Jannies hate him.
I can't be the only autist that stared at this and other backgrounds in SM64 and wondered what was over there. Or, in this instance, what world lay above the surface of the water.
Klonoa
minecraft
The spammer autist has found a new 'tism. Get ready for another two hundred of these threads, I guess.
Antichamber.
Obduction.
Who's more autistic, the guy posting these threads or the guy archiving him doing it?
I did that a lot. Looking at the distance and wondering what it was like. Even in games with cities I look at apartment buildings and wonder what might be inside
Dropping a NaissianceE reccomendation because one always shows up on these threads
Can't say I finished it though. Got about half way and stopped, the atmosphere is a bit too lonely and creepy for me.
Plus Risk of Rain 2's new update is so much fun, and I'd rather run around fucking up a planet hopped up on salvaged SCPs than trudge around BLAME!'s setting but with all the Safeguard on vacation.

You.
Maybe this game was 3deep5me, but I got extremely bored in the first 10 minutes and uninstalled. w/e
Thanks for the you desu senpai onions
A single player Minecraft world with the right shader pack really is one of the most immersive lonely experiences you can have. Especially in VR, you really feel lost in another world.
Certain parts of Inside.

At least they're nice threads this time instead of just bitching about Apex or whatever
for the life of me i can't remember the name of the game, but it was a puzzle game where you had to look at glowing light-blue orbs in a first-person perspective
the only game that has ever made me physically ill and i remember looking it up and it made several people physically ill
i want to pee in that pool
strong perfect dark vibes from this
pneuma: breath of life
>search Fireden for posts
>take screenshot of said posts to save for documentation
It's pretty fucking autistic
Unfinished Swan
You just have to enjoy the atmosphere and the architecture, there's nothing 2deep about it senpai. It's short too
I highly recommend Kentucky Route Zero, one of my fav games even if most people at Yea Forums seems to hate it or not even know about it
Also chapter 5 never ever
Not the guy who posted it but...
>see a million threads
>do a quick search to prove it
>post a screencap
How much effort do you really believe this takes? Your bar for autism is so very low.
Not really
It's just a click away
Whoa bro, taking a screencap of the menu? So autistic!
He is literally self documenting it by remembering these threads and screen shotting it. You can defend it all you want but it makes me laugh that he has the gaul to call someone autistic posting a thread when he's taking the time to memorize and post about it. It is an autist complaining about another autist.
Umihara Kawase.
Waifu kids aside, this game is bizarre in a very charming way. There are no people, just fish with legs, and the backgrounds used are just odd.
If you see the same screencap with the same text a dozen times, of course you remember it. You don't "take time to memorize it" you just fuckin remember. That's how memory works, stupid.
Are you the OP? Are you trying to guilt him out of calling you on your bullshit? Also:
>gaul
You picked an odd thread to complain about, didn't you?
So what if OP is autistic or not? This is a video game thread, and ONLY a video game thread.
Are you and the other dude just acting out in hopes that you can stamp it out?
SEETHING
HOLY SHIT THANK YOU. I had forgotten about this game. I remember playing like 5 years ago.
Hey OP, the game you're searching for is called Morrowind
>lonely
Game is filled with NPC's and enemies
Obviously Yume Nikki
How many time will you make this thread?
>tfw playing on all of those cool maps just like those on garry's mod or the neat maps made for RP servers on singleplayer, and getting this immense loneliness and existential dread, and sadness knowing that normally they would be full of people, and you'll never be playing on them with other people during the golden age of garry's mod
Imagine going into one of the few threads about videogames, complaining about it, and then having other people defend you because it's not autistic enough.
This is why Yea Forums is, and always will be, shit.
>fire up gmod
>download all the old maps i used to play
>wander around soaking in the memories
Old Source maps are so soulful.
Minecraft with ray tracing.
I did this. Even a boring, symmetrical house on the outside could have an interesting interior. I always wanted to look inside. Also, whenever there was a house mid construction, me and my cousin would go explore it at night.
>Got Garrys Mod years ago
>Played it once for half an hour
>Never picked it up again
I feel I missed out in doing this. I've seen all these old videos of people having so much fun on servers and if I go and play them now they'll be abandoned and eerie.
What IS the right shader pack?
Its one of the things i loved about Miyazaki games, you almost never say "i wonder whats there?", no you actually go there and there is shit to explore.
there is something really lonely about the mall in vice city.
At least he is taking about games. Why don't you go bother Witcher posters or something
Titanfall 2 training mission
I always downloaded a tonne of maps, especially abstract and weird ones, and just spent hours exploring them.

>eventually decide to explore the map
>turns out I'm on a medium sized island in the middle of a fucking huge ocean
>plan to leave on an expedition to explore the world and never come back to this place
>computer crashes and my world is gone
Always back your shit up people. I miss that lonely world. I gave myself the backstory that I was a shipwreck survivor due to the circumstances and that island was the creepiest thing I'd encountered in the game due to mostly being swamps and hills.
Nothing wrong with calling out some retard spammer who posts the same thread over and over
Beat me to it. I love the nine realms a lot. The reckoning is extremely interesting. I'm glad to see Bungie can still make great areas and atmosphere.
I remember back when people had to request threads to be archived and people had to vote to get it archived so only the best threads appeared in the archive
same, i sucked at trials and only saw the ending area by getting carried, but overall i think Destiny is super overlooked, can't wait for the steam release honestly to hop back in
Dan Bell is that you?
Enjoyed this, used to play the same way
>build small shelter, collect equipment and build boats to prepare for journey
>find a large river, make a map, sail down the river and along coastlines as the map filled in
>make a new home, build a road to previous home
>repeat the process
I love MLP! MLP is great!
People see the shady business and secondhand gripes over the grindy gameplay, and unfortunately never really get to see what makes it so neat out of disdain. I hope New Light and the Steam release convince some people to try it out.
this is what happens when you tripfag, faggot.

What a fucking great surprise this zone was, probably my favourite area in FFXIV.

absolutley 100% The Stanley Parable
play it buzzed, on whatever preferred substance

This game is fucking kino
NaissianceE gives me a huge Quake mapping boner. I was a little dissapointed toward the very end when it started emphasizing weird reality shenanigans over wowing you with architecture art, but I suppose it works for what it was doing. I really liked the game, gave me some damn good EYE flashbacks.
Brutalism is cool.
this place reminds me of mykonos
I felt like that in Mazy Hazy Cave, but this level definitely is the one that I like the most.
>tfw will never live in a clean brutalist home

Do people like mosquitoes that much?
There's wolves that kill you though.

>imagine being so autistic you have to reply to one of these threads instead of filtering that easily identifiable title.
God of War
Myst
Don't listen to this retard, only play Myst. The Witness is some sudoku piece of shit with literal youtube videos stapled into it
>op samefagging this post for getting called out
lol
Try G-String. It's sci-fi mod for Half-Life 2 of gigantic proportions, and most of gameplay is traversing dead city of the bad future (where everything is kinda like it is today, but more hazardous, despair-inducing and overbearing). There's fuckall people left alive in world, and for the most part you are entirely alone.
Antichamber is blinding white indie abstract puzzle garbage
Obduction is a piece of shit made by the worst version of Cyan after driving Myst into the ground
Super Mario 64
And it's always smaller than expected
FRACT OSC.

You fucked up your picture. It would have been so easy to turn them off.
The first time playing The Long Dark. I went too far from my base camp and just resigned myself to dying but kept walking through the woods as wolves howled in the distance. Ironically survived by finding a cabin, but it was damn isolating.

hell yeah my negro, big fucking shame the last update regarding the new version was nearly a year ago
Good.
Literally the definition of SOULLESS
myst scales like shit on modern computers, game is ridiculously dated
It's puzzles for their own sake, sure, but there's nothing wrong with that. It's a good mental workout.
the stanley parable
Doesn't sound so bad considering the latest download is from 8 years ago.
just hope it actually releases one day
I was going to post this.
holy shit kill yourself
The original game was remade twice to be more modern and look nicer, the way the games look only gets better from there up to Myst 4. Myst 5 is shit
inb4 "but i have to click"
Myst 4 is actually one of the best looking games ever made and you could probably play it on a toaster
shame the game is so fucking boring
I'm talking about the original myst? I don't give a fuck about the others.
Do you even know what scaling means? Calm the fuck down man.
cope :)
Yeah and Myst 1 looks fine today for a 20 year old game and runs well on the new versions. It's even being re-released so people don't have to deal with compatibility issues.
You don't even know about this game so fuck off
niggas meming this and dont even know the stanley parable is literally this meme
most ps1 games. many n64 games.
help me to teach zoomers how older hardware created a particular artstyle that needs to be known and used in newer games.
He's talking about playing the original ass game on a modern setup. It doesn't look anywhere as clean and pristine as it would on a good CRT of its day. You are a dumbass.
Thief FMs
I actually tried this a while back, I was surprised by the amount of skill you need to get across the levels.
However, I was expecting it to be creepier. Something akin to a Yume Nikki-like platformer.
Played the original about a year ago off of the steam version and it ran like absolute dogshit and looked like absolute dogshit. That's all I'm saying.
>Mazy Hazy Cave
heh
>this thread again

Nah, you and 5000 other redditors post this fucking background pretending it's something more than low res vomit.
i did that as well. then i played paper mario 1 and 2 and got to explore them myself
>So what if OP is autistic or not? This is a video game thread, and ONLY a video game thread.
So you are legit autistic, are you OP?
This shit is so fucking soulless and dull.
Why do you fags wank off over exposed concrete?
I swear to god every time I'm in a building like this I feel like I want to fucking kill myself.
The Submachine series

Damn that shit was 11 years ago?Time flies by fast.
That's just a screenshot of Perfect Dark running on an Xbone x

>get out of pool
>step on stairs

Speak for yourself, these kinds of maps are comfy to explore and fuck around in on your own
Do I need autism to find this picture unsettling or something? It looks comfy to me.
>what can possibly go wrong
just such a shame the map is so small
Stop posting these shitty maps. They look like something someone made in five minutes you aspie.
it's all one map retard

Any games with this feeling?
I just load this map up and I'm filled with ideas, I love it.
>bland empty concrete empty map
>good
dilate and get diagnosed
I did the same with Jet Force Gemini
Heres another good comfy map, gm_infinigrass, the skybox and ground feel infinite in all directions, endless space for possibility until you hit the map edges
I typically hate these too but these threads are actually consistently really good. The subject matter inherently invites thought.
spyro 1
there are basically no npcs and very minimal dialogue so its just you as this little dragonlet flying around empty hostile eerie worlds listening to the police
its my happy place
you will never have a mirrors edge like minimalist modern apartment with a rooftoop pool.
>>bland empty concrete empty map
Use you're imagination niqqa
Talos Principle

sonic adventure 2, phantasy star online, and phantasy star universe have a ton of interesting backgrounds and lonely feeling places
best map for nuke testing desu
You come across a dragon every fifteen feet, and all of them talk for like 30 seconds. There's fairies all over the place, there are balloonists, the enemies are total goofballs, you've got a little buddy flying next to you at all times. Spyro is a beautiful game, but I never get it when people try to say it was some surreal haunting experience. The only time I've ever come close to feeling something like that is after beating 2 and revisiting the hub worlds, devoid of any other characters, just yourself and the ambient music.
>played action half life mod
>one map had a hard to figure out and find Easter egg that would take you out of the Detroit style city block and, after swimming though an underground pipeline, you'd eventually pop out into the ocean, where a small island held a home and mailbox
>inside is fully modeled and had snacks and a TV with an anime episode paused on it
Comfy but also became depressing when I realized that organic secret discovery and sharing the huge secret you found with the friends you played with is a thing of the past
Then there's all the super detailed RP maps to immerse yourself in and explore on your own, soaking in the ambience, goddamn I love doing that
Did this ever actually come out?
2spooky in here
RP_stardestroyer is comfy too, nothing but the sound of your footsteps on the metal floor and grating, and the opening and shutting of doors, with the constant rumbling, humming of the main engine which gets unbearably loud at its source
godamn
Dear Esther is a walking sim, but it did do a good job on the lonely angle on the island as well, op
How many times are you going to post this thread?
Keep him cucked, just look at OP's samefags on this post.
>nobody mentionned Another World so far
I'm utterly disapointed in you Yea Forums
There's something about walking outside on the exterior of a ship as massive as a star destroyer that's really cool and oddly comfy
soul
soulless
fair enough, you arent literally alone sure but it feels lonely to me, the dragons being the only brief bits of dialogue throughout who are pretty interspersed on some levels and talk for maybe 5 seconds or give the "thanks for releasing me" meme.
maybe its also just me, i find emulating old singleplayer games lonely in itself, and it definitely feels lonely compared to the sequels.
Something about this creeps me out.
i like building rooms in the sky in minecraft, it gives me that feeling
Did they ever get past the first chapter? I remember fighting those spooky androids and then reading something on the mod page about spaceships.
>471229870
what map?
Now add Zombie stormtroopers
LIGHTHOUSE: THE DARK BEING
LIKE MYST WITH POINT AND CLICK
BEST GAME OF BOTH GENRES
also he's got some other comfy maps too
Something bothers me about this kind of house and I feel like those stairs are a prime example of aesthetics over livability. Like can you imagine having a child in the house with those steps? Forget a child, I feel like if I went down those steps while drowsy in the morning it wouldn't be long before I broke my neck.
the shader really is amazing, who would have thought that minecraft will be the game with the best graphics.
I had a Minecraft map that gave me that feel way back when. Was out just exploring, mostly your average green fields biome that kind of gradually rose to a mountain range, with a large interior cave. The cave didn't seem too deep and I could see at least one sunroof so I just went in unprepared, only to realize it was bigger than I thought and that there were lots of skellies ready to snipe me. Almost got killed but I just kept running, and then I turned a corner to this kind of oasis of light, an open valley with this perfect 6x4 water pool nuzzled away into this surprisingly rectangular crevasse. Made that a new home and protected it with glass windows.
i love surroinding stuff in glass windows
Especially when you kill all the enemies in a level, then it starts to feel pretty desolate
you guys ever play Bernband? its more of a weird walking sim than a game but its free and pretty cool. you play as an alien and explore this futuristic city.
nighttime visitor
This is so tame compared to TFC jump maps
i've played the highway maps, and they are comfy
thank you user
Deus Ex multiplayer. There are still a good ten servers around, but you rarely ever find any players. Most of the maps are very bizarre, with random tunnels and fixtures placed haphazardly around a barren environment.
Any empty Garry's Mod server
no rpobvblme
This game is great, can't wait for the followup
you okay there user?
you're not allowed to talk about it here because it makes the larping incels reee for some reason

i think that image is just a heavily modded minecraft.
>sit down

he's making another?
Yes I know but I'm just talking about the design in general.
skate heaven was such a cool level. I miss when thps games were consistently good.
dead malls give me existential dread and i have no clue as to why. same with abandoned airports.
Brutalism. The style is called brutalism.
Large, mazelike, yet open-structured buildings that are generally expected to be packed with people. When that's subverted, suddenly you have a setting where things can simultaneously hide nearby yet see you from a substantial distance without being obvious themselves.
Demon's Souls and Dark Souls 1 and 3
All that infrastructure that once served a purpose for so many people, now lies empty and forgotten. Never again to be used for its intended function, multiplied by the vast amount of people it was originally intended to serve
>these are the people /pol/ calling you an ugly third worlder nigger
Shout out to Kairo for weird architecture and spoopy atmosphere
fucking hell, ive never seen it described so on point.
thats the same thing that gets to me about airplane or ship graveyards. all these massive structures and machines that once served and housed so many people and seen so much action is just one day abandoned and left to decay.
No. Last update was a Facebook comment November last year where he said he was still working on it in his spare time.
Like all Kickstarter "scams", he bit more than he could chew.
Mothball feels
Feels like you're not supposed to be there, like everything's just closing down and you have to get out of there before you're trapped. When the lights start going out you need to hurry.
nice
Any games for this feel?
If you want to experience this atmosphere for yourself just get a trainer for GTAIV or V and turn off peds and cars completely, and then just roam the empty map and city
so fucking comfy, especially when I make it rain permanently, the atmosphere is something else really. This is like half the reason I bought GTAV so I could experience this, cause it was fun in GTAIV too, but the fact that the "city" in GTAV is so small in comparison is lame.
Doing it out in the rural setting isn't as impactful because you expect not to see people there, but in the city its a totally different atmosphere
>a setting where things can simultaneously hide nearby yet see you from a substantial distance without being obvious themselves.
This someone could be watching you from a corner at the end of some hallway at any time and you'd never know. It's like an IRL version of those "find the spooky thing" pictures, complete with the expectation that it could turn into a jumpscare at any moment.
? The mod released complete back in 2011 from what I remember.
The spaceship stuff is from the remake she's doing.
i was able to get into the closed section my airport and it genuinely felt like it was trapped in another time. like everywhere else moved on and that part was just forgotten by time.
Hell yeah somebody else has played G-String. I love the feeling of loneliness and isolation in this mod, combined with weird Japanese influences. Have played through it 3 times already. Eagerly waiting for the "full version".
it feel so unreal. like these giant machines arent meant to be abandoned like that, but here they are.
Also for Katrina feels just flood the city in addition to turning off the AI, oddly comfy
I have such a deep love hate nostalgia thing for Glover. Like I love this game in my mind but I know if I go to replay it I'm gonna fucking hate it.
Shaders water has always given me the same feel as OP's pic.
from the tomb raider thread
Sonic Adventure 2, if you slow down and just spend time looking at the skyboxes. The "highway type" and "Pumpkin type" levels are the best for this
I don't know about the ships, but those planes are used for spare parts. If that makes you feel any better...
The original Diablo gives me this vibe. Levels are pretty small. You just go down and down, through the church basement, to the catacombs, into a cave, and into hell.
The music is pretty bleak and muted. The atmosphere is great. As you get deeper the music stays the same but you get random hysterical laughter and moans of people being tortured. You have random impaled bodies and eventually topless hot succubi who shoot blood magic at you.
Shadow of the Colossus
When the darkness comes is good.
same. For games that allow modding in of new areas, I usually look for those that have that aesthetic.
>tfw no one you know has ever played urban terror
youtube.com
youtube.com
oh i know. ive seen how these boneyards work, some of them do fly out again. its just the feeling of seeing a giant machine that once was constantly used by people just suddenly up and abandoned in the desert is such a surreal thing.
The two hotel sections in dead island(opening and that one in main quest) always gave me that feeling. Shame it's such a minuscule part of the (kinda shitty) game
dark souls 1 unironically
especially ash lake
The Lodge in Harvester
Play middens
I love that aesthetic, especially when its warships, they're so much more massive than planes, with so much more volume
After WWII a huge fleet of escort carriers, destroyers, destroyer escorts, supply ships, auxiliary craft etc went right into mothballs
Ah, Urban terror, Cube and Crossfire/Warock
The golden era.
but that's not cool enough compared to the idea of whole junkyard worlds, where abandoned spacecraft are left to be picked apart by scavengers or slowly churned by the sands of time, exploring these would be an adventure, and compared to ships and planes they're absolutely massive
this gives me broken world vibes
>Water rises
>Ceiling is full of invisible glass
How scary would this shit be?
wow thats pretty but is it yknow
fun?
Talos Principle
Tekken 7's Infinite Azure 1 and 2 would be this if it weren't for the music
You Have To Win The Game
It's only 2 hours long and it's free on steam. Really like it, captures that feel just right
Surprised The Final Station hasn't been mentioned in this thread.
forgot pic
The Talos Principle
love this meme
Probably Dark Souls 1
nice
Something is wrong with you
Dead mall series is pure comfy.
i just wish hed expand outside of malls more often. seeing recently abandoned or deserted buildings is peak comfy
cringe
what's this appeal of this kind of games for you? I always feel unease and depressed after few hours of being completely alone in these artificial words. why would you seek this?
>I'm talking about the original myst? I don't give a fuck about the others.
That's a fucking nuclear take right there.
This game gave me nightmares.
>not posting the good version
This game is cool but it has too many enemies and NPCs to capture the feeling well
I tried this last time I was in this type of thread and uninstalled after 8 minutes. Got stuck in the dark where you chase some lights and gave up.
>stare into the sky
>suddenly imagine gravity being reversed and pulling me up into the empty void
Is it just me?
>not exploring and enjoying the comfy desolation of these artificial worlds
why do you even play vidya then if that's too much for you?
>standard day on tfc
>suddenly server hosts a mysterious map
>full of mysteries, with a weird, abstract black and white paint-style stylistics
>somehow i cannot host it myself to make it work
>never saw it again
i think it was called half-quake or something, but it was pretty spooky
my man
I really like this one. I feel like it would be even more comfy if you were in a big armored SUV type vehicle.
Games with this feel?
TRIHAYWBFRFYH
No I got that too, when I was dealing with panic attacks and agoraphobia, caused by panic disorder.
Otherwise I can sort of imagine that same sensation but with less intensity and anxiety, its an odd one, kinda vertigo like. When I don't have anxiety I can almost enjoy the sensation even
For a similar reason as to why I find street lamps and abandoned buildings beautiful.
They are a mark left on the planet by those who came before me. Sometimes to lead the way one must go, sometimes to nurture the lives of those who stayed, etc. The men have moved on, but have left their tools, their shell, and the only thing left is a vague feeling of presence, only the feeling that a fellow, a companion in life, has been here.
There's really no need since there's no people or cars in the world that would necessitate it, plus I wanted to go fast without crashing into stupid AI
I went even faster on this Akira bike
Holy shit that is awesome. I need to redownload gta 5
it's not an autist
it's a bot hiro uses to recycle thread topics that get lots of replies
>laying down
>suddenly feel like you're falling backwards
>like you're sliding head first down a tip tray
>feel like you're shrinking but you're actually getting larger
>rubbing your eyes and seeing checkered patterns only to burst into bright colors that fade after a few seconds
that's the stroke life
Holy shit, I thought I was the only one.
I did this in GTAV director mode. Turned off all NPCs, turned on rain and night mode, and then listened to the VTMB OST for maximum LA by Night vibes. It's really something.
INFRA
the rush 2 stunt track... home...
The Stanley Parable
FEAR Extraction Point
you can make it permanently rain in gta5?
Yeah, in director mode at least. I'm sure you can force it in SP with a mod/trainer too, but I haven't tried that myself.
Dying Light
I stopped playing actually cause the new updates to the game broke the peds/cars density option in every trainer out there, now you can't fully turn off the peds/cars in the world even if they are set to disabled, even when directly editing them out of the timecycle, sucks.
I only bought GTAV to have my own sandbox to play in, and now Rockstars shitty online only updates somehow broke this one fun and useful feature of trainers, so fuck it.
mynigga.jpeg
I liked to listen to the ingame radios or just no radio and enjoy the comfy ambience of the rain, when its not that then just fucking around with helicopters, without any traffic/peds to worry about, fun times.
Did you try director mode recently? Does it remove all peds and cars on the road or did Rockstar break that functionality too? I actually haven't tried that yet as a fix for my issue.
whats going on here
I did this a year ago or something, haven't tried it recently. But I doubt they would remove such basic functionality for it. (Unless they really screwed up.)
I'm sure trainers are/were more flexible, but you could also remove all peds and cars in director mode when I played.
Is that ArmA 3?
They've recreated it in different game engines.
is this real?
Maybe I'll reinstall and try it in director mode then, I was really bummed out to have it stop working and uninstalled everything, if its still broken even in director mode and I can't have the map with 0 peds and cars again then I'll quit it for good like before. Ruins muh immershun
Yes, no_________
>tfw my brother and I always tried to get over there because we were too dumb to realize it was just a flat texture
>tfw we always tried to get inside peach's castle in mario kart
we were not smart kids
I miss playing n64 games with my brother
Games for this feeling?
what is image search retard.
>Dark Souls 1 and 3
>and 3
Don't lie.
SMT Nocturne
I legit cant finish it because its so goddamn quiet. What the fuck is wrong with some voiceover, huh? No wonder Persona is now the main series.
tomb raider 1
i think blame is a cool guy, eh kills silicorns and doesn't afraid of anything.
It's only a Spanish village, mate.
You're basically walking on giant ruins in that game, and even if they lack interconnection, the areas are properly scaled.
store.steampowered.com
Very otherworldly
Kinda lonley
aesthetic
The part right before the Cathedral of the Deep reminds me of that image desu
You can essentially recreate this in no man's sky
What game is this?
2Bs ass is by far the most beautiful thing in that picture. But I agree, the desert was quite interesting.
thats from the old one
Alright, what is this "feel" called then? I need a word.
can i get a quick rundown on this?
Soulverload.
Mystery. Though not the kind of mystery you'd expect.
pornography
Reminds me of the pool map from Assaultcube. No picture included because the internet doesn't have it.
the pool has so much AIDs that the radioactive water in Fukushima doesn't even compare to it.
There's just something about this extremely large structures that fascinate me. Like in Halo games.
its even better when wet
So damn odd that Deus Ex had MP.
>11th game in zork series
I mean I know zork is an old game but what the fuck
Same here. I would always try to go over the boundaries in 64 games thinking there was something over the walls. Now games are open world and nothing in them. Makes me sad.
Lonely and Otherworldly
That one scaled like garbage too. Same shit.
why has there never been a game where you can explore an airplane boneyard? that sounds like such a cool place to explore and put things in but no one does it.
Same, its the orgasmic sense of scale, it's the same awe inspiring feeling of staring at a mountain, yet this mountain is artificial and man-made (or alien made) so it inspires even greater awe
>paste a bunch of artifacted jpeg photos and draw a shitty anime girl looking at it
can an artist get any lazier?
Act 4 is out, but the final act is not
Source of photo?
Terraria
Dark Cloud
Vagrant Story
I frequently have lonely otherwordly dreams and I think the most "lonely otherwordly" feature possible is finding otherwordly fauna, like a pack of birds at a beach, but they all completely ignore you or run away if you approach. It's a strong gut punch. Sometimes I wake up almost in tears from how brutally lonely it makes me feel.
anyone have good minecraft maps to share that kind of have these feels? i suck at building myself
I exclusively dream of dicks. Long, hard, veiny dicks of all shapes and colors.
Is this real life?
That's why its called Brutalism user.
Does Amnesia Dark Descent count?
I dream of my teeth falling off.
its about the idea not its execution
ngmi crab
post your work
I feel way different, i feel at peace. But there are so few of this type of games. Naissance was a beautiful experience.
What you call "lonely" I call comfy desu
>tfw dreaming of clamping my jaw so hard that my teeth shatter
>tfw dreaming of opening my jaw so wide that it dislocates
why are humans like this
I always wondered what was above the walls in animal crossing wild world
fuck yes
thought it said "final solution" which would have been funny given the train
>bac9
never ever ;-;
Still waiting on Airbus to build the Dreamliner, where the entirety of the ceiling is a large seamless LED screen, which will in camera feeds from outside the plane and project the signal onto said screen to simulate an open canopy over the clouds.
Though they'd have to likely sacrifice a full row of seats, so that the overhead compartments can be moved to the floor to accommodate for the display. That and Airbus planes are FAR LESS LIKELY to fall out of the sky unlike the new Boeing jets.
>400 posts in and nobody has posted the literal embodiment of this concept
I remember playing some 3D burglar game back in the day in which you could enter any random house. It blew me away.
Oh fuck, now I remember Carrington Villa
Look at these while listening to this:
youtube.com
it's less impactful when it's forced otherwordly like Worlds, at that point it's just borderline LARPing cringe
My job
40-50 hours a week, maybe 5% of that is spent with other employees
my dick
Found the source. This is the blog. Its a CG architect
khooll.com
I want an open world Battlefield I-esque 256v256 player MP game set inside of a Rama-esque O'Neill Cylinder.
64v64 in the country side, 64v64 in the city, 64v64 on the water and 64v64 in the air. All as a single battle, so that at any point anyone in any group can use any vehicle available to fly across the map and assist other players and groups in their conquest. All backed by cloud hardware to handle the distributed load across a shared shard infrastructure.
BROS, WHY ARE BODIES OF WATERS SO ATTRACTIVE AND CALMING AND WONDERFUL.
FUCK I LOVE BLUE
fucking this
always got that sort of feel when playing surf, just weird surreal white sculptures miles up in the sky
Yes, you actually have to use your brain and not suck at platforming. It's not too hard so far but it's pleasantly difficult.
youtube.com
I know the feeling
I remember there was a period of time where I kept having dreams about malls that were abandoned and dark that went on forever.
Memes aside, the Hanazono Room is cozy AF.
Lego Island gives me this feel
Wrong source. Thats just a fanboy. Here is real source
oh look, i made this in 10 minutes by pasting 2 images together and it looks better because the background is not composed of photobashed JPEGs and instead created by a real artist
kys
That would be awesome, imagine a Battlefield game where you flank the opossing team by going up and over them, kek, maybe even dropping onto them if some gravity manipulation is used
the photobashed looks better unironically, better visualization, feels more real
Kings Field is pretty great for the lonely, otherworldly feel.
>Battlefield: RAMA
Fuck, I can imagine this being a thing if Battlefield 4 had some fucking PUBLIC MOD AND MAP TOOLS
FUCK YOU DICE
keep shilling your shitty art
fucking rekt em holy shit dude
custom source engine maps in general had that feel
>Battlefield: RAMA
it's not my art, it just gives me these feels
Xenosaga
What was this called again? Backrooms or something like that? Either way, I saw a game about rooms like this, and it was pretty shit. Invisible boogeyman and whatnot. Making those into a horror game doesn't seem like a good recipe.
???????
Yume Nikki
>youtube.com
I listen to this when building in Minecraft
This shit again? Is this the new yellow backdoor room?
I get the spyro feel, a lot of it came from looking out at the skybox, miles and miles of green grass and wondering what was out there
I remember getting a similar feeling from Croc
youtube.com
>tfw no genre defining sci-fi shooter set on a ring world
t.no imagination
One day, I will visit this pool.
Is that a TF2 skybox? it seems kinda familliar
I feel compelled to start learning how to UE4 so that I can ATTEMPT to make an O'Neill Cylinder and then ATTEMPT to make it MP.
Fug I thought this image would have a translated memeword.
Infinifactory
I remember getting this feel at times with Episode 1 Pod Racer game on some maps, anyone else?
especially cause I was so shit at racing I would always be last place playing catch up with the AI chads
Wouldn't the moon, like, run into something that big?
this kind of shit is already overused in games but dammit I want more
yeah sometimes. shit got real when you cheated and went full speed on one of those moon missions. Like I broke through the planet
Is that a capsule hotel?
This reminds me
I wish we'd get another Extreme G. 3 was my shit
I was just playing ninja gaiden 2. Chapter 6 and 7 have this fancy, regal vibe to them. Nice architecture and big buildings
It's a plane that goes on forever with no seats
Sehnsucht
No but could you imagine
>enter tiny capsule hotel
>shut door
>at the end of it there's a curtain
>pull it open
>see this
>wat do
How deep do you go? Into the javascript:;
I don't care how much people shit on this game. I love how eerie and lonely the twilight realm is in Zelda TP. The music, the off-yellow coloring, and anyone that isn't trying to kill you is just a lonely lost spirit. It's as scary as it is comforting
Imagine sitting at the poolside during a light rain storm, with the sound of raindrops tapping against the many windows. That shit would be so absurdly relaxing.
boy do I have the job offer for you
playing lego island and holy shit the game has this feel
Then why does it have new creature designs?
anyone got that animal crossing comic where someone piles a bunch of furniture up one of the side cliffs and gets out only to find it's just an endless expanse of grass?
and that one multiplayer map
I really enjoy exploration maps in Gmod, some of them have really cool hidden shit, and also maps like Elevator: Source give you a good feeling of surrealism
>exploration maps in Gmod
Can you recommend some?
Even just the emptiness of gm_bigcity would give me that kind of feeling, with the occaisional alarms and dogs barking in the background
And the secret area with the gnome
My aim is to be rich enough to own a house built like this
lego island is peak vaporwave aesthetic without being vaporwave
>that silhouette
>the word Bro clearly on his shirt, separated from Ken
MUST
RESIST
ASKING HOW THIS IS RELATED TO HOMESTUCK
gm_abandoned_metro
gm_bigcity_night
Headlong
FM_Bastion
There's also a good number of RP maps that contain secrets and other neat things hidden along if you look around for them, I just like walking around and looking at things in an empty server, gives you a really weird but comfortable feeling
my eternal brother
I can never get over how surreal that game is
I think maps like gm_gmall and the default ones have this weird, surreal feeling to them as well. Seeing shit like this all right next to each other, giving it a sort of out of time feeling.
Really wish I could find other maps like it.
GW2
I'm trying to see if I can find a map pack that contains nothing but maps like this but it's kind of hard
Thief
I assume it's privately owned. Also isn't the Japanese porn industry run almost entirely by yakuza? Will I have to make friends with the mob to reach my mecca?
I get this feeling from the Forest Temple in OoT
Any singular examples would be good too, closest I've found is shit like gm_adventurers or kz_otakuroom.
it really is
literally garry's mod maps
It isn't even the most vaporwave lego shit.
Yeah it's a pretty specific kind of map, like I said, many RP maps can contain what we're looking for but for maps specifically designed for what we're looking for you gotta dig, I'd say check out de_absurdity or Hypnophobia
Refunct is a small parkour game on steam and it costs under 5 shekels last I checked
>encouraging the brutalism cancer
What feeling is this supposed to give me? I don't get it.
getting into garrys mod for the first time, gonna try these maps
Have a good time, try out some apocalypse maps when you get a chance they have some cool stuff in them too
Can't wait for the next one.
See you next time, lonely feels OP
thank you for this
All these places just makes me invision being alone, tripping and falling and hitting the corner of my head on one of the many sharp corners and just bleeding out and dying on cold hard cement with no one around to help.
gm_adventurers isn't quite the same feel, but exploring a long gone amusement park area has a sort of weird feeling to it. With everyone except you having left years ago.
The dated lighting really lends to this sort of feeling.
I refuse to believe OP didn't samefag the fuck out of responses to this.
>Do people like mosquitoes that much?
Your country's wildlife isn't every country's wildlife, user.
sorry kid but the grownups are talking video games here
>borderline empty except for pre-rendered cutscenes
>surrealism
>is itself a consumerist art piece made to promote a product
>is also an artifact of the times due to obsolescence
>not to mention the soundtrack
I haven't played this map before, I'll give it a look thank you, in return I'll give you this map
Try out the map "Norad"
Thank me later
>Getting this upset over nothing
Enjoy your autism, manchild.
Here ya go OP
I don't really care, this is actually a really good thread
woah
Shame the fucking thing doesn't run on modern computers at all
Yeah, I figured you'd like that. It's the OP picture, but from the other side.
Rain World
Nobody's mentioning it 'cause it's 2-D, but holy fuck it gave me feelings which I couldn't shake. Just looking at brutalist architecture for months afterwards made me think of this game.
I strongly recommend it, it's a great map.
