Took me a whole day to find the hardware IDs and redownload all the right drivers and then reinstall it all and then clean his PC of shit he randomly clicks on.

She's not a supervillain though. She literally knew better for him. Ignoring the odd master plan for his life, she knew what was best for everyone since everyone in the family never thought long term. Lois was right. Malcolm WILL become president, but before it he will have lived a life of sweat and toil and he will be a better man for it and as a result make a better country. If he had took the job he would have lived an easy cushy life. It would have been better for Lois and Hal had Malcolm took the job because he would doubtless helped them out financially. They chose the greater good.

I wouldn't say that she took away the free will of any of them. She was just a parent that was always looking for long term for everyone. If Malcolm wanted that job he could have called and cleared up the misunderstanding of her turning the offer for him(iirc she called behind his back). The same goes for Francis throughout the series besides being sent off to military school. She was just being a parent.. just a power hungry one.
