Which of these games is better, Yea Forums?

Dofus. Sadly Yea Forums doesn't play either game. I know I don't play it because there is almost no English community in either game and the ones that do speak English are already maxed out.

why is it only popular in frogland? I never understood it

Because Dofus is a french game, ankama is a french studio
I played both, I don't like how you're forced to limit your skills in battle in Wakfu. I've always liked Dofus more because nostalgia, been playing it since middle school... It was my WoW.

Yea Forums played wakfu in the beta back in 2011, I miss it

it released as p2p and as a mess, so nobody played it

then went f2p in 2014 and got much more popular, but started dying out in the end, the heroes system was just the final nail in the coffin

how could Ankama even make it better than Dofus?

Only thing I liked more in Wakfu than Dofus is crafting and gathering.

I think they're both pretty bad as far as gathering/crafting goes in MMOs, it's pretty pointless and just adds padding

bump

Dofus was a fantastic MMO. Never played Wakfu tho.

Something about the adventures felt so funny and... adventurous?

>was

it's as popular as ever due to monoaccount server

they butchered Wakfu with updates and class reworks
I really really miss Aydiv, we had a good thing going on

>butchered

how

The merger killed everything.

What merger?

a lot of class changes made them more... simple? Like Ecaflip had shit like 50/50 you win you lose HARD, now it's more tempered and less risky, they removed a lot of big RNG

Foggernaut had something where you could summon 3 things per turn that absorbed damage next to allies - so you could block 3 spaces on the battlefield, was pretty sick. Now you only have one block which you heal but attracts damage.

Fecas had an ability which basically shat out meteors over an area and a fixed amount of meteors
you could position the enemy into one spot or something, I'm not sure how the cheese trick worked but it basically dropped ALL meteors on that enemy
only worked for super big mobs, they basically made Fecas unfun

Of the 2 /vg/ guilds, both had a decent community but due to both of them lacking people we merged and it was great at first until everyone started dropping the game and issues with inner circle bullshit.

I'm Yea Forums and I play dofus with a small group of other Yea Forums.

One is alive, the other is dead despite being more recent. I wonder why?

Eh, Ecaflip is as good of a Gambler as ever, there are interesting spells/passives that rely on RNG such as hot potate, double or quits, tarot, etc

I remember people from Yea Forums playing and basically said "until you reach a high level, you're on your own" which was a big turn off.

>completely forgot about WAKFU
>played with Yea Forums guild on Nox
>forgot I gave away my account to another Yea Forums bro
>I have a bunch of new items and shit on my character
>I'm the new guildleader of the Yea Forums guild, nobody else is on
>pretty sure my bro quit the game years ago, too
The feels...

When I quit I gave everything I had to Aydiv and everyone there is gone.

Reaching high level in dofus takes mere days if it's your goal and you're on a server that wasn't just released yesterday. Everything is really easy to do until higher levels so it's not like you'll need any help for your quests, and when you do all you need is ask.
We have a low level member right now and he's doing just fine discovering the game and getting his first dofuses.

was it on Phaeris?

Yes.

Because outside of the combat there is virtually nothing else going on for it. Classes/fighting is neat but quests/professions/dungeons/gear are all pretty tedious or uninteresting so it only really attracts autists, like the French. Who play it simply because it's from France.

Your bait is too obvious. Try again later.

Dofus has way more going for it and it's still mostly only played there

What the fuck, France?

Dofus is mostly played by the french and secondly by spics because those are the only two populations it was marketed to 10 years ago. That's literally it. Other people need to be told about it to find out it exists, all the french 20-something know it exists and it was the runescape equivalent there.
There's several english-speaking alliances on ilyzaelle (the only server worth playing). They're just less numerous than french ones.

I really wish thee are porn that isn't just the animated Wakfu cast. There are so many attractive characters.

Started playing Dofus again literally yersteday. Got a lvl 26 Feca. Farming the big sheeps for gear. How do I not suck at things.

Such as? All I remember from dofus from level 1-80 was grinding the same exact fucking zones relentlessly, until I had a high enough level to wear specific sets of gear that gave AP, then I would maybe run a dungeon or get a dofus, then I would repeat the process grinding the same exact zone until I got the next AP relevant gearset.

Professions were bleak are extremely tedious as realistically all items were already being made by level 100 masters so it's not really like you could eke out a decent living on anything except for food/potions. Making your own gear was basically out of the picture as well since it required absurd resources that either were more expensive than the end piece or just straight up too difficult to run around and get on your own. Not to mention the random nature of crafting meant you sure as fuck would need to make more than 10 of everything in the hopes you'd actually get good stat rolls.

Play on ilyzaelle. Do the silver dofus quests so you never have to suffer through them again. Then do the cawotte and dokoko dofus quests. Join a guild. After level 80-100 gear gets exponentially better at giving AP/MP and you'll be able to do a lot more actions in a single turn.

Questing and achievement hunting are all things you can do to level that aren't grindy

Join the old /vg/ guild on Ilyzaelle

The problem is your brain. You can literally never grind any area in the game if you so wish. I'm pretty sure just doing the dofus quests along with some achievements can get you to 200. Since the profession rework you can also be profitable leveling any profession if you're just patient about it.

>Not to mention the random nature of crafting meant you sure as fuck would need to make more than 10 of everything in the hopes you'd actually get good stat rolls.
Or just mage the first one you craft to have a decent roll, like everyone else does.

who the fuck gives a shit about these ancient games? post ankama qts

wakfu has a skeleton crew working on it, won't be long before it shuts down, dofus got most of the staff back from when they split to work on wakfu.
They just fucked wakfu up so bad.

Based

>wakfu has a skeleton crew working on it, won't be long before it shuts down

source?

There's no source on this. It's clear that ankama is just milking the last whales and as soon as the game is no longer profitable they'll shut it down tho.

You know that user doesn't have a source.

Wakfu had a rough development cycle, it was rushed to release due to a contract with Square Enix, released as a mess where just about everything was bad.

Through the years the gameplay got much better, but it lost a lot of the soul and became rather formulaic.

The heroes shit backfired and just made the game solo-heavy pandering to whales.

I think they still can fix it with a monoaccount server and someone who has a clue on how to make a good MMO.

If the game dies, at least I hope they remake Dofus in a better engine or something.

Remaking dofus in a better engine is already planned.

>They just fucked wakfu up so bad.
I don't understand why

>planned

kek

Yes. Ankama is too retarded to do things in time so they haven't started. They'll start when they're forced to, as with everything else.

>it was rushed to release due to a contract with Square Enix
To be fair they were years late on the planned release. The initial sandbox approach of Wakfu was neat but way too ambitious, and the systems ended up not being any fun or interesting.

>You're expected to repopulate areas of mobs and resources!
>Cool, how is it different from them just respawning normally like any other MMO
>...selfish players will ruin it for everyone else?

I never understood the point?

It was a cool concept until they forgot to give players a way to stop said selfish cunts. If you decimate the mob population you'll be much higher level than players who actually play nice, and they can't stop you. Ankama is good at neat ideas implemented very poorly.

But what was the point? Even today each area has an NPC that wants monsters/resources to stay within a certain arbitrary amount. If their wishes are met, everyone gets a bonus. So what's the point of NOW letting their wishes be met? Where's the choice? The depth?

Do comics count?

Hope you like the endless stream of Amalia/Eva

How the fuck do I know which buff or debuff is applied to characters in combat?

wakfu = right click the unit

dofus = click the unit's portrait in the turn order

That's stupid

how would you prefer it?

I really don't.

>oversaturation of evamalia shit

It hurts bro.

I would have liked at least like Female Iop to have a sizable collection of porn but fucking nothing at all.

France is Western Japan.

More like france isn't cucked by american SJWs and conservatives yet

Why not just make an offline singleplayer SRPG

Because the only reason they're still alive as a company is their one game that requires social interaction, dofus.

holy fuck!

Masqs are fun

Wakfu/Dofus as a whole does not get advertised much.
