Wandering Flame is my favorite Final Fantasy track.
Together with X's world it creates such weird atmosphere.

idk why but city is the game in the series i've replayed quite a bit, even though it really isn't that good. i think the story, movement, and combat do just enough to be entertaining for me. i'm not sure why i haven't gone back to asylum as often

FFX is kinda like RE4. It's good and fun, even great, but it killed the series.

I think the last of us has the best acting and direction of any modern Western game and although I don't think the gameplay is amazing I think it's pretty good and Yea Forumsirgins are more critical of it because it was such a successful game.

But FF11 and 12 are also great

This is scripted. There is no projectile that physically leaves the barrel of the gun, making aiming offscreen impossible unlike in VR and militar simulators etc which actually fire a projectile that has its position tracked to target. RDR2 (and every shitty Rockstar game) uses hitscane. Even the beloved Hue simulator Max Payne 3 uses hitscan where the bullets don't fire from the end of the barrel, but rather from the center of the third person cameara allowing you to shoot around corners and other such nonsense like with the gun aimed up from standing too close to something yet bullets still fly forward. Garbage scripted walking simulators.

A shame the initial amazing and unique premise is thrown out the window turning it into a generic "defeat the big bad dude and rebel against the corrupt authority!" I still love the characters, music, and the mix of fully 3D backgrounds with pre-rendered backgrounds.

Feel like people shitting on this game is a new thing. Sure it's not as smooth as SOTN but only now are 3D action games starting to become as smooth as pixel art 2D games. For the time Castlevania 64 was great, looks and sounds good, runs good (rare fucking thing for a N64 game), and plays good. Sure it takes a bit to get used too but once you are it almost feels like the NES games with how it's setup with it's weighty combat.

Starting from 6 yes, they were entirely spearheaded to go in on direction.
Before that there was some semblance of openendedness, and of course in the end there was one route, there was the sense you could go anywhere and do anything.
I still would argue up to X you had this feature and promise there was more to the map.
Don't get it twisted though, FFX is in my top 5 games, just it was the start of the fall for FF.

I don't outright hate it, but I can't get into any Final Fantasy games. I've played this through to Yunalesca and have yet to finish it. I dislike that all the maps are linear and there isn't really any reward from grinding/exploring. I really want to play Final Fantasy 6 tonight while I watch Evangelion but it's just too damned hot to sit in front of my PC.

He acts as a guide and father figure to both Tidus and Yuna to fulfill the vows he made to Jecht/Braska and has a settle to score to get rid of the grief, anger, and guilt that's been tethering him to the living world for a decade. He's a key driving force of the entire plot. You can try to argue that he doesn't "develop" like the others just because he's already so put-together compared to the rest of the cast by the start of the story, but to say he lacks depth is blatantly incorrect.

Honestly I'm not getting anything out of this, I feel like anyone with a cracked copy of truepianos and a couple months of practice could make this.
