What are some "Autism Project" games you play, and why?
Looking for something to potentially sink dozens of hours into for the hell of it. Any genre is fine.
What are some "Autism Project" games you play, and why?
dorf fort

Mmm, tried it but it isnt my cup of tea
Factorio is OpenTTD for normalfags, not an autism game at all.
I hope you brought OpenTTD as a way to stealth spoon, because if it was that's genius.
Factorio goes way beyond OpenTTD since you're the one manufacturing all the shit you transport and defending it.
I'll grant you that OpenTTD is indeed uglier.
just automated production of the yellow science packs for the first time
kinda sucks that the most useful tools aren't unlocked until the mid-late game
also the speedruns are fucking insane
I always want to try an autism game, then I play it for a few hours and realize i lack the attention span
I love to play puzzle games, try to figure out solution for bit and never play it for like a month
I have been playing space chem for like five years now
>official promotional picture
>belts only loaded on one side
>also the speedruns are fucking insane
I don't know how they do it. I got the
Factorio is actually a very good one to try out, due to the way the progression functions. Factorio is well known to be insanely addictive, which is due to the fact that the challenge is actually distributed and dispersed among long list of minor elements. At least until you reach the very "high-level" approach where you plan entire major projects long time ahead, the game mostly uses small problems and small issues that it constantly presents to you - it's the ultimate "just one more thing" type of game.
All of the shit that requires long planning and deliberation comes very late in to playing it, and more to the point, it comes very gradually. The game eases you into its complexity. It's really a master class on "easy to grasp, hard to master" approach to game design.
space chem will drive you nuts.
There's so much wrong in it that I don't even know why you would even bother to single out anything in it.
Minecraft can get pretty autismo, especially with mods and redstone. I'm more of a hunter-gatherer.
mmmm, not sure
Zachtronics games are pretty autistic. Would've liked to play the commie semiconductor game without Flash.
Kenshi.
It impressed the hell out of me.
>I'll grant you that OpenTTD is indeed uglier.
Im sorry, what?
Minecraft with mods
i spent so long on tekkit making solar panels from nothing because we needed a lot
It's a grind for sure. I found 1 bucket unstable redstone and used it to make a really upgraded signalum backpack very early. Walked over some gravel in the nether and lost it in lava..
I used to think I was an autistic fuck, but the more I tried to play the "Autistic Project" games (nice term, by the way), the more I realized maybe I was far more casual than I thought.
>Dorf Fort
>Kerbel Space Program
>Factario
>even some more complicated city sims
all too much for me.
Factorio isn't autism, really. Unless you for the Lazy Bastard challenge or try to optimize everything yourself without getting help online.
NetHack without any spoilers, including looking at source code, would be autism maximum levels.
Lazy bastard was easy, one you get bots it's not even a challenge..
Now lazy bastard and no bots is a better one, throw in a marathon modifier on costs too and if you are feeling spicy add a mod that buffs biters.
Factorio would be autistic fun if there was no player character.
Better graphics = normalfag
Worse graphics = autism
