Yup.
Splatoon 3 will not be in development, until all of the DLC for this garbage has been completed for 2 years. And Splatoon 3 will likely launch with Nintendo's next console.
I never played this casual crap (since it doesn't appeal to me in the slightest), but I heard that it was meant to be played on a daily basis, but in 15 minute bursts at a time. Nintendo treats it as if it is the best franchise in the world, while it is nothing more than a waste of time.

Only the gamecube title ever had appeal. You lived in a small town that was very rough around the edges and the animal neighbors were mostly assholes and most npcs just wanted to fuck you over or at least give you some kind of reality check. But they were still nice enough so the village was wholesome and comfy. You had some great extras like being able to get NES consoles as furniture that had entire NES roms on them that you could play.
With the 3DS game literally everything worthwhile about the series got removed. Only the mobile game tier chore simulator gameplay remains.

The only good thing about the series is that I can beat up that stupid dog and stoned looking villager in Mario Kart 8 and Smash. Even the Mario Kart 8 track based off of it was mediocre at best (and having a lame gimmick that didn't change anything except for the visuals).

I love both AC and Splat but there is no fucking way there should be more than one splat game on a single system. Nintendo is retarded for not supporting it until the end of the switch's life, however.
The ideal situation would be splat3 comes as a release title whilst splat2 still receiving occasional balance updates and new weapons. AC comes out early-mid lifetime of the system.

They wanted to copy what was on the Wii U, which was released when the system was almost dead (and along with Mario Maker, kept the system a zombie that year).
But of course, they released Splatoon 2 right at the beginning of the Switch's lifecycle, and instead of it being fed more and more content to keep interest in the series high, they abandoned it for this gay furry faggot shit.
The next Nintendo system is a good 5 years away AT THE VERY LEAST, and there is NOTHING stating that they will release Splatoon 3 on launch day, or support it when the game picks up more mainstream appeal (all while some 15 year old games still have highly active communities), which is absolutely retarded for a multiplayer based game. And everyone will forget about Chaos vs Order when Splatoon 3 releases, will be bashed for being "too dark", and will be killed off right before a console revision is announced (meaning much less reason to buy the online subscription thing). They could not even think about making more money from this game for paid cosmetic items to keep making billions from this game.
Instead, they want to appeal to 12 year old girls who don't know anything about Nintendo other than they made a Mario game (which they never played before).

As a long time fan, I enjoyed the series for its charming presentation and the ability to landscape, customize your home and the sort in a way you'd only see in Sims. I do miss the initial rough charm of the game, but it has really progressed into something that you can unwind too. It seems they're really expanding more of what everyone has wanted from the series in this new game so I hope it turns out good. In short, it's a collectathon dollhouse game, but with cute animals and a general really good soundtrack. Except New Leaf. I really disliked most of New Leaf's afternoon tracks compared to Wild World.

The Switch released 2 years ago. The 3DS had a lifespan of 9 years. The Wii U was killed off when it was 4 years old due to low sales (and if it were to have been a success, the Switch would be releasing in November).
The Switch is too popular to even have its next console considered. It needs 7 years at the very minimum before its successor is released. The system is 2 years old.
