best RE game and you cant tell me otherwise because im closing the thread after i post this
get fucked
I replayed it recently and it's objectively not that good.
tense moment to moment gun play
gun play melds seamlessly into melee and crowd control options
even cut scenes have a unique game play element for the time
great level design
varied level design
great boss battles
top tier atmosphere
looks visually incredible for its time
the best escort ai in a game
memorable one liners and moments throughout
lengthy but not overly long
infinite replay ability
fun easter eggs
you are smalltime op
it's fun. overrated and has some big flaws, but it's still fun
remake 1 is the best re game, scrub.
The pacing is perfect.
CLAIM YOUR GUNFU
Ive played it 2 years ago only, it was fun
red 9
It certainly revamped the series perhaps when it needed it.
Now we've had enough of that they should return to classic style, even with tank controls if necessary.
my introduction to RE4 was the HD PC port from a couple years ago, it was the best shooter, nay, the best action game I have ever played
The only problem i had with the game was quicktime events desu
>if necessary.
but its not necessary
REmake 2 is only the beginning of the classic survival horror feel that RE is good for
also no modern game company would actually use tank controls in 2019 because tank controls are fucking terrible
>remake 1 is the best re game, scrub
Stay mad nostalgia faggot
I bet you were in elementary school when RE5 came out.
I'm playing it for the first time and it's great
The irony.
Right place right time. It single handedly changed third person shooters forever since nearly all TPS after it adopted over the shoulder.
Finished it last year for the first time, great game with awesome combat that has that arcade feel to it. I thought I was gonna ditch it since I heard it's basically escort quest the game but it's so well implemented you barely even notice/care bout Ashley. The levels where you get to control her are also super fun this is pretty much a perfect game imo.
Village is literally the only good area, the rest of the game is repetitive, gray, hallways. Absolute trash
This, escort stuff was in fact kinda clever decision to keep a modicum of tension instead of shitty jumpscares that immediately die to your grenade launcher. The pacing is nice, the levels and encounters are varied, the game is kinda fun to play. The story is absolute nonsense but it is silly enough to enjoy.
Castle was better than village imo
>you now remember the flying drones on military island
Because it's a good game -- until the second-half.
>god tier character and monster designs
>great mix of open ended level design and railroaded sections
>great upgrade/looting loop
>responive gunplay, situational damage and reactions on all monsters
>great graphics then and now
>tonnes of replay value
>great fucking OST
>sensational atmosphere
>among the best castles in vidya
>great boss banter
>legit scary on a first playthrough
>sheer variety. most rooms in the game are carefully considered challenges in and of themselves
>best in-combat contextual QTEs in vidya
I played REmake 1 and 2 a long time after 4 and I can totally see why people prefer the whole Ink Ribbon to save and the singular location style, but it's hard to deny Resi 4 is among the greatest games to ever grace the Earth.
Most games you have to ask the question "When does it get good", For Resident Evil 4, Metroid Prime & Ocarina of Time you don't need to ask that question because it's amazing from beginning to end
The gun play is absolute garbage though my man. What limp wrist retard prefers not being able to walk while aiming.
>oh no a large group after me, better swivel slowly around and shoot them
Played this game for the first time earlier this year, along with RE7 and RE2make. These are the only Resident Evils I've played. I own REmake, but haven't given it a fair shake.
From a newcomer's perspective, RE4 has great art design. It sounds good. The voice acting is nice. The dialogue is campy, but great. The controls are tight, and it's fun the entire way through, thanks to crunchy guns and fun enemies. The music is great. Puzzles were intuitive.
Overall, just a good game. I only played it through once, and I haven't touched the other modes, but it's definitely something I'll play again. I can speak to how faithful it is to Resident Evil as a whole, since I've only played three of them, but it's a great game.
I like that it's a cheesy action horror flick, like a fun b-movie.
I always hated quick time and escort events. RE could have done with out it. Although the QT events in this game isn't as bad as RE6.
Zoomer-tier opinion. The entire game is based around not being able to move and shoot at the same time.
>it's not realistic!
No, it's not.
it's not a shooter, it's survival horror
built for white cock
>it’s not realistic
Who are you quoting autist? Cause that sure wasn’t in my post at all. The games fun. The whole non moving shit is garbage. I don’t care how much you have to cope. It worked for 4 and dead rising but it should never make a comeback
Played it for the first time in 2018 as my first RE game
It's literally the best TPS game ever made.
>i dont get thing so its because i was not there to play it then
fucking hell
fire a gun while moving and then report back.
>the gunplay is garbage
>it worked for 4
Can't even get your own opinion straight.
Blocked.
>It's literally the best TPS game ever made.
Cry me a river fat boy.
Why? Has nothing to do with video games, should I fight spics infected with parasites too?
>It's literally the best TPS game ever made.
Second after pic related
The inventory system in this game is literally perfect for people with ocd.
Great pacing and set pieces, tense tank control 3rd person gameplay that still holds up, lots of replayability/unlocks. Nu-RE2 is my favorite now, but 4 is always such a good time to play through again. I'm hoping when they are done with Nu-RE3 they do another game 3rd person game with an economy in it.
Wonder if they’ll keep the dodging controls the original re3 had
RE4 has more weapons, several enemy types instead of just one, enemies react to where they are shot like say in the leg or arm instead of entering a generic pain state, projectiles can be shot mid air, guns have varying levels of penetration, I know these images are usually bait but people are stupid enough to believe them sometimes.
>changed the industry
>still holds up
Gee I wonder
Killer 7
>should I fight spics infected with parasites too?
yes
Is that the one that can go through enemies? My friend liked that one, but I was a red9 man myself.
TE VOY HACER PICCADILLO
because it's a genuinely fun game
organizing your inventory is so much fun :3
upgraded red9 is the best
No, that's the Punisher. The Blacktail has high stats across the board, and the higgest potential DPS of any handgun. I find most of the alternatives more fun to use, but it's a good weapon.
One of the things I really like about RE4 is that nearly all of the weapons have something going for them. They're pretty well balanced while remaining distinct from each other.
RE1 10/10
RE2 9/10
RE3 8/10
RECV 9/10
REmake 9/10
RE0 8/10
RE4 10/10
RE5 9/10
Revelations 8/10
RE6 9/10
Revelations 2 8/10
RE7 8/10
RE2make 9/10
