Too bad he got beaten up by Solid Snake and was never spoke of again.
He got to live out the rest of his days as the man he admired
He died like a warrior, on the battlefield. Solid Snake had to continue suffering. If MG 1 remake ever happens I really want to see the battle between them.
If they remake the snake and boss fight would you want it kept in line with the original game, or would you want something similar to MGS3?
Id like if it had more emotional weight and dialogue, the fight between two protagonists. So yeah I guess more like MGS3.
No he didn't.
>There are still anons who clearly haven't played all of the MGS games who think they can understand MGSV better than the anons that actually have
MGSV is the story of how Big Boss became an evil maniac by parasitically abusing his most loyal soldier (thus giving the perfect reason for his downfall), The Medic, through secretly manipulating said soldier to become his body double slave so that he can fuck off to Africa and fulfill his perpetual warmongering dream. Big Boss is the actual villain of the game, not Skullface, and The Medic is entirely his own character and there's never a single moment in the game that suggests that he's your self insert.
Even as a body double of Big Boss, The Medic still differed from Big Boss because he was weaker, mute, a nice person and even a pacifist. Plus, despite being implanted with Big Boss' memories, he hated his demon, which represents who Big Boss truly is, and he also hated war and thought that NUKES = BAD like Solid Snake and wanted to go home, evidenced by how he accepted The Boss, lovingly repaired her bandana (showing how much he appreciated her and her will, unlike Big Boss) and vowed to disarm the all the nukes in the entire world to follow her will (which is world peace and a nuke free world), which is a stark but appropriate contrast to Big Boss rejecting The Boss, her bandana, and her will, and vowing to hoard all the nukes in the entire world, since he, unlike The Medic, had no sense of morality, lusted war and thought that NUKES = GOOD. Simply put, The Medic is the antithesis of Big Boss, just like Solid Snake. Red oni, blue oni, yin and yang. Big Boss and The Medic.
(1/2)
you tell them user
(2/2)
That alone makes The Medic clearly THE SUPERIOR BIG BOSS AND THUS A BETTER MAN THAN BIG BOSS WHICH IS WHY HE DESERVED A GOOD AND HAPPY ENDING UNLIKE BIG BOSS. FACT.
The Medic is extremely honorable, selfless, generous, giving. He is also compliant, obedient and loyal to whoever he thinks his master is (which unfortunately allowed him to be tricked by Big Boss to be his shield, scapegoat and tool whose main function is to die for him and his personal benefit, this is where Solid Snake knew better not to fall for these kinds of traps). In contrast, Big Boss is savage, dishonorable, disloyal, psychopathic, rebellious, ruthless, selfish, egocentric, cold and calculative.
The tape was all about Big Boss convincing The Medic to be his slave. It was never making any inspirational sayings or thoughtful messages towards the player. It was never informing the player that "Big Boss is really a 100% nice, altruistic, benevolent, charitable, giving, kind-hearted, ingenuous, sweet, selfless and good guy and he'll prove it by giving the ability to officially roleplay AND be recognized as Big Boss to you, since you wanted to. Now do him a favor and put that role to good use so that you and him can help change the world, make a mark on history, and finish the story and legend of Big Boss, together". It was to get The Medic to go against his beliefs and do what he wants like the good little doll he is, you're never supposed to actually take anything from it seriously.
It is not a bunch of willy nilly roleplaying meta bullshit where Big Boss is some sort of "meta deity". Don't take any word from the same 3-4 autists that have been circulating Yea Forums for the past week who think otherwise.
>It is not a bunch of willy nilly roleplaying meta bullshit where Big Boss is some sort of "meta deity". Don't take any word from the same 3-4 autists that have been circulating Yea Forums for the past week who think otherwise.
You're still here, spewing your retarded bullshit?
Get the fuck out, none of what you're saying is valid at all and you're only going to produce more brainlets.
I reject Kojimbo's Canon and substitute it with my own.
As far as I'm concerned Venom BiBo fled with Quiet to a tropical island where they spent the rest of their days fucking like bunnies.
Brainlet tier Kojima internet defense force
Everything he says is right though
Don't tell me that you're one of those 3-4 retarded autists that he mentioned who believe that MGSV was entirely meta and all about "Big Boss LARPing".
those are facts straight from the game, try to prove him wrong I dare you. You will get your shit pushed in.
>him
You. Plus we've already proven your shitpost wrong on several occasions. Use the archive and search for your copypasta
not me
This just in
The majority of Yea Forums will automatically believe in the first thing they're told about X without checking and reject everything that contradicts it, also without checking
We're doomed.
You literally aren't quoting your original copypasta post to show that it isn't you, brainlet.
yeah sorry thought I was quoting it, here
Daily reminder that Snake is a nickname for and that "Big Boss" is his character name.
This means that Venom Snake is a nickname despite how Ocelot treats it as a codename and that "Big Boss' phantom" is the body double's character name.
Personally I think big boss saw the destruction his fame brought him when mother base was destroyed for the first time and decided it would be best to set up a proxy, ie. Venom. This would deter people away from him and his plans?
who cares
Yeah, yeah you phone posted or opened another browser. Whatever.
That copy pasta has still been debunked at least 20 times by now and you're not gonna troll me any further. Play the fucking game and you'll understand all the places you went wrong.
>Yeah, yeah you phone posted or opened another browser. Whatever.
Maybe, but you have no proof, so thats invalid
How convenient that you just now when its demanded of you refuse to give any further argument, well I guess thats the end of it
Zero created the body double
not Big Boss
Holy shit
I'm and , MORONS.
Oh shoot really? Was zero and big boss working together at any point? I'm trying really hard to understand the story of the patriots and how they did things through some of the games and I'm confused as fuck.
I literally typed out responses to that which BTFO your stupid shit when you made it an OP a couple hours ago. You just ignored it.
Here's your TLDR: Murata and Kojima specifically said that Venom is you and Venom has your name and birthday in game. He is also not weak nor a pacifist.
Okay if you're so smart, explain the flaming whale.
psycho mantis enhancing Volgins power, wow so fucking hard. He makes the fucking Metal Gear work, something like this is easy for him.
Kojimbo smoked some weed and read the cliff notes of Moby Dick.
>why a whale
>because volgin
>why a whale
>because weed
>why a whale
YOU MASSIVE FUCKING RETARD BECAUSE THE WHOLE CHAPTER 1 AND ONE OF THE CENTER THEMES OF MSGV IS REVENGE LITERALLY WHAT THE FUCKING IS MOBY DICK YOU BRAINLET
>Moby-Dick; or, The Whale is an 1851 novel by American writer Herman Melville. The book is sailor Ishmael's narrative of the obsessive quest of Ahab, captain of the whaling ship Pequod, for revenge on Moby Dick, the giant white sperm whale that on the ship's previous voyage bit off Ahab's leg at the knee.
GEE I WONDER user WHAT COULD THE WHALE MEAN, AHAB, PEQUOD, ISHAMEL SOUND ANY FAMILIAR
VENOM SNAKE
VOLGIN
SKULLFACE
ALL FUELED MY MEANINGLESS REVENGE
Seriously, could the MGS fanbase GET ACTUALY ANY AND I A TRULY MEAN ANY DUMBER, just the lowest of lowest
I never said that The Medic was weak, pinhead. I said that The Medic was weaker than Big Boss. FACT.
It's so obvious why that is. The next main villain that Solid Snake fights is always stronger than the last. Solid Snake fights The Medic before Big Boss. Also, The Medic needs a bionic prosthetic to even physically do the same things that Big Boss can do. Those two FACTS prove how, once again The Medic was weaker than Big Boss, making it FACT.
If you didn't get a single thing from that explanation, consider going back to plebbit.
>ANGRY TYPING NOISES
ok so all the codenames were chosen by people behind the scenes (zero/ocelot/whatever) so this is like zero choosing "major tom" but mantis made the flaming horse based on snakes implanted memories about the boss and her horse (and the statue at dekelia) which makes sense within the game's world because its relevant to the characters and comes from their intense feelings but then you say mantis taps into volgin and makes a whale eat a helicopter because kojima wants us to think about melville while we play.. doesn't match up. try again/
Everything you just wrote is pulled straight from your ass. Also good job ignoring everything else because you have no argument.
Lmao good job theory rafting though.
You made me angry alright but you cant bait me that far
>Preconceived notions always decide everything about X
You're an idiot.
>Everything you just wrote is pulled straight from your ass.
Nuh uh
Liquid Snake was specifically made for Solid to have to fight a main villain that is stronger than Big Boss
>trusting big boss
>ever
>giving up
that's okay. you wouldnt have been able to answer the followup anyway: why put the moby dick symbolism into the KJP studio trailer?
Moron
The Boss' will was "don't change the world and respect everyone's will"
Now you're just posting gibberish. You think there's some sort of correlation there, but that's just because you forgot to take your pills.
Also Venom doesn't need a bionic arm to "do what Naked does" that's you going full retard. Naked snake can't fire lightning out of his fingertips or launch his biological arm like a rocket to punch people at range.
Take your pills.
Venoms not weaker than Big Boss at all regardless of what you sperg you fuckface.
How many times do I have tell you this to get you to shut up with your outright lies
>His concept art shows that he's as physically strong as Big Boss
His concept art shows that he's as physically strong as Big Boss
>His concept art shows that he's as physically strong as Big Boss
His concept art shows that he's as physically strong as Big Boss
The whale was venom's manifestation you retard
That's why Mantis has his horn when the whale appears
why is it so much fun to argue about MGSV, how long can we keep it up, its been years
snake eater final battle between boss and snake was fucking stupid
just sayin
Let's decide this once and for all.
Did Venom love her?
My idea for a remake battle:
-Instead of taking place in a random room, it takes place on top of a tower overlooking Outer Heaven with a bunch of crates and various other things (Similar to the final battle in MG1, but different spot).
>Choices you make during your playthrough determine how Venom reacts to you. Play with stealth and no kills, he doesn't hate you and tries to just chill with you. Play through with some kills and he is somewhat hostile but understanding. Play with a high amount of kills and he sneaks up on you when you get to the roof and holds you up.
>Boss battle is a brutal CQC beatdown with him switching strategies as the battle goes on, sometimes using guns or stealth, sometimes going straight CQC, etc.
>I know some people will hate this idea, but have it a a dual battle with both Venom and DD. With DD you can choose to ignore him or kill him, which impacts the cutscene afterward.
>Venom activates the self destruct sequence at the end of the battle.
That was my idea if they ever did a FOX Engine remake of MG1.
>accurate and provides evidence
much better answer than the screaming buttholes above.
yeah, the flaming whale is manifested and swallows up a helicopter. symbolic of the paz bomb. the moment where big boss's and medic's lives fuse together. it ties into how the medic mantifests paz onto the medical platform. bb wants revenge for the ambush (and venom has those shared memories) but in addition, medic's personal white whale is his guilt about not saving paz, so he imagines her alive, while he obsessively hunts for the truth about it.
I like that alot, its a goddamn shame it will never happen like this
That actually sounds great. The only thing I would disagree with is having Venom judge Solid's actions.
Venom isn't really defined enough as a character to go passing judgment like that. I feel like he should be that hostile but understanding but also world-weary from everything he's been through and done. To him Solid should be just another exceptional young lad about to be pulled through the meat grinder (like he himself was at MSF)
I wish Outer Heaven was real, I wish I could sign up
>outer heaven
>this is what newfags actually call it
nonono haha
Venom is a good person, he's way better than Big Boss for sure. He's a true hero, who Big Boss never was. To me, he's the true Big Boss.
He's literally the only character in MGSV, aside from Ocelot, who doesn't seem to be driven by revenge.
At first he has absolutely no idea what to, which is why he follows Ishmael's lead, then he does what Ocelot tells him to, and then finally what Kaz does; he sends him after Skullface and Venom does it because apparently that's what he's supposed to do, but along the game you start seeing the differences between him and Big Boss, and that, in fact, it turns out that Venom is the complete opposite of Big Boss in many ways.
The one going on about revenge and killing Skullface is Kaz.
In fact, Venom seems more in this to stop Skullface because he's a threat to the world and he would achieve the opposte of what Venom wants.
Skullface would be basically handing out nukes to everyone, that's the main motivation Venom has to go after him.
Yes, Venom wants a world without nukes and thus aims for nuclear disarmament. Of course the nuclear disarmament ending is not canon because we know the world isn't nuke free after MGSV, but it gives more insight into what he wants, and what his goal is. He has his own interpretetation of The Boss' will. Big Boss completely rejected this.
Hell, everytime people are angry and shouting Venom always intervenes and tries to calm everyone down.
He hasn't done anything wrong, the "demon" he sees himself and that he claims he has to drive out of him is just Big Boss himself.
It's also why the first thing that happens after Big Boss himself tells him that he is Big Boss too in the ending, is him looking in the mirror and seeing himself as a demon, which, up until now, only happened whenever he did something he felt it was evil and felt guilty of, like when he had to kill all those soldiers in the Quarantine platform.
This is basically everything else I have to say about him.
>stark but appropriate contrast to Big Boss rejecting The Boss, her bandana, and her will, and vowing to hoard all the nukes in the entire world, since he, unlike The Medic, had no sense of morality, lusted war and thought that NUKES = GOOD.
They turned him into an anti-establishment terrorist in this one? What the fuck kojimbo
The one thing I dont understand is how Venom became his evil self in MG1. Does he just accept being bad at the end of MGSV? I think a remake of MG1 would shed some light on this.
I want this fight to also have a second phase Demon Snake. Where he would only use CQC and the various powers of his bionic arm but be much stronger and faster. It could be very Kino if he transitions to that form with the shrapnel pushing out of his head into that horn and then blood gushing from that area to cover his face. Solid now has to exorcize the demon of Venom's guilt, the sorrow he refused to scatter to the heartless sea
Oh, also, one more thing:
>B-b-but Venom wanted to be brainwashed to be Big Boss, he wanted all this horrible stuff that he faced in V to happen to him! Ocelot when talking about Venom being brainwashed said "Remember, he wanted it" to Big Boss.
What the hell would Ocelot know?
He doesn't even know who Venom is, he never met him back when he was still his own soldier.
That's just manipulation.
Venom never had a chance to agree to it, he never did, and in fact, he constantly sees himself as a demon for it.
Hell, Venom's own actions show that he thinks very differently from Big Boss.
Big Boss has been shown to stop at nothing to achieve what he wants.
Venom saw himself as a demon after killing his own men and in fact, you even literally become a demon if you kill soldiers in the game constantly.
Meanwhile, Big Boss had no problem with using an entire hospital full of innocents as a human shield, he doesn't even have respect for his own men seeing how he had no problem with brainwashing Venom, his best soldier.
Venom on the other hand, is pacifist whenever possible. He spared the child soldiers and instead of using them, he tried to give them a normal life. He spares Quiet and Huey, and when he finally gets his hands on the Sahelanthropus, he doesn't use it, he just keeps it as a trophy and a reminder that they saved the world, that they are heroes.
He doesn't want to use it because he knows how dangerous it is.
Big Boss would have done the opposite of all of this because he has already done that, and in fact, we know he eventually does similar things in the future.
Big Boss' aim isn't to save the world, its to plunge it into eternal war.
And lastly, lets not forget this.
youtu.be
In the speech Venom talks to The Boss, he interprets her will, and aims to "drive out his demons" and make the world a better place.
Big Boss, as I said, not only doesn't want to make the world better, but he already rejected The Boss will in PW.
>more dumb bullshit
Jesus christ, who tainted you brainlets to think like brainlets?
based
brainlet
Care to say anything that actually contributes to the discussion?
BIG PARAGRAPHS MAKE ME BIG BRAIN, YOU SMALL BRAIN
>Venom on the other hand, is pacifist whenever possible
STOP
SPREADING
LLLLIIIIIIIIIIIIIIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
I actually played V. Did you?
Surely then you remember how Venom butchered an entire Soviet armored brigade in A Quiet Exit and you've heard the dialog between Soviet soldiers about how Venom fights "like a demon" and is slaughtering countless troops.
In that speech Venom talks to Big Boss, not The Boss. That's why he says "we" must persevere. The Boss is dead and the only knowledge Venom could have of her is John's mommy issues implanted in his mind.
Still doesn't undermine him attempting to give the child soldiers a normal life instead of putting them on the battlefield as murdering machines, sparing Quiet and Huey, and not using Sahelanthropus because of how dangerous, harmful and MURDEROUS it is.
He accepts his role as an extension of Big Boss' will, and when Big Boss decides he's going to openly rebel against the Patriots with Outer Heaven and Metal Gear, Venom goes along with it.
He was autistic and couldn't recognize that she wanted him to impregnate her
>In that speech Venom talks to Big Boss, not The Boss
Numbskull, he's obviously talking to The Boss in that speech, everyone who heard it (except apparently you) thinks this. If you didn't get that the first time you heard it, you might be brain damaged and perhaps actually retarded.
>and not using Sahelanthropus because of how dangerous, harmful and MURDEROUS it is.
Didn't Sahelanthropus literally not work and require a powerful psychic child powering it just to not collapse under its own weight?
>child soldiers
Miller's idea.
>Quiet
Makes no logical sense since she was out to kill him and the single most credible threat to him. Only makes sense if you either assume he wanted to get info on Cypher from her or that she and him had a 'love at first sight' moment.
>Huey
Only got spared because Venom didn't believe he'd survive until Miller said it and in order to preserve continuity (Huey later gets cucked to death by his son)
>Sahelanthropus
He couldn't use it even if he wanted to, it's control system was incomplete and only Psycho Mantis could operate it.
What I don't get is how this is treated like it's some super far fetched idea, this was my first interpretation just from a gut reaction to the ending on my first playthrough. Kaz feels like the devil on venoms shoulder and ocelot seems like the cool, calm collected puppeteer the entire time, which people say is out of character, but in reality, it's not. Ocelote been pulling the strings since mgs 1, he's perfectly in character.
Responses like Confuse me so fucking much, the game isn't that fucking hard to grasp and yet this is being treated like saying earth is flat
The top comments in that very YouTube video are pointing out that he's talking to John and the people who think he has any connection to The Boss and is literally asking her corpse to rise from the grave to help him stop nuclear proliferation are brainlets.
He did. He got to be Big Boss.
Of course it didn't literally work without Psycho Mantis, but have you even listened to, well, the tapes?
In one specific tape, he says that even if he could get it working without Mantis, he doesn't want to because of, once again, how dangerous, harmful and MURDEROUS it is. He simply wants to keep it as a trophy and a reminder that he, as a HERO, saved the world. Once again, he's a pacifist whenever possible. Deal with it, you cannot deny this.
Also: about me saying earlier that he's "a true hero, who Big Boss never was", said tape, the one that I just talked about above, proves why, because it shows that he intentionally dreamed, wanted and desired to be a hero, whereas Big Boss never did.
I like your theory but venom really just seems like someone with no real morals to .e>In contrast, Big Boss is savage, dishonorable, disloyal, psychopathic, rebellious, ruthless, selfish, egocentric, cold and calculative.
>believing Patriot lies
>What I don't get is how this is treated like it's some super far fetched idea
It's not. Yea Forums in general has always interpreted MGSV's story and Venom Snake like and .
No. In that tape he specifically says he wants to keep it as a memento to inspire the troops and remind them of the legacy of the Diamond Dogs.
There isn't a single point where he says it's too dangerous for them to risk it getting reactivated.
Reminder that Venom terrified the shit out of Snake and that fight was the cause of Snake's PTSD
>There isn't a single point where he says it's too dangerous for them to risk it getting reactivated.
Prove it. Directly cite the tape.
not that user but here's the tape he's talking about youtu.be
So did Arthur Morgan, but developers nowadays are obsessed with the postmodern meme
Arthur did get a happy ending, bruh.
>it was bad because he died!
You are literally Micah.
>Prove it. Directly cite the tape.
What a very subtle way to say that everything in the arguments you made in this thread is entirely invalid. Here's a (You).
Sorry faggot, but dead is dead. He lost his girl, he sacrificed himself for nothing seeing as how John and Abigail both die in a matter of years, their son becomes an outlaw, and it was all fucking pointless. Fuck off
Yep, you're an angry nihilist just like Micah. I hope you lead a fulfilling life with no meaningful relationships and thinking nothing matters because we all die in the end.
>everything in my arguments is invalid because I want you to actually bother attempting to prove that I'm right
Why do I bother talking to idiots?
that is literally not the definition of nihlism. Are you retarded?
motherfucker did you even play the game
I'm not wrong. The staff/Huey need to be kept away because Huey tries to rebuild it with the help of the kids. Venom still wants it as a trophy and morale boost, not to protect the world from it.
Micah goes on long-ass tirades about how there is no objective meaning in life and concepts such as honor and loyalty are worthless because existence is just a succession of random sensations between birth and death - nothing matters beyond living and dying. How would you describe this belief system if not nihilistic in its core philosophy?
That's what you think.
No. That's literally in the very Youtube Video you linked.
Not only that, but it's only 1 minute after the timestamp you linked. At 5:33 Ocelot asks Venom "Boss, why keep it?" and Venom responds "It's a mark" and then explains that it's a trophy that ensures the diamond dogs never fade away from history.
Now please cite for me the timestamp where Venom specifically says that he is holding on to it to keep it from terrorizing the world because it's "dangerous, harmful and MURDEROUS". I'll wait because it never happens and you're lying.
Hell, even in the timestamp linked there, if you listen for just another 10 seconds Venom clarifies that the reason Huey needs to be kept away from it is that he's obsessed with it and Ocelot concurs because his "crush on Sahelanthropus is beyond a joke".
Nigger, I'm saying Arthur DIED for nothing, not that Arthur's life up until that point was bereft of meaning. I was fucking rooting for Arthur the entire fucking game until it all came crashing down with Consumption WHAT A TWEEST ending.
John got to live a pretty good life for like 10 years after Arthur died.
Didn't he only really get a 1 or 2 good years and the rest of drifting with his family from town to town as he ended up fucking up their situation causing them to have to leave again?
and by staring his imminent mortality in the face, something caused by his own evil acts, Arthur woke the fuck up and realized what kind of person he was and became the best version of himself, dying to give the Marstons 12 years of a happy life they wouldn't have had otherwise.
>Series is called Red Dead Redemption
>Get mad that the series is about the protagonist achieving redemption through death
You still have yet to prove my points about the child soldiers, Quiet and Huey right or wrong.
Moving around isn't so bad, they would all be lucky not to die of tb themselves back then, and that Easter egg in la noir shows that jack writes a book called rdr, so hopefully he gives up his outlaw stuff after killing Ross. Arthur was going to die regardless, he tried his best before he died. Micah is a bitch fag.
Read what I wrote. The children are Miller's idea, Quiet is not because he's a nice guy (although you can also kill her so that shits on your argument too) and Huey was to avoid a retcon.
Also thank you for finally admitting that im right and you're wrong about the Sahelanthropus thing. You could be more humble about it and apologize for blatantly lying, but I accept your consession of defeat at least.
I like the way you're trying to follow Kojima's theme of "creating context" and manipulating the public by way of spreading fake news. Very meta of you, but alas Yea Forums is too autistic to fall for your plan. MGSfags are the most obsessive autist out there and you can't manipulate us
>Huey was to avoid a retcon.
Bullshit. MGSV is perfectly fine with making retcons, especially when Kojima was going for a full retcon of the series. The events of Ground Zeroes and Phantom Pain, especially the last bit of dialogue between Kaz and Ocelot, make the events of MG1 and MG2 impossible to happen.
Are..... you..... retarded?
>The children are Miller's idea
So? Venom didn't go against Miller's idea, which shows that he liked Miller's decision better, proving once again that he is a pacifist whenever possible since he spared the child soldiers through giving them a chance at normal life instead of using them as murdering machines. Big Boss would have done the latter, since he's scum.
Sperg and defend yourself all you want, but you'll have to submit to me at some point and admit that he's what said:
>"the antithesis of Big Boss, just like Solid Snake. Red oni, blue oni, yin and yang. Big Boss and The Medic."
In other words, the opposite of Big Boss.
Faggot, no.
1. Thanks to "Peace Walker" Big Boss is widely known, at least in military/intelligence circles, to be a warlord/mercenary leader. So him just joining back the American military, especially after the events of "Ground Zero", make little to no sense.
2. Additionally, when Huey is exiled in "Phantom Pain", Miller lampshades that he will tell the world that Big Boss is a warlord (Huey does not know about Venom). Once again, this makes Big Boss being a "shadow figure" impossible.
3. By the end of "Phantom Pain" Miller knows the truth about Venom and Outer Heaven, grows to despise Big Boss, and swears to help Venom and the clones take Big Boss to Hell. Therefore:
- He would never allow Solid to join Foxhound.
- He would never allow Solid to go against Venom, whom he is loyal to. Plus, he knows Venom is not Big Boss.
-. Miller would actively seek out both Liquid and Solidus.
Different user here, I would say with what was showed in the cut level, the plan was to have venom eventually turn into an asshole similar to Walter white, but the game is only half finished so what we get is some guy who's saving children and stuff.
Miller wasn't in Metal Gear 1, but I see your point. I always thought it would've made more sense if Kazuhira Miller was George Kessler from Metal Gear 2 instead, since unlike Master Miller, Kessler actually had a history with Big Boss before Peace Walker.
imagine making an entire game to fill a plothole no one asked for
It also does show, implicitly how big boss has turned evil.
the end of 3 gave bibo all the motivation he needed to become mg1 bibo. peace walker also did a good job and showing boss turn into a cold hearted mercenary. he actively rejected the boss's will in that game. all this game shows is bibo abandoning characters that weren't in the original metal gear for his own gain. V wasn't needed
>- He would never allow Solid to join Foxhound.
>- He would never allow Solid to go against Venom, whom he is loyal to.
I'm sorry, but I can't help laughing at how braindead you are.
Retcons like that would completely erase MG1, MG2, MGS1, MGS2 and MGS4 from existence.
MG1, MG2, MGS1, MGS2 and MGS4 being erased from existence cannot coexist with MGSV's timeline mentioning details those games.
At this point, I'm going to consider all of the arguments you made/are making in this thread invalid. I've been willing to argue with you up until this point, where I'm starting to realize that everything you spew is bullshit and you'll still continue to spew bullshit even when I tell you that you're entirely wrong and that you should think about how you're actually understanding the game backwards.
Well you could say none of the games are "needed" they got made because people want more of it. Big boss is responsible for all the people who were killed in the hospital, for having stolen venoms life and having him execute tons of innocent soldiers in their base, recruiting child soldiers to name a few things.
from those games*.
He enabled a psychopath.
You made Big Boss sound even better then ever, it's a fucking shame we couldn't play as him again in the last Metal Gear.
nah I wouldn't compare the necessity of the earlier games to V. V served no purpose. the earlier games continued some sort of story. V existed to try to answer questions and expand on earlier events which no one asked for which didnt answer much and created more questions. Why do I need a whole other game to tell me how much of an asshole big boss is? I know he's an asshole in mg1 and the end of peace walker. I'd even play devils advocate and say it should've stopped at mgs2
>Making conclusions about Venom overall without recognizing the flaw that even though you know 100% about his 52-year old self, you know only 0.00001% about his 64-year old self
Wretched, arduous birdbrains, TPP Venom is more synonymous to GZ and TPP (since a coma effectively is a pause button for mental development) Big Boss than Metal Gear 1 and 2 Big Boss.
None of them "serve a purpose" they're made to make money just like anything else, v certainly didn't taint the lore. All the added questions can probably be answered through implicit details.
ITT: Retards who can't understand that Truth ending scene is supposed to be metaphorical.
If you think Venom literally smashed a mirror when he put a tape in an MSX2 in 1984 (BEFORE THE MSX2 WAS EVEN RELEASED) with fog coming out of nowhere afterwards, you're dumb as a rock and likely mentally challenged to the point where you should seriously consult a doctor.
>it's supposed to be m-metaphorical
you sound like a poz d skit right now
So what did that mean?
It's strange how in a movie that scene would be interpreted entirely metaphorically but for some reason in video games people take it as the ground truth.
Have you ever heard of the word "meta"? Learn it so that hopefully, you can stop making yourself look like a fool.
he deserved to be put down like the rabid dog he was
Man I really hated how you couldnt be a warmonger in this game such a missed opportunity.
>Prove that the truth ending is clearly metaphorical because it obviously, in a Kojima-like fashion has metaphorical elements and things that wouldn't make sense in reality (not even statements like "it's just Venom hallucinating!!1" can prove that wrong)
>"Y-you sound like a poz d skit right now!"
What an imbecile.
I mean purpose within the metal gear universe, not outside it. v does not add any significant plot points. it's a self contained story which begs to ask why make it? 3 had a purpose which was origin. that added a lot to the story and big boss's character. what does v add? nothing. it adds nothing. no, big boss being an asshole is not important. we already knew he was an asshole. pw too should not have been made but even that showed the creation origins of outer heaven. V added so many useless characters they forgot to connect them to the story. skullface adds nothing and adds more questions regarding the snake eater operation. young liquids story and young psycho mantis knowing each other as kids does not match with mgs1 story. the Cobra unit using wolbachia messes with its own continuity as code talker was discovered by skull face after snake eater so why would CT ever be in contact with them. the only answer we get is how there were 2 big bosses. we placed a small bandaid on a blown up bridge and called it a day.
Hey there, it seems to me like you didn't understand the ending of the game, so allow me to clarify things for you.
See, what's happening is that Mother Base is getting "noticed" by the world, so the US government is planning on getting involved. A guy working for the FOXHOUND unit, code-named "Big Boss", is chosen to lead his team to try and find incriminating evidence for WMDs on this Mother Base, which would allow for justified intervention.
Big Boss, walking a fine line, had no choice but to reveal to Venom Snake the truth, and give him a warning to prepare for Operation Intrude N313. During this conversation, Venom realizes that he's been played the entire time, and that he's serving in a "phantom" role while the real Big Boss gets the titles and accolades of being a military hero. The tape for Operation Intrude was played on an MSX2 computer.
Now, here's the "meta" you missed. The MSX2 is the system the original Metal Gear was played on. The implications of Venom walking into blackness represents that Venom has no future, because he's going to die soon, which is his voluntary choice. He allows the rookie, code-named Solid Snake, to get into the center of Mother Base, destroy the Metal Gear, and lets himself get discovered as Big Boss, the one who is working for an organization that is anti-American. Then, with his dying breath, he reveals to Solid through a radio frequency that he's "still alive". The "meta" is that Venom retaliated against Big Boss' betrayal by destroying almost everything Venom had built up that BB was going to swoop in and claim, while also turning BB into a terrorist so he could no longer be comfy state-side.
>I'm under trouble, so I'm going to send a tape to my body double so that I can tell him that I am the original Big Boss and that he must now die for me
No.
>The implications of Venom walking into blackness represents that Venom has no future
No. Venom walking into blackness strictly and merely implies that there are two Big Bosses that are going on their own accord; John and the player.
>The "meta" is that Venom retaliated against Big Boss' betrayal by destroying almost everything Venom had built up that BB was going to swoop in and claim, while also turning BB into a terrorist so he could no longer be comfy state-side.
I didn't get a single thing you said there, seriously, you are too broken to even be comprehensible.
Stop sperging retarded garbage, please, I dare you. Misunderstanding the game is bad for your health!
Solid proof that the vast majority of people who play video games are (and thus, most of Yea Forums is) extreme brainlets and/or children.
Bump
>everyone still feeling that phantom pain
This thread is entirely a disaster and everyone posting in it is a confused retard.
Why is it still even up?
why did the game stop right before venom goes to fight snake. kojima shows that scene in outer heaven so many times it pisses me off. really big missed opportunity to have a boss fight with solid snake at the end of mgsv
Has there been any official interviews by any of the previous devs or Konami after the game's release?? About anything including the games unreleased content, fan theories, etc..
>ckk.ai
Sorry that url shrinker I used sucks snake balls.
Whats the fucking point of playing MGSV if its not even the real Big Boss that you're playing as? Literally the best selling point for this game and its just some random medic guy instead. Kojima is a fucking hack.
unironically this I have to pretend that im playing as boss while im playing it so i can enjoy it
