Director's cut on PSone has the best balance of visuals and content, it's the one to go for
DS version has the most content but the visuals are downgraded, although it's not so noticeable on a small screen

Directors cut that maintains original audio for the purpose of getting access to "Advanced mode." People crying REmake is some challenging game, or that OG RE1 is "true survival horror" dont get to talk about shit unless they have complete Advanced mode save files for both characters. You dont know what Hunters really are until you have survived Advanced.

The Dualshock version isn't all bad. The soundtrack is really good in places, worth playing here and there if you like playing RE1.

Also, the visuals are mostly a little better, due to how Saturn handles 3D (oddly), though transparency is shit.
However, its also way more expensive than it needs to be, so I'd say Director's Cut on PS1.
