Mizzurna Falls is pretty similar. If you liked Deadly Premonition you might like that
Shenmue 1 really gives off a twin peaks season 1 vibe
persona 4
trover saves the universe
If Deadly Premonition counts, then that.
Otherwise: Silent Hill
no it fucking doesn't
In terms of being a series that follows the 3>1>2 template? Nothing.
> 3>1
Yikes.
The Silver Case/Killer7/Flower, Sun and Rain
Deadly Premonition, killer7.
Fpbp
Twin peaks is more like a 3 > 2 > 1 when you filter the bad episodes from the season 2 (and even them are good in their own way )desu.
The Return is fucking transcendent
Maybe I just need to watch it again, I only saw it once. Maybe I'll pick up on more next time and appreciate it more
The second season of Twin Peaks up till that episode is majestic and far better than anything in the first one.
Got part way through season 2 years ago and just sort of stopped watching this.
The entire catching Leland plot was pure kino, and I even still enjoyed Coop being investigated because I loved the town and the characters, but man after watching Mulholland Drive and thinking it's just pure pretentious shit the last thing I'd ever want to do is commit to the return.
Lynch is just like Kojima or George Lucas, so much better when reigned in.
>what is dmc
The Return was truly special.
It sure was.
Best thing that have aired on television in a very long time.
...appreciate.. it..
I've been doing some thinking
Deadly Premonition
You need to play this game if you haven't
It's unironically the best story ever told in vidya. It has a bunch of goofy meme worthy shit thanks to its budget and cheap presentation but seriously, the story is actual bliss once you see it through.
wish there were an open world game with vast PNW or New England woods and creepy shit without being forced or in your face
"I SAW... DIRTY MEN, SITTING IN A ROOM"
Yea Forums unequivocally blown the fuck out
It definitely isn't. Season 2 reaches the highest highs in the series, with episodes like Lonely Souls and the finale, but even the first good half of season 2 is rough and nowhere near as consistent and well written as season 1 was.
Those first 9 episodes are fucking rough, man. They're good and I love watching it, but the episodes not directed by Lynch meander and turn likable characters into annoying ones. I like that it's a lot darker than season 1 was, already apparent in the very first scene of season 2, but the thing is that the other writers and directors couldn't even almost keep up with Lynch, so when he left the show became a confused mess, and even the slapstick humor is weird and off compared to season 1 and when Lynch it at helm.
1 > 3 > 2
2 has the best episodes in the entire series, the best scenes in the entire series, but overall the weakest.
I gave up in season 2. Did that Audrey ever end up fucking her dad at that secret slut house?
No. But she does get blown up by a bomb later on and then trapped in a house with an annoying dream midget in season 3
this is bait or you're a fucking zoomer pleb
No, but you find out he fucked Laura
Also, no matter what I do, I can't get into S3.
brainlet spotted
Still to this day I'm not sure if The Return was a thing I actually saw or was memed into imagining
I still prefer season 1 overall but I think season 2 has some of TP's all-time best moments
S3 has a handful of decent scenes but it's overall really not good and just Lynch masturbating
Yeah, I appreciate the aesthetic, but it's pretty tiring after a while. Much less comfy than S1+2 since it's not really in Twin Peaks.
>Lynch is just like Kojima or George Lucas, so much better when reigned in.
What you just said was literally the opposite of being true though. Season 2 got shit because Lynch left to work on Wild at Heart, and he had the come back for the last episode to fix what Frost did to fuck up his baby. The finale of season 2 remains the best thing to ever air on television and it's solely because of Lynch.
Las Vegas and Dougie rival the comfiness of the original show.
Fight me.
Why was it so good bros?
Wild At Heart was already finished shooting by the time season 1 of Twin Peaks had aired. You're entirely wrong.
Lynch AND Frost both distanced themselves from the show after NBC forced them to reveal the killer.
>ctrl+f "Silent Hill"

Fucks sake Yea Forums. It's the most well known horror game out there and full of Twin Peaks and David Lynch references.
Lynch didn't work on Season 2 from the reveal until the finale. I had heard Lynch was working on Wild at Heart, but the fact he left wasn't up for debate.
I hated S3 because the aesthetic had no novelty for me. Forgive the food analogy but it was like a peanut butter jelly sandwich (The peanut butter is humor and the jelly is kino) with no bread. Only someone who makes food analogies would just eat that shit out of a jar without the pretense of it being a sandwich.
Because of the 16 hours of Dougie Jones building up to that scene.
>after watching Mulholland Drive and thinking it's just pure pretentious shit
I feel bad for you brother, Mulholland Drive is Lynch kino and I hope you can come to appreciate it some day
>yfw
He left, yes. But so did Frost. You can't just discredit Frost like that, a lot of Twin Peaks is Lynch, but Frost is responsible for a lot it, I'd say half of it, but we all know what another director would not have birthed the show we have today, but he is massively responsible for the show being as great as it was.
If you have any doubt in his ability as a writer, he wrote the Major Briggs diner scene, and Lynch shot it without so much as changing a fucking thing from the script. You have Frost to thank for a lot of the lovable characters, for the focused plotting and narrative, for the lore. It's just ignorant to shit on him like that.
Yep. The theme music kicking in took it over the edge. It's a shame that Cooper didn't get a storybook ending, but the ending he did get was kino.
>That hand
Get this bitch on crystal treatment right now.
GoW
What games let me help countless people and then ruin literally everything because I'm a dumb fuckup who tripped on his dick at the very end?
I move car.
People are under a lot of stress.

Hello Johnny, how are you today?
I love how that scene escalated so ridiculously fast
I had to re-watch it because I couldn't take it all in

>Finally get around to watching Season 3 after putting it off and off
>60-70% of it is filler with no relevance to the main story
I got LYNCHED again
I feel like the Dianne tulpa's death was way freakier than this
It's Flower Sun and Rain.
I remember when it was airing and five episodes in or so I was posting about how certain I was that Dougie would go back to being normal Cooper in an episode or two. I'm glad I was wrong though.
Apart from Deadly Premonition there is Alan Wake, but that is closer to Twilight Zone
>yfw episode 8 of season 3
What is The Straight Story of vidya?
Lost Highway > Mulholland Drive
Far Cry 5
>"Got a light?"
agua por favor
Any games that take inspiration from Inland Empire?
I don't like the special effects in The Return. Looking at in a vacuum like this it's fine, because while it may not be what is traditionally considered good special effects, it looks weird, and that weirdness contributes to the tone and the otherworldliness of the stuff in the Black Lodge, which is how it was in Mulholland Dr. too and it worked there, but then you have scenes like when that kid gets run over, and even though it's not supernatural at all it still looks weird, and when the car outside Dougie's blows up and the camera cuts away instead of showing the explosion, and it all makes the effects feel cheap instead of being deliberately odd when they still look that way when it's not appropriate and when they seem to be avoiding using special effects when they can.
There's also stuff like the eight episode of The Return looking great all around even in the special effects, and while that's good on its own, it just makes stuff like that webm and other effects like it look even worse.
Gothic II
Deadly Premonition
Alan Wake
>murder mystery where the circumstances of the actual murder are the least interesting part
>Twist is dumb as fuck
>second half is hugely polarizing
>getting a continuation years after everyone forgot about it
nope, can't think of anything OP
The absolute state of western media. Thank god I watch anime it's much more believable than this garbage.
that was when I stopped watching because that whole episode just solidified the show completely stopped being twin peaks and just became a david lynch movie
It's not Twin Peaks Season 3, it's FWWM 2-19
lo-fi kino.
This was a good show until it shit the bed with all the stupid paranormal shit
I liked the whole BOB/Black Lodge stuff until Cooper decided to forfeit his lawman act for some convent pussy for some reason
this is how to out yourself as a pleb
>decent murder mystery transforms into a 2deep6u piece of garbage
>wow u jus dun get it pleb XD
>2deep6u
Nothing Lynch makes is deep. He doesn't make weird shit to be deep, he makes weird shit because he dreams it up and finds any excuse to put it into whatever he's working on.
>S3 final episode
I'm still mad bros.
hey, spoiler alert, the murder mystery is the least important thing in twin peaks
Same here. Still mad that we won't get anything as good as The Return ever again.
Crypt Worlds
>Lynch will die in your lifetime
The Return literally left the series in a worse state than before. They had a chance to take it somewhere and threw it away during the final episodes. I guess it's true you should be careful what you wish for. Don't even want S4 for a possible repair because it will most likely regress and damage the series further. FUCK LYNCH
shame it's the only intersting thing in it
You say that like he hasn't been practicing dark magic to obtain eternal life.
Put this shit on current gen consoles.
With a slew of brand new glitches and colour grading to boot!
it felt really generic desu
