around you, but you also need to apply strategies to fights and cannot simply bash enemies without guiding your units and purchasing items
It's the true Action RTS that we're never going to see repeated, but it had every single possible thing working against it (Was seen as "Dynasty Warriors" because it features a lot of enemy mooks, actual character roster is pathetically small, maps are ridiculously non-linear and do no favors to invite newcomers, exclusive to Xbox 360 despite most weebs being on PS3 and most strategy enthusiasts being on PC, also limited by XBL in order to play online multiplayer whatsoever in an era where experimental PS3/PC games sometimes cruised on their "free online" communities, the list goes on) and will never see the light of day beyond a few enthusiasts bringing it up every now and again.
>For a game to be good, it must have good writing.
Spotted the Sony fan.
Minecraft has always been and will always be the GOAT.
I've played the game since Classic and have loved every second of it.
This isn't really an unpopular opinion, i've seen it pop up periodically.
It's just an obscure opinion because not that many people actually played it.
For example, using ArcSys again:
Hard Corps: Uprising was fucking amazing and was bashed back in the day by some Contra fans simply because of the artstyle.
Mechanically it was absolutely wonderful.
One of the main reasons why it's not more popular and appreciated is because it was a very niche, budget release stuck in last gen with no hope of a re-release or expanded remake in sight.
>unpopular opinions
>professes love for the biggest selling game of all time
Presequel had better characters and skill trees. Other than that I agree.
black ops 1 was better than modern warfare 2
This game released on Steam, I've been meaning to check it out.
I own a gaming PC and I mostly agree, that being said that line up you posted is pretty pathetic.
PCs biggest strength is emulation and the massive amount of games that are on the platform. If you're a big fan of playing the newest AAA release then stick with a console.
Chrono Cross is a fucking masterpiece.
Yooka Laylee and Mighty No 9 aren't bad games, they're just okay games born from unambitious kickstarters.
Yea Forums only pretends to hate Half-Life 2 to cope with the fact that Half-Life 3 is never coming out. If Valve announced HL3 tommorow, everyone would go back to sucking HL2's dick
Mario Kart Double Dash!! is peak MK.
>Physics are wild and fun
>This extends to items. Red shells can be dodged with enough precision, for example, instead of acting like literal heat seeking missiles.
>Lowest hitstun of the entire series so hitting a banana doesn't take you out of the race for 10 years.
>Overall very fast. e.g You can drift into walls without losing speed, many off road sections don't grind you to a halt, you don't need much acceleration to start drifting. It's very fluid.
>Has the most fun and intense Rainbow Road
Bro wtf this is a popular opinion
I like Adventure Quest.
Skyward Sword was actually a good game.
My wife and I unlocked King Boo and Petey together and it saved our marriage
Is it? Fair enough, I thought most people hated dd.
based as fuck
DQ6 is one of the best DQ games
>Mario Kart Double Dash!! is peak MK
This is a laughably popular opinion.
What the fuck are you doing here?
Is it because you saw someone praise MK8 and it triggered you or something?
FF X, XII, and XIII are top tier.
I like MK8 you poo. I just always see DD shat on in general. Maybe I'm just blind.
Please tell me why! I want to love this game!!!
I liked Star Fox command, at the time I was the perfect age for it's fanfiction bullshit and it's Ds Jank
FFX is one of the most successful games of all time, how is this a unpopular opinion?
To add to this, you can't hold items behind you to block. You have to time that shit which is way more fun.
Fucking based
FF13 is better then FF6
diablo 3 is the best ARPG of the generation, such a satisfying physics engine
Ape Escape, Crash, Spyro, Sly, Jak and Daxter, Parappa/Lammy etc. are probably better off dead at this point. They'd go immediately to shit if brought back for anything other than the occasional HD remakes.
Undertale was excellent and Toby Fox is a role model for most one-person indie devs out there.
Half Life 2 was superior in all ways to the first.
Despite a lot of the criticism directed toward it being completely valid, Homestuck was good.
Rayman Origins and Legends are better than any other platformers to come out in the past 10 years.
The controls in Skyward Sword were fine; it was everything else that sucked.
If Yea Forums ever wants to be better, then its users have to stop being complacent with the state of things and ignore obvious shitposting or porn/political threads. Not even commenting on them or calling them out, just ignoring them entirely so people who make them get the picture. You can't expect to completely do away with it, but too much kills the board culture and any actual, non-sarcastic non-ironic video game discussion. It's not the jannies' fault and its not reddit's fault; it's people on this board taking the bait and setting bad examples for newfags who learn the wrong things when they're lurking and go on to posting with the wrong idea about what discussion should be.
how this unpopular, the arkham games are awesome
arkham asylum had incredible graphics for the time
half-life 2 gets its dick sucked constantly on Yea Forums, so you have no clue what you're talking about.
the real truth is that half-life gets overrated on here because it's a pc series. if it was a sony exclusive, it would be ripped to shreds as a "cinematic experience."
>are probably better off dead at this point
Everything is. I don't get why people like sequels so much.
Sly 1 is the best game in the trilogy.
RE6 is a very fun game, even if the campaigns suck.
Orchestral soundtracks are amazing, it's just that too many games using them have really generic scores.
Demon's Souls has the best bosses and soundtrack in the series.
Folklore is the prettiest game I've ever played.
I agree with all of the series you listed in your first opinion but Crash. Vicarious Visions actually cares about Crash and made the kino GBA platformers. They also made Future Tense in the N.Sane Trilogy themselves and it was a great level, so they know how to design a 3D Crash game as well.
Transformers Devastation is mechanically the best game Platinum has ever made. I consider Wonderful 101 the better game and my favorite game of all time, taking into account how innovative and unique its combat is, but Devastation's mechanics work together seamlessly and the flow/momentum it gives you when you're doing well is unlike anything out there, and the enemy/boss design is such that you're generally able to get into that groove without it being a cakewalk (at least on Magnus & Prime difficulties).
The truly random loot system with no way to craft a specific weapon or increase the quality of a weapon (like from A to S or S to SS) are the only things stopping it from being a true 10/10 masterpiece. There's low asset variety due to the budget but the way they worked around that is brilliant; allowing most enemy types to have the same defensive options as you cuts down on animation but also makes combat way more dynamic, and the Challenge mode allowed them to exponentially improve replay value (which was already high given the 5 unique characters and Loot RPG mechanics) with little to no new assets required.
Every combat is a small puzzle once you get used to the controls, the Ghirahim fights are pretty dope and the game is actually gorgeous.
The dungeons have pretty good puzzles too.
i agree with the TF2 a lot, but only to shooters
capitalism and consumerism has very much sucked the soul out of gaming, become le soulless!
Arkham City has been a punching bag for "overrated games' for years now
I've poured so many hours in Borderlands 2, but The Pre Sequel I could only do one playthrough
Hitscan projectiles are objectively bad, no exceptions
To add to this, DD has the most fun battle mode in the series. I remember when the game came out, me and friends would play on the Gamecube map and cycle through all the battle modes instead of actually racing. It was some of most I've ever had in a multiplayer game.
Dark Souls 2 is a good game despite it's flaws. While the level thematic connectivity being non-existent and N64 Woods aside. It also contributed a lot of things to the series that unfortunately DS3 regressed in some cases that people are VERY quick to forget about. Namely a less linear experience, magic being good (for the most part anyways and in some cases being too good), better weapon upgrades, better PVP, actually useful dual-wielding, etc.
Half Life 2 is a good game, but an overrated game. HL1 is all around superior, and HL2 caught an insane amount of praise because it has the name "Half Life".
People are pretty split on it, it's been shit on a ton though.
if you like Surge but hate LotF then you should stop playing Deck13 games cause you are a paradox. just kys, make it easy on the rest of us cunt
Overrated /=/ bad.
You retards need to stop thinking when anyone says a game or character is overrated, that means I'm calling it bad.
Gacha games aren't bad.
I've literally never thought Crash was better off dead. The fucker has barely lived. None of the games after Naughty Dog left really did anything with the IP or its characters and it felt like time never went forward.
For instance the PS1 games actually have a fuckton of lore that is never explored and I'd kill to see a game where there's a gang rivalry between Pinstripe and the Komodo Bros.
People will stop thinking that when you'll stop slapping "overrated" over any game that gets even slightly popular.
The blatant, contrarian misuse of overrated started the trend of people hating when you call something overrated, not the other way around.
Tell me how to love the dragon stuff that happens in the late game!
>Rayman Origins and Legends are better than any other platformers to come out in the past 10 years.
They are stupidly good and really underrated, if they were Nintendo first party games they'd be catching insane praise.
Devastation is so much better than Nier. I was so let down with Nier but loved Devastation.
Doom 1 does it well, with weak enemies having hitscan making them a high priority target. Chaingunners are retarded though.
I also hate Blood because it's all about predicting and hiding from hitscan enemies.
I think that the whole output of Epic MegaGames is kino, I mean, ludo.
Modern games are 100x better than old games.
Been playing games non stop in an unhealthy addiction since Commander Keen era, games are way the fuck better
The smaller maps are just kino. I don't get why every other MK needs to be 8/12 player with massive maps, it's so messy and boring.
Not really. LotF was fundamentally broken. Nothing in the game felt good to use or play. Everything of super fucking slow and only one build worked, You always felt heavy and all fuck. even if you built completely light.
The Surge fixed didn't really have any of those problems.
Maybe you're just getting old and your bar is lowering, user.
I'm also old but i like older games more and the only modern games i truly appreciate are indies that are imitating/improving on older, already estabilished games.
The only sony system I have is a PS2
nope
As games got aesthetically better so too did the games get mechanically worse.
Double Dash is nowhere near my favorite Mario Kart but
>>Physics are wild and fun, this extends to items. Red shells can be dodged with enough precision, for example, instead of acting like literal heat seeking missiles.
I agree with these 100%, items in Double Dash are easily the best they have been in any Mario Kart game. They're both incredibly chaotic but can also be dodged with enough skill. It's why Baby Park is still the best in Double Dash, just because of how chaotic items were in Double Dash. Even on 200cc, MK8 / MK8D don't compare to the raw chaos of Bowser Shells flying around Baby Park
>DS2 is the best soulsborne game
>CoD BO2 is one of the best shooters ever made
>LoZ SS was a great game
>RE0 is a criminally underrated masterpiece
also, Baby Park in MK8... what a joke. Why did they add grass wtf
I liked the theme for ooze in action 52.
A fuckton of modern games are overrated though. Developers try to use hype marketing and morons fall into it so goddamn often.
Remember when people tried to call GTAV an amazing perfect game? That didn't even last long.
Super Mario Bros 3 controls poorly and the auto scrolling stages suck, SMW is so much better despite the worse balance.
Most people that hate CSGO are just bad at it because it's mechanics are super unclear.
Despite its flaws Siege is a super deep game that could be crazy deep if Ubi tweaked it slightly
People that can't get into Resident Evil because of the tank controls are legit low IQ. They have problem navigating 3D space and they can't do it with marginally awkward controls.
Quake is much better than Doom, enemies in Quake are much more fun to fight and Quake has perfect level design while Doom often has you wandering around empty rooms trying to find progress.
Sonic 3 and Knuckles is one of the best platformers ever made, people that hate Sonic because they either want it to be a game of constantly running top speed or they suck at controlling Sonic. They don't realize it's a momentum based platformer first and foremost.
Call of Duty is the most industry influencing series of all time.
Yeah, that's quite undeniable.
>likes DaS2
>likes RE0
We can never be friends.
It's like those people that like pineapple or cooked canned tuna on their pizza, i physically suffer when even remotely around them for extended periods of time, there's something fundamentally wrong with them, something in their brain is wired too differently.
C&C Renegade is the best multiplayer shooter ever made.
Too manly for the baby boy afraid of fruits and ds2 pvp
I think you're a shit gamer if you can't embrace cyberpunk as being real to a cyberpunk reality. People are trans, and have robot dicks and vaginas, get over it.
Call of Duty straight up became what Halo fanboys think Halo is supposed to be.
I mean the series is shallow as shit and is straight up the lowest IQ FPS series made, but it's huge and wildly influential.
All Souls PVP is trash.
How the fuck is this unpopular???
I think Yea Forums is in love with a cybernoire setting, not cyberpunk.
I think most of Yea Forums's experience with cyberpunk is Blade Runner, wich is cyber noire, and they didn't really explore it past the most superficial layer (because even BR has some of that shit once you dig in the background information for more than 5 seconds), thus explaining why there's this huge disconnect between the board and the setting.
Yea Forums essentially just wants "neon lights and chromed guns".
Wich is kinda dumb because Cyberpunk 2077 actually does have those things too, it's just that people here obsess over the shit in the setting they don't like, for some reason.
I only played Asylum but I found it pretty goddamn boring with surprisingly bad hitboxes. I remember jumping over a railing, watching a bad guy kick the railing I just jumped over, and then watching Batman fall down and die.
old game mechanics were horrrrrible compared to modern games.
Sonic 06 is fun
I unironically love Fallout 3 and think it's better than New Vegas
I love how broken it gets in late game, I love the shitty story, I love the craftable weapons, I love the soundtrack much more, I love wandering the DC wasteland
But dont you love speech checks more?
I really can't think of a single genre that's been improved in the last decade.
Can't say anything about your opinion since I haven't played NV (didn't like F3 but I'm not into RPGs or FPS so that's to be expected).
I do want to say that I love Honchkrow's animations in PBR. The way it puts out its wings and shakes as if firing machineguns is fantastic.
name an old game that you think is mechanically superior
Fallout 4 is superior to Fallout 3.
Fallout 3 is a shit RPG, with shit story, with shit characters.
Fallout 4 is those things but has better shooting, better power armour and more interesting world design that takes advantage of verticality.
Same, it's like oblivion vs skyrim, I just want to wander the expansive tunnels and kill shit and find stat upgrades
Persona 5 was great
I hate video games and regret I ever played one
but thats the most popular opinion on Yea Forums
Fable 3 is actually a pretty good game with the main idea of the franchise, not as great as 2 of course but it isn't bad
The Incredible Machine 3.0 is the peak of the puzzle genre.
Street Fighter 3rd Strike
Quake 3
Tribes
CS
I play a lot of modern games but I can't think of anything that's really superior to anything older. I guess Resident Evil 2 remake might work, but it's like a completely different genre now.
That's basically my opinion also.
If i want to play a real RPG, i'll play a real RPG.
If i get the itch to play a generic betshit modern shooter, i'll take 4 over 3, because 4 simply has better gameplay and better gunplay.
Characters?
Dialogue?
Writing?
""Envroinmental storytelling""?
F3 and 4 both do this horribly, they're both shit at it, so i might as well play 4 for the better core gameplay.
Banjo Tooie and DK64 are the casual filters of 3D Platformers.
If you can't learn how to play a proper fucking exploration collectathon game without bitching about traveling and putting in the work, you don't deserve to enjoy these games
its an inherently toxic kind of pvp, that said it sounds like people read your actions and you got parried a lot
Wolf Among Us and the ShovelWare CSI games have taught me that Telltale would significantly be better if they focused entirely on making their point and click adventure games murder mysteries
Nah, DK64 sucks. None of the abilities are interesting and it's the definition of artificial game lengthening.
DK64 sucks.
It's barely functional.
I can break that game casually playing with my dick while barely paying attention.
Horrendously designed, cheap ass shit.
Cant speak on fightan games as I barely touched those.
The other 3 I played thousands of combined hours.
Tribes 1 was great before everything turned into an exploitative mess, a game like Planetside 2 shits all over Tribes 1. The only thing it doesnt have is muh slippin slide movement.
CS was good 21 years ago, but R6 Siege shits on it in every single department.
Quake 3 is hard to say, it was the ADHD game back in the day, but unless you are the tippiest toppiest of elite gamer zooming around the map at breakneck speeds and shooting rockets around corners in anticipation of your opponent due to the health pickup you ran by spawing 3 seconds later than it should have and does indicating he may be around the corner... that shit is crap compared to even baby games like fornite.
Dark Souls (and assuming all subsequent titles) is absolutely no fun if you don't read up beforehand about mechanics, stats, where to go, etc. because dying is so severly punished, it is not enjoyable to go and explore and learn stuff through trial and error. It would have been a better game if they explained more, made it less complicated or easier to pick up from whereever you last died, without loosing souls, etc.
Titanfall 2 was just Call of Duty with slightly better movement and that's still bad.
The majority of JRPGs are complete shit and do not have good stories to save them.
>CS was good 21 years ago, but R6 Siege shits on it in every single department.
I've put like 1800 hours into CS between different versions and 1400 hours into Siege, and you're wrong there. Aiming in Siege is much easier, and the damage value for body shots in Siege is way too high. Siege also rewards randomness more with its one shot headshot system.
I love both, but they have their own strengths and weaknesses. Siege has more complex maps and more interesting counterplay, but it's also a slower game that's much less punishing for spraying.
>Quake 3
Nothing you said in that following sentence made sense, I don't think you know what "better mechanically" means.
There will never be another game that crosses board-game elements with first person shooter elements as good as Counter Strike: Global Offensive. It's so firmly on the line of the two genres that I'd venture to NOT call it an FPS.
It doesnt reward randomness, as there is almost no randomness. The bullets go where you aim. CS is the random king.
I made some typos but it makes sense. If you aren't in the 0.0001% of top games, even fornite has far better and more interesting mechanics than boring as quake 3 thats nothing but jumping and spamming for 99% of players.
They would have been better if they didn't take on 5 fucking projects at once.
The Wolf Among Us in particular suffered the worse for this. Episode 1 was really great; it had polish, fun writing, and look great with an actual visual direction to its scenes.
Then there was a 3+ month break after this 1st episode, when everyone was saying the red head dude was the killer. Many speculated they re-wrote the game because of this, and maybe that actually did happen, but it was probably more because of the multiple projects they started.
Episode 2 onwards were noticeably lower quality in many ways, and it never got better. Episode 1 was the last good Telltale game.
that's just being fucking retarded, not even an opinion
titancod was made by the same dudes, its litruhly cod of dooty with mechs
wait
>It doesnt reward randomness, as there is almost no randomness.
All recoil is random. Every gun in Siege has an element of randomness to it once you pull the trigger after the first shot.
>CS is the random king.
Recoil in CS is less random, in Siege there's a lot of sporadic left right recoil, CS doesn't do this.
Granted that first shot accuracy in Siege is how every FPS like this should be, CSGO trying to balance guns around their first shot accuracy is fucking retarded.
>If you aren't in the 0.0001% of top games
You don't need to be that good to just be decent at strafe jumping, not to mention aiming and predicting shots is also really important to Quake. Pretty much every gun in Fortnite has sporadic bloom and is inaccurate as hell. People pretty much just spam build towers so they can close gaps and execute people with one shotgun hit. The game was built for PvE and it doesn't have deep multiplayer mechanics.
Wow strafe jumping? Such amazing mechanics.
it's only real sin was being overly repetitive. it was a nice way to build upon star fox 2.
Bhopping in Source feels so much better than whatever was used for Quake. Fuck that.
Undertale is genuinely one of the best things that could happen to the video game industry
It is a skill based movement mechanic which ties directly into being harder to hit, which also ties directly into being able to grab flags and to secure armor, health, and weapons. It's a great mechanic all things considering.
You're just kind of using an arbitrary definition for "better mechanics". Games aren't really deeper now. They're either as deep as old games or shallower.
why?
Smash is a fighting game
I liked nuts & bolts
Fornite has the exact same mechanic plus plenty of others such as building as you said to close the gap and make you harder to hit. Thats a far more interesting mechanic than just strafe jumping. I dont even like fortnite.
Games are far deeper now.
The destruction system in Siege absolutely SHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIITS on every CS version in deepness. And that doesnt even take into account the myriad of weapons, map designs, gadgets, abilities, and my giant testicles.
Gone Home is an example of an avenue gaming should be exploring. Moments like finding the red substance in the bathroom tub and realizing it's not blood, but shampoo, work because the player is immersed in an environment they're exploring and acclimating to. Also, the use of the environment to tell a story is something games should do way more often, or if it IS attempted, it's done poorly. What we can learn from games like Gone Home and The Stanley Parable are greater than the things we can dismiss due to political or gameplay preferences.
>Games are far deeper now.
Nah, you got a smooth brain.
Sure grandpa, go play some quake 3 with your fellow dementia patients.
My gameplay preference is having gameplay. Dont think theres much to learn from gone home, and yes I played it. Walking around reading letters is just not interesting
>building in fortnite is deep
It's just a tacked on gimmick that adds nothing to the gameplay
The impact it left on the community as a whole I’d argue reinvigorated a lot of creators to produce higher quality products and made people demand more from their vidya than any other recent releases that I can think of. I know personally it made me realize how good vidya can be even if the actual gameplay is “pretty ok” at best.
t. My ass
Metal Gear Solid 1 is a self-contained story. All of its sequels are non-canon spinoffs that follow up 1 in different ways. 2 tries to subert, 3 tries to be a prequel, 4 hates its own existence, 5 is unfinished.
Have you heard of/seen anything from Tacoma, the next game the developer released?
Is there where I use the cope maymay? Of course it adds to gameplay.
I would rather play a game with crap game play and good story than a game with good gameplay and crap story
You'd probably love the Legacy of Kain games.
I'm so addicted to ark its crazy. I've been playing it near non stop since I got a PS4 last Black Friday. Probably sunk close to 500-600 hours on that game
i was about to insult you but then i remembered that i loved Nier: Automata
Not that user, i love LOK viscerally but most of the time i absolutely prioritize good gameplay first.
LOK gets a pass because it has amazing designs, amazing world building, amazing atmosphere, amazing characters, pretty good dialogue, but most importantly it has one of the best synth based soundtracks in video game history, made by motherfucking Kurt Harland.
youtube.com
youtube.com
Once in a while something like LOK comes around that makes me forget my fundamental need for good gameplay first, but in 99% other instances, good gameplay should always be king.
>but most importantly it has one of the best synth based soundtracks in video game history
It's like 50% true.
You still need perfect aestetics to go hand in hand with it.
Silent Hill games for example stand on the fantastic work by Yamaoka, but they're not -just- that, it's a mix of the soundtrack + art direction, visuals, characters, atmosphere etc.
That allows you to forgive the clunky gameplay.
Then again SH1 gameplay is secretly pretty damn good but that's a more complicated argument for another thread
Fallout 76 deserved the backlash and hate it got over the various controversies at launch and in the following months, and while its still suffering from a few hefty bugs, the game isn't unplayable anymore and is decent fun if you just want a casual-ish fun Fallput title with easily manageable hunger/thirst tacked on. I love survival games, so naturally (after waiting over 6 months since its launch) I gave F76 a try, I got it for free from a friend, and while it still has a long way to go, I can tell that it will get better, especially with NPCs being added with the Wastelanders update. I've grinded to level 61 already and I have a fun time doing the endgame bosses and whatnot, but no, I'm not shilling for this game or saying YOU should buy it, I'm just stating that I've had a (fairly) positive experience so far in it and giving my two cents. I can completely understand, as I threw a ton of hate (which is well deserved, fuck you, Todd and Pete) at it myself, but for getting it for free? Its solid fun, and I'm a long-time Fallout fan.
>inb4 shill
Don't buy this game until Wastelanders comes out and it gets smoother, or simply don't buy it all, I don't care, I'm just in it's current state its fun and is laid back compared to other survival titles in the genre.
Soul Reaver 1 has some stellar world design though, it's like the first 3D Metroidvania game and it has multiple zones that are completely optional and hidden, as well as a completely optional magic system.
Granted the combat sucks, and the camera and platforming aren't all that great. I do like how the combat focuses on finishing fights super fast once you have the Reaver.
Sounds like it was made by a 4 year old
like all redpills, this one is bullshit
This is unironically one of the 5 best games of all time, and if not for the terrible ending would be every bit as good as Final Fantasy VI or Ocarina of Time

Apologies for any grammatical errors, its very late here.
Money people should be considered more like consultants than owners of a studio
They shouldn't be able to make decisions that impact the artistic vision the studio was going for and potentially ruining a 10/10

They're not, it was being outsourced and it's being passed around from nobody dev to nobody dev.
Deck13 is making The Surge 2, coming out this year.
Serious sam was great
Uncharted 2 is my favorite game of all time.
GTA IV is my second favorite

You're entitled to think that, and I'm also entitled to call you a bitch
YES
thank you for saying this
Whatever. You only like them because you played them as a teen and never grew out of them. Just a new generation of Half Life 2 faggotry.
Fist of The North Star Lost Paradise is fun and a good game for fans of the franchise
Whatever helps you sleep at night.
Imagine how big of a fag you'd have to be to get offended over someone liking a game.
>is decent fun if you just want a casual-ish fun Fallout title
If you want that, play Fallout 1.
FO76 is fine if you can have fun with serviceable loot-and-shoot MMO gameplay. You could also Borderlands or Rage 2 for a similar thing; maybe FO76 just happens to appeal to your tastes more.
HL2 is better than HL1
Path of Exile is the best Isometric ARPG ever made, it builds on diablo 2 and surpasses it
being its only true successor
You're probably right, user, I just really enjoy Fallout and all of it's games, as its my favorite franchise. Still though, if they have a free weekend again, give it a shot if you feel like it. Just a really good time-killer.
Path of Exile and power fantasy grindfests like it are for autismo's.
Thanks Todd ;)

Every single community/clan/group I've seen from different countries is great, except american ones.

I'm happy with all of the Fire Emblem fighters in Smash. Yes, I haven't played the series, but each of my friends plays a different FE fighter when we get together to play Smash. Some of us play multiple, but who we prefer is unique. No FE fighter is without a player who prefers them.

I don't hate Fable 2 or 3 in fact I find them comfy and pleasant.
Fortnite Save the World is a decent tower defense/scavenging co-op shooter since they removed blind lootboxes you buy with the real money currency (which can be earned free).
At this point there are enough good crowdfunded/early access games to justify the existence of those types of game creation.
Timesplitters Future Perfect is a better game than Timeplitters 2.
I will play and usually enjoy any game that allows me to use revolvers or other cowboy weapons, even Fallout 76 (I bought it on sale don't worry). I have no interest in RDR2 tho.
Most games have some aspect done really well.
Fallout NV-76 are just a good time if you wanna play a cowboy in an apocalypse, especially the repeater in NV and lever action in 4 & 76. Why not RDR2, user? Too slow? I'm a big fan of Red Dead (played since Revolver), but a lot of the criticism of the series and gameplay is understandable.
Fable 1 is not even that good and Fable 2 is a lot better by actually giving you a variety of shit to do. The combat in Fable was never interesting or difficult and 2 did well to not focus on it.
I think it's the long plodding follow missions, auto aim bullet time abilities and the way characters walk around and have startup and wind down on every walking/running animation.
Sometimes I wonder how many people know that there are some timed counter attacks in Fable 2 and 3 that I don't think exist in 1.
TMS#FE was a better game than P5.
I enjoy some of the retro Virgin/LJN-style licensed games and are think they're better than modern Lego and Telltale efforts.
I think most people just parrot angry online reviewers and don't take into account the era.
There literally nothing wrong with making tiddie threads so you can jack off to videogame tiddie characters
Banjo Kazooie Nuts and Bolts is a good game.
I get'cha, I can agree, the realism was a bit too much in RDR2, and yeah, fuck the auto aim bullshit.
Oh and the layer of awkwardness around aiming and shooting in third person and how at least in RDR1 it forced you to sit behind a box and blind fire or simply wait to play whack a mole with somewhat bad AI.
MH World is the best MH game. Iceborne is going to be pure kino.
video games are a drug and lots of you are addicted.
Most people here hardly play video games at all
A month ago I wouldn't remotely agree with this but they are promising a lot of monsters I actually want to fight with world's changes so I'm inclined to agree with you.
Gameplay should always be the primary focus when developing a game, then music, then graphics, then story. The last two are interchangeable depending on the genre.
Pretty much me now
I've only played 2 vidya to completion in the last 3 months.
Yea Forums is literally the opposite.
They're addicted to staying away from games as far as possible
I think Prey 2017 sucks solely based on the it was all a simulation to test your empaty
BR games don't deserve all that attention, but they are no worse than regular shooters
I agree but I still think its fun and that moon crash is better than the base game
The story sucks though
Phones and social media are more of a problem, actually
In contrast that ending made me like the game quite a bit.
If they don't get to do anything else in the same universe I'll be sad though.
>your addiction is worse than mine!
I keep my PS3 Move around purely because I really like pic related
I guess that is what I'm saying, actually. I've been watching video games on my phone more than actually playing them
He never implied you were addicted to phones or social media, that was all you just now pal.
HL2 is alright. It feels very tech demo-esque, largely due to its age showing when you get to parts that are clear relics. "Here's the car level, here's the you've been stripped of all weapons but your (MAIN WEAPON) level". The 2 episodes on the other hand are still fantastic games that don't feel dated in their gameplay at all.
>there is nothing wrong with LGBT characters in video games as long as they are well written characters and don't shove it in your face
>90% of video games would be better with the male protagonist being replaced by a tomboy lesbian

>Fallout Nu Vegas is over rated pretentious boring nonsense for redditors that like to smell their own farts
>Fallout 3 was a lot more than than Yea Forums likes to admit
>Kreia from Kotor 2 was not wise nor was she a good character. Literally everything she ever tried to do blew up in her face and she died a miserable failure.
>most jrpg's would be a lot better if they stopped with the cringy waifu pandering
>xenoblade x was a good game despite the cringy story because of the mechas and exploration
>video game ost's are mostly garbage and if you are primarily listening to them instead of real music you are the worst kind of person
I think Runescape 3 is a good game, despite it being held back by a nearly 2 decade old engine and some inconsistent graphics around the world.
Xbox and Playstation are so alive thanks to racing games.
Forza Motorsport 7 and the Horizon series on Microsoft.
GT Sport online on the PS4.
Racing games is the healthiest genre, not afraid of volatile fashions and it repells young people.
Kart racers are on the same level as shooters so they don't count as racing games.
>no exceptions
The first 2 are pretty reasonable but then you went mad, minus the kotor one since I never played it.
>nier automata was almost completely ruined by the garbage tier character 9s
You could not have missed the point harder if you tried.
Also these are supposed to be positive, relax a bit!
same I love fallout 3, I thought NV was really good, but it just felt more like a western with weird animals, than a post apocalyptic setting. INB4 OH but NV wasn't effected that bad. yeah ok.
I thought Mass Effect 3's completely unwarranted multiplayer was fun as hell, and I'm still waiting on another game that does exactly what it did with less jank and an actual progression system.
>You could not have missed the point harder if you tried.
i have beaten the full game and had my saves wiped out a total of 3 times now and every time i replay it i am convinced more and more that he is by far the worst part of the game.
A literal self insert soiboi beta cuck niceguy who turn's into a rampaging psychopathic autistic sperg whenhis waifu dies. Considering they both come back at the end, their pods had the ability to bring her back THE WHOLE FUCKING TIME. if he had just calmed the fuck down and not been a complete sperg they could have brought her back. instead they had to go through hoops to keep him seperate from a2 and made everything needlessly complicated

I guess if that's your fetish, perhaps an option to have both
>nier automata was almost completely ruined by the garbage tier character 9s
Ok, we can't be friends anymore.
you cannot refute this
After all the updates and DLC's, I will say that I think Mass Effect 3 is a really great game. There are some really big flaws, not including the ending, but for the most part I found it to be a really enjoyable experience and am glad to have experienced it.
>All available romance options should have your sexuality
>Any sexuality that don't involve the MC should be, mostly, in the background, not obvious, suddle. If they aren't a big plot point, there's no reason to shove it in the characters face, especially if it has nothing to do with the story.
>Random character #375 gives you mission, his gay lover comes out of frame and kisses him, then leaves. this doesn't actually forshadow anything and adds nothig to the story.
This is not acceptable and should be treated as such.
Yea Forums will tell you that every game sucks, but this is objectively true.
Videogames are fun and I enjoy playing them
>DMC wasn't terrible and I probably would have bought a sequel if it got one, not saying it's better than the original series (which it isn't) but I get where they were trying to go with it and enjoyed it for what it was.
>I really hate the direction they went with Sonic Colors, it makes Sonic lame and takes all of the attitude away. Gameplay is alright but Generations and Unleashed (daytime segments) were a lot more fun.
>The Uncharted games are a fun romp and I enjoy them for what they are, by no means do I think they are bad games. I think it falls under the category of not for everyone and I understand why people dislike them.
>TLOZ:BOTW Is a good game but I found it to be very boring after awhile. The shrines end up becoming more of a hassle than something I would actively desire doing.
I guess I just have shit taste
1995-2015 was the absolute golden age of videogames and during that period PC gaming was completely irrelevant
Sunshine is the best 3D Mario game
You're meant to write DmC, else people don't know wtf you're talking about.
And personally, the biggest issue with DmC is that they just didn't have the balls to go all in.
If DmC was meant to be "it's DMC, but punk", then actually go all the way in, don't half ass it.
don't apologize to the original fans, don't try to cater to them, trasnform the entire IP into this punk-based action game, insert punk elements both in the designs, in the gameplay, and music.
Instead the result was this half assed piece of shit that doesn't know what it wasnt to be.
Half emo, half basic bitch ass hardcore scene.
Just a whole lot of nothing.
Only in NA.
In EU it was massively relevant, and that's why you have a fundamental lack of mutual understanding with a lot of the posters here.
FFXIII had a great story with engaging characters and the combat system was really fun
Rust played a single player on a private server is really comfy and the solo grind and base building is therapeutic.
If you meant to say Arkham Knight I totally agree with you. The graphics and look are amazing. Gliding around Gotham feels great and the Batmobile is a beast. Don’t know why it gets shit on so much here
I know the first one is not positive... but I have to be honest.
I think Cel-Shaded games look terrible and is a lazy artstyle that gets away with it too much (texture wise and overall visual wise.) Lighting is good and Borderlands 3/Wind Waker is a rare exception.
Dead Rising 1 and 3 are some of my favourite games ever, particularly 3 from the visuals to the gameplay.
Because the batmobile is pure cancer and completely ruins the game for many people.
There's SO MUCH fucking batmobile.
If you were ok with it, then you'll be ok with the game, but 90% of everyone fucking hated the bat mobile.
Yes, yes, YES! I loved the visuals in that game so much! Gameplay as well, but the visual style kicks the crap out of Spider-Man PS4 in my opinion. Look at the eyes!
I was fine with the Batmobile. Gave the game a bit more of an identity. Sure, there was too much of it, but it never became cumbersome. Without it, it just would have been Arkham City again... like how Arkham Origins was and how it was criticized for that... although I never played Arkham Knight on PC, only Xbox, so my experience may be far different. Hell, I didn't even know about the PC port's quality until much later.
I actually really enjoy the COD campaigns
They're good dumb action schlock and I was pretty disappointed BO4 skipped it to make a sub-par BR that immediately died.
>These games that a are ridiculed for being tedious and easy are casual filters serve as supposed gatekeepers of the genre
What are you on about?
Who says these things?
This is not unpopular. Only PS4-only poorfags would disagree since they don't know any better.
It's not 90% for sure. Maybe 30%, which is still a high number of people. The only thing that irked me was the boss fights. Batmobile was welcome since the core gameplay got stale after 3 games (especially if you binge played them like I did).
I miss Peter Molyneux being at the helm of a major studio, his eccentricity was always fun to watch and while I knew his ideas were too big to really be featured in a game it was always fun to see him gets autismal about them
Prototype 2 is flat out better than prototype 1. Only thing it does wrong it screws Alex Mercer's character with no explanation.

Pool of Radiance: Ruins of Myth Drannor is by far the most important game I have ever played.
Far Cry 1, realistic dufficulty, is by far the best Halo game.
Axiom Verge is the best Metroid game, Prime 2 Echoes is distant second.
I/O is by far the best Infinity-related game, original trilogy included, but the only parts that matter in it are Route A and the end of Route E.
Messiah, 2000, is by far the best Half-Life-like game I have played, Half-Life is essentially Another World in 3D anyway.
Exile is easily on par with Riven.
Baldur's Gate 2 as a sequel was unnecessary, should've been a game independent of BG1.
Pathologic Classic HD Bachelor > Marble Nest > Pathologic 2; Tension > The Void.
Plug'n'Pray is good, so is Quake episode 4 (with beta3 end.bsp), so is Powerslave PC/Build.
Pathways into Darkness is the single most original gameplay-wise FPS game I have ever played - and an actual precursor to Halo.
Fucking loved Killzone: Shadow Fall, consider Horizon to be a distant spiritual sequel weighted down by a metric shitton of filler (like 3/4 of tge entire game's content), whereas KSF has next to none.
Consider Ico to be the best Ueda's game, Sands of Time - the best Mechner's and tge best nu-Prince. Consider Ico to be a spin on Another World and Sands of Time to be a spin on Ico.
Consider canals / Water Hazard to be the goddamn fucking best most memorable chapter in Half-Life 2.
Consider Portal2's ending to be the best scene Valve has ever written and directed.
Consider Drakengard3 to be by far the best written and directed Taro's game.
Consider Cybermage to be the best Bradley's game and (on hard) one of the most memorable FPS campaigns I have ever played.
Consider Eradicator to be better movement and shooting wise, than any Build game, Ion Fury included, and lament the utter absence of either proper sourceports, proper editors or custom levels.
Enjoyed Full Pipe way more than any Amanita game, Samorost 3 included.
Enjoyed Rage of Mages more oh god its 2000 lim
Assault Rifles ruined first person shooters.
How is it surprising that FPS games feel homogenized when they're all designed around a gun that's hitscan, rapid fire, effective at both long and close range, and headshot capable? They have no interesting strengths or weaknesses to play around, leading to really boring player interactions. Because they're good at everything it means all that the other weapons have to be boring too since they have to be boiled down to a single niche. They don't use physics in an interesting way. They don't allow for fun movement techniques and if anything they shut down fun movement (see: Titanfall 2). They put a hamper on map design since the level designer has to account for players being able to kill each other at almost all times.
next to Left 4 Dead 2, Resident Evil 5 is the best co-op game on the market
it's super replayable and I enjoy just about every moment playing it regardless of which friend I bring along
This.
What would a Sony fan know about good writing?
>there is no pandering to sjw's/trannies
>very few female character models are ugly, ppl are just trolling or larping
>there are a lot of good games being released, but Yea Forums wants to look cool and shits on them
>mobile gaming can be enjoyable (esp. emulators and Rockstar ports)
Sparkster on the Genesis is better than Rocket Knight Adventures in every way except graphics and presentation, and is the best in the series.
Sticker Star and Color Splash had a ton of potential, and could of been a fun deck building card game similar to MMBN
I think Horizon Zero Dawn is a fantastic game full of great design and writing and I never gave a flying fuck about what color of skin each NPC was because only their personalities and actions mattered to me.
>Consider Drakengard3 to be by far the best written and directed Taro's game.
Are you aware it was intentionally written as nonsense with no story?
Call of Duty is the best series to play when you just want to start up a nice, simple round of TDM and don’t want to stress about it too much. I sure as hell wouldn’t want an industry full of only CoD clones, but there’s a place for a game like it.
PR panders to SJWs, but the actual games don't, outside of a few lines of dialogue some writer had to write so they can drum up controversy while pretending to appeal to lefties.
It's all very calculated and cynical, but it's there.
It may be, but that's only because there's nothing else to play.
Video games, for the most part, are consistently getting better.
>pointing to the schizophrenic chants splicing up the music when you intone in bossfights
Really? You THINK?! Why, I'd never!
This is only true because we hit a slump during the early 2010s.
Rayman 2 and 3 are the peak 3D platformers
Larian are a brilliant choice for Baldur's Gate 3
COD campaigns are usually great for what they are
Rage 2 was fun and I only regret buying it a little.
Also, the flying boat joke, and Three's DLC's rant (you know, which one).
I think constant drive to improve graphics and technology is a good thing and should never stop.
I agree with this completely. I liked Arkham Knight and the complaints about the batmobile is way overblown imho. It was a great game.
Video games are fucking epic right now. If i enjoy them any less than I did when I was young, it's cause I'm 28 and just like dropping a cookie can cause a child to cry because it quite literally is the worst thing to ever happen to them (so far), so too could I only experience extreme happiness from video games cause they were quite literally the best thing ever for me (so far).
This, women are, as always, the real problem
Dark Souls II is far better than III and the available E3 ENB makes it a joy to play through
You aren't alone. I still replay World at War or BLOPS1's campaigns from time to time.
I genuinely enjoy them for what they are.
Destiny 2 is actually pretty good now and I'm enjoying it a lot. One of the best games currently completely overlooked on Yea Forums because of its history of fuckups.
Indygames are generally better than big triple A games, it's just that you get 1/3 of the content for 1/4th of the price, and that's a great deal.
This. Giving women rights was a mistake.
How has it improved? Genuinely curious.
>t. Day 1 Destiny player that saw it all the way through but sat on the fence for D2 due to the negativity
We don't care about which system is better, if the graphics are better. The most important is to enjoy and have fun with the gams you actually like
I mean you're not wrong but this is the unpopular opinions section. Let me add to that.
>MKDD's co-op was fantastic and let two people do some crazy tecks.
1. I like all the Dark Souls games and I don't understand why everyone and their mother is obsessed with ranking them.
2. Nostalgia is a valid reason to like a game. Just don't become a consumerist pig that gobbles up everything relating to that product you played as a kid, it's disgusting.
3. A game can have obvious, glaring flaws and still be good.
Are you okay user?
>its not reddit's fault; it's people on this board taking the bait and setting bad examples for newfags who learn the wrong things when they're lurking and go on to posting with the wrong idea about what discussion should be.
Those are the same people user.
BFV is actually pretty good, the best gunplay in BF in a while. It's buggy though and they're very slow at releasing new content
Playing a singleplayer for the objective is stupid, the fun is in always taking a break at random intervals of the story or the objective to waltz around and immerse yourself. However this doesn't mean that Bethesda designs good games
Casual games were kino when Facebook and smartphones weren't mainstream.
CS: Source was the better Counter-Strike.
I have only started playing the game sometimes last december, which was after it was "fixed"so I don't have first hand experience from when it was shit, and I can't really write a full list but the expansion Forsaken has put tons of content into the game. They put in randomized loot in that stuff can drop with different perks that gives way to customization. They also keep adding new content at a steady pace like new game mode activities, exotic weapons that can be obtained via quests that add lore, etc.
One of the added locations the Dreaming City is seriously amazing in both visuals and also in terms of stuff to do. The available activities there change every week, there is also a mini-dungeon there that is almost like a raid but it can easily be done be 1-3 players.
Overall I'm really happy with it, and there is a new expansion coming that is on the scale of Forsaken, and they will release it on Steam moving from bnet, so there is something to look forward to.
Mighty No. 9 was and is good, it's just casual fags whining about it because it's too hard for them and don't care about gitting gud.
True story.
they want to anger non-leftists to stir up controversy and gaining momentum.
Just look at that 1 tranny with an obvious bulge in Cyberpunk, if no one cared their pr team would've failed, but instead everyone goes hurr durr fuck trannys i won't buy this game now fuck the devs and fuck the left. Congrats they played you like a fiddle
Dota 2 is the best multiplayer game ever made and nothing even comes close.
I got it for free, it's not terrible true, but it's still not that good either. I actually prefer we wuz ww1 solders an sheit BF1.
The XIII series has some of the better battle systems in the FF series.
Guess I'll wait for it to drop on Steam then. Thanks user.
Musou games are really good games to let off dreams after a tiring day of works and more people should give them a chance. Not every game must have the combat mechanic be as deep as DMC or story as emotional as your favorite whatever it is.
Good opinion.
I think fallout tactics is the best fallout game.
I also think that mad max and the evil within2 are great games and could be absolutely top tier with a few changes.
I think co op makes almost any game better.
>E3 ENB
Absolutely necessary. Vanilla lighting makes that game hideous, and I actually like DS2
>Timesplitters Future Perfect is a better game than Timeplitters 2.
I agree, It expanded on 2 and matured it's style.
>I will play and usually enjoy any game that allows me to use revolvers or other cowboy weapons, even Fallout 76 (I bought it on sale don't worry). I have no interest in RDR2 tho.
REAL SHIT, I'm a sucker for cowboy shit but for some reason read dead don't "feel" like a western at all.
13 honestly wasn't a very good game. The combat system was atrocious and it didn't have much besides that
I like rome 2, favorite total war and the last one i ever gave a shit about
>Atilla
kinda boring setting
AI cheats too much
Thrones
>boring setting, shitty game
>three kingdoms
Boring setting
>warhammer
I love 40k but warhammer fantasy is generic as shit fantasy, also the visuals and Ui are a clusterfuck
I love Breath of Fire 5 as much as I love 3 and 4. The game is so far the most unique JRPG I've played and I really wish Capcom didn't rush the dev team and gave them enough funding.
I love Chrono Cross also just as much as Chrono Trigger. The music is fantastic and the combat was a nice and unique.
I really like World of Final Fantasy. It's a really great Monster Collection game and I actually like the jokes that happen during idle chatter.
I really love Star Ocean 5 more than other Star Ocean games except 3, especially with the battles taking place on-map.
>I love Chrono Cross also just as much as Chrono Trigger. The music is fantastic and the combat was a nice and unique.
The Visuals and Atmosphere too, oh my god.
You don't just have unpopular opinions. You're an unpopular person in my books.
>Try to think of a positive opinion
>Can't
i HATE everything!
N. Sane Trilogy is the definitive way to play the Naughty Dog games.
Arkham Knight is the best Arkham game.
EarthBound is boring as fuck, and I've never gotten past Fourside without being bored out of my mind.
Outlast 2 is better than Outlast 1.
Super Smash Bros. Melee isn't all that good, I enjoy Brawl and especially Ultimate more.
>N. Sane Trilogy is the definitive way to play the Naughty Dog games.
But it completely fucked the hitboxes. Sure it looks pretty but it actually doesn't play like it's supposed to.
Ninja Gaiden Sigma games aren't that bad, I would unironically prefer Sigma 1 to Black if not for fucking Rachel, and NGS 2 plays more like 1 than 2
Apex Legends is a lot more fun than people want to admit, apart from the connection issues.
Didn't fuck them, they're just very slightly worse. It's really easy to adapt to them.
The slightly worse hitboxes is completely overshadowed by playable Coco, Stormy Ascent and Future Tense, added Time Trials, fixed Crash 1, faithful character designs, Lex Lang, and, for the most part, better music.
Animal Crossing: Wild World has some of the most fleshed out and well-written characters in a Nintendo game, and I'm hoping that they go back to being fleshed out in New Horizons, as there are so many plotlines that are STILL unconcluded and so many things we don't know about the characters, despite it being nearly 15 years since wild world.

Sonic R could have been really good if it weren't so short
>high ttk
>rng
>battle royale
>ranked is camp orientated
>unranked is for going aggro, kills, and completing challenges for a battle pass you have to pay for
>"fun"
nah senpai nice console gameplay though
Final Fantasy 8 had an amazing story and is one of the best in the entire series, worthy of its praise. People just disliked it because they were expecting Final Fantasy 7-2
Super Mario 3D World is a really good game and deserves a sequel, or at least a Switch rerelease.
I think PUBG is a really fun game with original concept, working off the player's adaptability and attention, and the hate it gets on Yea Forums is a completely unjustified contrarianism.
Killzone 2-SF play better than Halo
Donkey Kong Country 3 and Mega Man X5 are not substantively worse than the previous games in their series.
Gameplay wise it's pretty great, it just sucks that the presentation is so bland, the game barely has an identity.
Never played any Mega Man but you're right on DKC3, it has a worse setting and music than DKC2 but it's basically the same gameplay. Still a good game.
Donkey Kong Country 64 is better than both Banjo-Kazooie and Banjo-Tooie. The only major complaint anyone can have with this game is the Kong switching.
The Kong switching is such a giant fucking mistake that it ruins the game, though. It's just not fun backtracking through every inch of every world five times over just to get bananas.
Lawbreakers was a fun video game.
>Breath of the Wild
>Mario Odyssey
>Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
>Splatoon 2 (Yes, even with the splatfests ending)
>Xenoblade Chronicle 2
>Super Mario Maker 2
>Smash bros Ultimate
Seven good reasons right there.
There's nothing wrong with Lawbreakers, it's a solid, well-made game, but it was released in a saturated market that was already taken over by Overwatch, it had no chance.
Sonic needs to return to the Adventure style gameplay and ditch Boost. We get that Sonic 06 was a trainwreck, but that's because 0 effort was put into it.
we already knew this, Xbox has no exculsives and PS only has God of War and Bloodborne.
Apollo Justice was a great game, it just couldn't compete with the original trilogy.
Ultimate really is the best Smash to ever be released. Meleefags are blinded by nostalgia, and Ultimate is just objectively an improvement over 4.
Silent Hill 4 is my favorite of the original 4
I like protecting Ashley in RE4, in fact I like "escort missions" because I like the idea of protecting another character and them helping with little things or just cheering for me
Yea sure thats what people always blame it on but it was so much more of a deathmatch game where Overwatch is strictly team based. I still believe that it is more about people not wanting to go back to the arena shooters era. Lets just think that what if Quake Champions was new IP too instead of Quake. Yea. It would have like 10 players.
It's time to just admit that Kingdom Hearts 3 was a bad game, is hard to stay interested in, and just flat out does a disservice to the previous games.
Fair points, I have no problem with high TTK when majority of the map is so open though.
RNG/BR go hand in hand, this is the only BR I play though. I don't play ranked because I'm here for a good time, not a rough time.
Didn't you know? Console has the higher skill ceiling compared to PC :^)
Why the fuck doesn't Ashley allow you to look under her skirt, though? Wanting to see panties and vagina makes you a pervert?
This. Better story mode than Brawl, better newcomers than 4, and better balancing than Melee. Ultimate is the best Smash game, by far.
Movie games deserve to exist and can be good, even if there's are no meaningful choices in them. I loved every single of David Cage's games despite plot holes and mediocre writing just because of ideas and atmosphere.
right now is the best time to be playing auto chess games, as the devs are releasing updates like crazy
You should really give it a try, game is not very hard
I want bad or average/mediocre games to get sequels just as much as good games. There's almost always the potential to make something good out of any game, and it would be cool if it gets another shot at getting realized.
It's really fucking stupid since obviously a shitty game won't sell so it won't justify a sequel but I hate seeing potential getting wasted.
I don't even mean just games. The switch is modular and completely portable, which is a big selling point for literally anyone.
The Xbone is a better CONSOLE than the PS4(backwards compatibility, 4K Blu-ray support on X and S, Game Pass being a neat idea even though I don't personally get into it, X being more powerful than the PS4), but the lack of exclusives kills it. It might change with all the devs MS has been buying lately but who knows
Odyssey > Galaxy 2 > Galaxy > 64 > Sunshine
>Dark Souls 2 is a good game despite it's flaws. While the level thematic connectivity being non-existent and N64 Woods aside. It also contributed a lot of things to the series that unfortunately DS3 regressed in some cases that people are VERY quick to forget about. Namely a less linear experience, magic being good (for the most part anyways and in some cases being too good), better weapon upgrades, better PVP, actually useful dual-wielding, etc.
The universe was somewhat special and very good too
SMT is literally the only good JRPG franchise.
>Edgy Occult/Cyberpunk aesthetic that the Japs perfected in the 90's.
>Lore from actual adult IRL mythos
>JRPG GAMEPLAY THAT IS SOMEHOW ACTUALLY ENGAGING AND CHALLENGING WHILE STILL BEING TRAD
The last one is such a massive fucking achievement, that alone puts it in Tier 0.
i love megaten, but you're retarded.
>JRPG GAMEPLAY THAT IS SOMEHOW ACTUALLY ENGAGING AND CHALLENGING WHILE STILL BEING TRAD
this exact description also applies to saga.
Another user who also doesn’t like fortnite, people need to stop saying something doesn’t add something period if they don’t like it, like this retard, the game of fortnite revolves around stupid power ups and wall building and flanking, the gameplay is centered around the premise and balanced for it, the argument that it doesn’t “add” to the gameplay is pants on head retarded, instead you should say that “I dislike what it adds to the gameplay”
Gaming is better than it's ever been. There is more variety and a higher baseline standard of quality across the board. Indies are especially vibrant, exceeding AAA competition in everything but raw production value.
The shooting in Mirror's Edge is super satisfying, even with the two-handed guns that make you move slowly.
I'm actually fine with games that prioritize story above anything else if the story is actually fun or interesting. It's only bad when you can't really interact or affect anything.
there will never be another Nintendo MH title
DNF wasn't that bad
It got shit reviews by journalists cuz muh sexism
sure it was a neutered version of the 2001-2002 version (blame gearbox)
It used executions that give health before Doom 4
by 2011 standards it's a good shooter
>stealth missiles
MGS4 is my favorite metal gear game
Do you know if Black Mesa is well done and accurate story-wise?
FF14 Shadowbringers is the best video game of the year, even better than DMC5 and RE2.
Not him but its the exact same as half life 1's story. it really is just updated graphics and changed gunplay that still feels good. wait for the xen update to finally release if you want to play through the entire thing, we might actually get to see it fully release by the end of this year
>All addictions is equal
It is worse, there are objective ways to measure damage, video games are a non-problem compared to almost anything else you'd call an addiction. And anyone who's "addicted to vidya" can just replace it with any other form of digital media in the blink of an eye because they aren't addicted to games, they are addicted to digital media.
Agree
Awesome, thanks user!
oh my god so true.
Arkham knight is the best Arkham game
I thought pokemon ultra SunMoon was a good game
Sylveon is not furbait, it's cute and the best fairy type in existence
We need more cute traps in video games
West and East we should all embrace having loads of traps in your video games. It would be grand!
Sonic R isn't all that bad.
Cursed post
the west would just interpret this as trannies
fuck off
New Vegas is just as shit as Fallout 3. Get over it.
BASED
SYLVEON IS BEST
The only good BR was pubg and even though it was unpolished and buggy it was the only one that gave me an adrenaline rush when in the last 10.
what about >positive< unpopular opinions did you not understand?
GTA has such fucking mediocre combat compared to other modern games I don't know how people can keep playing/buying it today.
>positive
Resident Evil 4 is shit, it ruined the franchise all the way until 7 and it's only praised by early zoomers and posers
I wonder what its like to go through life without any reading comprehension
I have one of those, too.
Indie games are better than ever, provided you look past the usual rabble of platformers
Kingdom Hearts 3 was fantastic and deserves more praise.
Skyrim is the best the elder scrolls game so far and i believe VI will be even better
Dark souls 2 is complete garbage.
Gears 5 is a ton of fun and people are unfairly giving it the cold shoulder because of the silly e3 faces trailer.
RE4 is POSITIVELY shit
Is it not an expansion?
you're complete garbage
Lick my taint. I post as I please.
Of course. Outer Wilds is my western GOTY
The Afterbirth and Afterbirth+ DLC has made the game more varied and wacky which is just what I want from this game, can't wait for the next one.
Uhh yeah sure...you seem to have overreacted like some tranny posters on here but you do you incel.
>Yes, yes, YES!
Holy fucking reddit
I never understood the large amount of hate for the batmobile, I do wish the game had bosses outside of the batmobile. It's my favorite arkham game.
I really liked Detroit: Become Human.
Spider-Man Web of Shadows is the best Spiderman game.
N64 Zelda is overrated, not bad (great even), just overrated.
Horizon Zero Dawn sucks, got bored after one day.
Same for Monster Hunter World or whatever the fuck.
Portal is the best video game of all time.
Tales from the Borderlands is the best Telltale game.
And last, but not least, Sonic is not fun even when executed well.
Xbox Game Pass Ultimate is a fantastic service more people should be taking advantage of, you can literally buy subscriptions for Microsoft Reward points used from Bing searches and Game Pass Quests which incentivize you to try out new games. I never would've tried Forza Horizon 4 if not for those and now I'm hooked on it!
I think Lost Planet 3 and Dead Space 3 are great. LP made the mistake of fostering generic gameplay to weebs so when 3 was generic gameplay but a pretty good world, decent story, but not a lot of flashy anime style garbage it turned off people that liked the first two (which are mediocre). Dead Space I don't get. 3 was no more action and bluster than 2 but it's absolutely hated. It has a long, varied campaign, a few new weapons, and the awesome crafting where you aren't stuck with weapons you don't want. Any arguments it dropped horror can be pointed right back at 2, which only did horror at the end.
>Despite its flaws Siege is a super deep game that could be crazy deep if Ubi tweaked it slightly
more like if they undid most of the s2 and s3 operators. i was there when BB was launched and he was still more fun to play against than what we got after.
DUHHH CRINGE DUHHHH BRINGE???
ONIONS ONIONS SNOY
PSP Dissida >>>>>>> PS4 Dissidia
Starbound is and always has been a great game. Better than Terraria imo.
This game gets comfy adventuring and building right in so many ways that it will always be one of my all-time favorites.
jokes on you i barely play games nowadays, mostly watch streams of other people playing and read Yea Forums
DKC3 is better than 1. Disagree on X5 though.
does it increase game requirements? i just installed ds2 because ds3 had fps drops on my old pc and love the fluid framerate of ds2 but game looks dated
Finally someone says it. If the series had ended at 3, woulda been great. even though V has the best gameplay by a mile
Destiny 2 is one of the best games on the market right now.
Sonic Adventure has the best OST of any 3D Sonic game, because it isn’t overloaded with bad vocal tracks.
that oblivion is like nv while skyrim is like fallout 3?
k&l2 is actually a very decent game and i really enjoy the chaotic gunplay and visual effects
Super Mario Sunshine is the best Mario game, it has the most fluid gameplay, excellent character and enemy design, and people only hate on it because they’re bad at the game (looking at you GigaBoots)
spore was a good game
I think FO76 is better than 4 and enjoy it as a way to kill time for short periods.
PLAY THAT GAME YOU CANT REMEMBER FINISHING AND WASTE YOUR TIME YOU HACK
I'm actually fairly progressive and left-wing, I think the LGBT needs to be protected, immigrants are being exploited, my girlfriend is a bluehaired art student, I like social-democracy, and I get happy seeing people from diverse backgrounds get along.
I'm not on reddit because I can't stand the medium and because I've been here for so long that I can't get used to anything else and developed that Sam Hyde humor that is often mistaken for genuine.
But the LGBT hate threads genuinely make me somewhat upset, and I see 2016 and up Yea Forums as a very unfortunate change of events, fairly unpleasant to be in, and a good reason to usually stick to slow boards such as /vr/ and /vg/.
Woah, that's a nice outfit. Gave me an artistic inspiration kick and now I wanna draw it.
Any pictures where you can see it fully?
