The first nine hours is a 10

>the first nine hours is a 10.
>after that, the backtracking becomes infernal and lowers to a 7
>i got the first ending, which sucks and makes you realize you just wasted 20+ hours of your life, so that lowers it to a 5

It is a 8/10 game that suffers from excessive backtracking, but Celeste (another indie) was a million times more enjoyable.

Are you daft? The first few hours of Hollow Knight are the worst. Mid-game is when it becomes gold.

You dumb motherfucker. Mid-game is dull as hell, it's the endgame when things get really fun and exciting.

Mid-game is where the game surprises you the most with how expansive it is. It's the most non-linear exploratory part of the game you fuck.

And for people who go to Deepnest first after getting wall jump it's an incredibly wild ride.

>retarded zoomer plays a metroidvania
>surprised there's backtracking
kek

You fucking moron, it’s postgame when this truly shines.

You can get both endings without restarting.
Fucking brainlet.

i really like this game but the one thing that is pissing me off is that there aren't benches near the bosses. hard bosses are great, but having to walk for a minute to get to the boss only to die in 20 seconds is really annoying

>only to die in 20 seconds is really annoying
stop being shit then

have you even played celeste you fucking retard? getting all collectibles is 100% more backtracking percentage wise to what you do in a game as big as hollow knight you goddamn false flaggin homosexual.

OP here, explored all of deepnest without the map and was a wild ride indeed.

I played and finished Celeste. Dont give a fuck about 100%-ing it, I finished the story and it felt amazing. That game was really fun

>not 100%ing games
what makes you think you have the right to talk about games you havent fully experienced? are you retarded? do you stop watching a movie midway and tell people how it was pretending you went throught the whole experience?

i'd like to but its taking ages because only 16% of my tie playing the game is actually learning the boss

>Backtracking
Oh you have ADHD?

was about to post this

OP is a retard

>he sees 100% as "fully experienced"
not all games are made with the target demographics of complete fucking robots

Who over 100 hours here

>>lowers it to a 5
>it is a 8/10
What did he mean by this?
In all seriousness, if you don't like backtracking, don't play metroidvanias, and please don't make threads like this.

>never ever for the first time again

9 hours short

It never got dull for me, it's prolly an 8 or 9 / 10

What the fuck user, Celeste isn't even that good until you hit the B and C sides. Getting all the Strawberries is the only challenge you get from the mainline levels outside from learning the initial Gimmick of each level - which is usually rather simple.

Are the DLCs any good? They're all free ay? I really enjoyed it base game.

It's all free, they've been patched into the base game. They're great if you like tough boss fights.

seethe

>Backtracking is an issue in [name of game]

You would call it 'exploring' if you would use a guide to ruin your own fun.

And it was awesome in HK. 10/10 experience.
Unironically.

Less is more.

I'm with him on this one, there's too many different games I have to play.

Agreed, HK is one of my favorite games of all time

And I'm not even halfway through radianting the bosses.

People that "finish" this game in 40 hours or something are literally just rushing through everything and getting the most normietier ending possible and/or playing using a guide. Theres so much exploration and hidden shit in this game and its great.

Then where were you supposed to go? I didn't get the ground pound until i unlocked the ferry from deepnest.

And was i supposed to unlock the crystal boost before getting the double jump? I used the pickaxe bro on the ledge to gain heighr to get to the next area in crystal peak.

>start hollow knight
>first 45 minutes or so is meh
>get to Green Paths
>okay this is getting better
>get to City of Tears
>GOAT
