Nomura is a known liar. Or it was just mistranslated, the Shibuya in KH is "not the same" as the one in TWEWY the same way all the FF characters aren't the same ones from their respective games.

I don't know man, it's a weird situation. There are a shit ton of connections both obvious and subtle, but at the same time something just feels off about the whole thing. I wouldn't put it past Mad man Nomura to honestly want to use Shibuya as a setting in KH without tying in TWEWY. I'll see if I can find the interview and go over it again to check.

The main point I get stuck on with this is that the Verum Rex commercial in Toy Box takes place in "a" Shibuya too if you look closely, and apparently Yozora is an actual guy so that means there are clearly at least two separate Shibuya connected to KH. Why he would choose to do things like this is beyond me.

FFXV is not going anywhere anyway, and it has most elements Nomura had planned from the start (eg the roadtrip aspect, etc.)

I don't think Verum Rex will be that close to Versus (aside from some elements like "eyes that see expiring souls" maybe), simply because Nomura himself no longer feels any attachment towards it, especially with the rather castrated version of it being realized by someone else entirely
