A great story. Fun dialogue. Cool choices. Neat environments. You can pretty much kill anyone. Multiple ways to complete missions. Choices that really can change the story down the line. Graphics are clunky, controls can be clunky, ai is clunky, but it is an old game. Just play it.

A fantastic game that rewards exploration and lets you think outside the box to complete objectives. You literally don't have to fire a shot if you look around enough and get to grips with the (admittedly dated) stealth mechanics.
The rest of the series varies in quality, but this is the best one, so pretend the others never happened.

In the very first mission, before you rescue your agent friend, drop all your weapons except for your knife. Otherwise he's gonna take one of your good weapons. If he just takes your knife, it's easy enough to replace it.

You can choose to give him nothing

Ugly graphics and clunky controls.
Don't know how people can play this outdated crap when better games exist now.

All of this except killing everyone doesn't really matter because most are generic mooks or civilians. Being able to kill the important people is what makes this point worthwhile.

You would leave your fellow agent defenseless and humiliated in the face of his captors, unable to fight back and get revenge, capable only of retreating?

It's Gunther. Fuck him.

Oh yeah yeah oh yeah yeah oh yeah yeah

Hating Liberty Island, then loving the rest of the game. Get the GEP.

The most overrated game of all time.

Don't invest anything in melee combat. when you get that laser sword you will insta kill everyone and won't even use guns.

a documentary on modern governments and the archetype of what is currently going on in the world

You can expect to play through the game once and then reinstalling it and playing the first level again every time you see it discussed for the next couple decades.

you can expect a great game

bait

GEP Gun and LAMs are the universal lockpicks

I fucking loved Morrwind, I'm stoked.

The most varsatile rocket launcher in FPS history. Seriously, the amount of times the GEP gun can be used to improvise, being a locked door, a secret passageway, an electric panel thats too far away, a way to deal with multiple enemies or just to dck around its incredible.

Hey Jared

In all my playthroughs I have never once used the GEP gun other than to test or to fuck around.
Stealth and convo all the way. It's the best way to discover hidden stuff imo.

I use it to take out bots, but never against humanoids

A minor nitpick at best since they can easily be remapped.

In my first run during the Mtro fight, where they were a fuckton of troops in those barricades i panicked and shoot a rocket at them, and it killed them all in one hit.

Later i just used it to beat Men or Women in Black or robots.

What is this meme with clunky controls? The game plays just fine, just like every other FPS game from that era. If anything, games today are fucking clunky with forced cutscenes to show how your character does something like opening doors.

We have another problem

clunky = not cinematic looking with magnetic attack animations and smooth transitions into cutscenes

this also characters in this game have animations for some interactions within the level (opening doors or turning light off/on) but these animations can only be seen from third person view (or in mirror) which doesn't distract the player

An overrated game

It´s honestly better than Morrowind
