I spent six hours trying to get this piece of shit to compile, after much autism I finally got it to work.
This is absolutely incredible, it uses GNU buildchains so I can see this being compiled for x64 in the near future. Are you niggers ready for SM64 PC with mods?
but people have been making mods for Mario 64 on PC for years now
Hunter Taylor
that's actually pretty cool
Hunter Campbell
Host it on some git where nintendo can't take it down
Ian Martin
Is this the complete version or the same one that leaked sometime ago?
Gabriel Parker
its not going to be a port anymore. its going to be SM64PC, making new "romhacks" that much easier and probably better.
Dominic Parker
Mods running natively. Not reverse-engineered bullshit.
William Cox
The code is based around aztec tier ancient APIs, but because nintendo left debugging symbols in the final executable it is relatively simple to reverse engineer to its original code. Through some heavy tweaking we can pretty much do anything we want now, add new physics, levels, AI, mods, online etc.
Going from a ROM to a modern EXE won't be easy but its doable.
Hudson Sullivan
It'll be both easier to make them AND it allows for more in-depth mods
Logan Evans
Better come with install shield
Adrian Ross
Basically they found a way to make more in depth mods and are able to change a whole assortment of things. Look for a Mario 64 online in the future now
Jonathan White
Nude Peach when?
Asher Long
The crazy thing is that since the SM64 engine was so good it will be sued to recreate tons of games natively.
All the stuff that is gonna come out will be amazing. Hope we get to see something soon so brainlets like me can see just how far this can go.
Logan Barnes
More importantly. will you be able to lure scuttlebugs outside of their home room so that a proper jamboree may be assembled?
Landon Long
Other than a pc port I hope to see things done for the n64 version. No low lod mario and a constant 30 fps would be great.
Cooper Phillips
I’ve tried it, it’s really shitty
Colton Powell
Sure, if someone decides to make a scuttlebug jamboree mod.
Daniel Collins
>implying nintendo isn't going to shut this shit down before anyone can do anything worthwhile with it i've just been burned too many times before call me when some actual shit gets made and it doesn't get DMCA'd in the first week
lmao how do you think they can shut this down. its not some single dev or website
Isaiah Martin
Lmao this is gonna get shut down in record time Rev up those Lawyers
Eli Phillips
Thx OP I cum on cat it hiss at penis
Carter Stewart
The damage is done, the code is out there. They can shut down individual projects but not even Nintendo's most Semitic lawyer can put the genie back in the bottle.
William Flores
How?
Kevin Hernandez
based retards
Christopher Smith
>The damage is done, the code is out there. They can shut down individual projects but not even Nintendo's most Semitic lawyer can put the genie back in the bottle. Sure they can, all they do is start handing out cash for everyone to turn on each other.
It works a fucking charm.
Luis Turner
Don't they only go after the paymetons fags looking to get 30K a month from brain dead whales in exchange for an announcement of being sick every week and a texture every three months?
The team is only 65% done in making the code readable Sure, someone may pick it up when Nintendo DMCA's them, but the best situation right now is to let the team work in secret, and when they're done then you can talk about it. But for now STOP FUCKING TALKING ABOUT IT
Kevin Reyes
Based OP, hats off to you. Mario battle royale was just the beginning
One of the big obvious advantage this has: Mario 64 has a hardcoded limit of 51 maps Romhacks thus cannot have more then 51 maps.
Now, with this code, there is no limit to the amount of maps you can put in.
Levi Brooks
(you)
Evan Nguyen
My uncle works at Nintendo and says this is getting shut down soon.
Logan Nguyen
>super mario 64 battle royal} >bob-om battlefield first star >On mission start it's a massive clusterfuck brawl of marios kicking the shit out of each other >half the speedrun fags trying to BLJ get kicked to death, the other half don't get their QPUs lined up and get trapped in the void >some madman's got the koopa shell and is out for blood >assholes keep grabbing king bob-om and throwing him off the mountain to prolong the fight
Currently everything in the code is written for the N64 SDK But it is now possible for some autist to completely rewrite the rendering and input code to OpenGL or some shit, and then we could have the ZDoom of Mario 64.
OP compiled the emulator from scratch which is braindead simple to do on 95% of linux platforms (unless you're using specialized hardware).
>ut it is now possible for some autist to completely rewrite the rendering and input code to OpenGL or some shit
that's exactly how every emulator works already, so nothing new here. That's why SNES is such a hotbed for ROMHacks. The only _big_ news is that people are finally starting to realize the potential for N64 ROM Hacking, despite there being an active scene for a few years at this point
Eli Morales
No I didn't you retarded faggot. I compiled the ROM from the decompiled source on a virtual machine then moved the resulting ROM to my host machine and launched it up with mupen.
Lel you just exposed yourself as an absolute brainlet.
also
> is braindead simple to do on 95% of linux platforms (unless you're using specialized hardware).
Thats exactly waht cross compiling the ROM is, you cock sucking mongoloid
No The only reason Mario 64 works is because it was compiled with no compiler optimizations and debug symbols still on the rom. Later N64 games such as Star Fox and Zelda use compiler optimizations.
Hunter Bailey
>We have the source code for Super Mario 64
Can't wait for all the Doom style sourceport shit to come out
Benjamin Parker
>sued Well, you certainly git that right.
Oliver Parker
Who are they going to sue?
Nathaniel Nguyen
Whoever they can. It's Nintendo.
Mason Hernandez
I'd only care if it got online multiplayer
Jaxson Taylor
So nobody
Leo Russell
Nintendo programmers are too high IQ for faggots here.
Evan Parker
someone tell half a press man that his work is far from over
Gavin Thompson
He's one of the guys who helped decompile it, he knows.
Isaac Peterson
OP. But only if he's foolish enough to identify himself.
Wyatt Ross
> managing to decompile a n64 game
jesus fucking christ op do you realize what you've done?
Angel Butler
Does this have the potential to help N64 emulation?
Think of it like this. Stardew Valley has never had an HD overhaul mod because the game is hardcoded to pixel shit. A change like this would allow for 4k lettuce and country thots.
Connor Phillips
Has anyone tried using machine learning to create a bot to decompile games faster/automagically?
Xavier Cox
OP compiled it, not decompiled it. This was originally done like two weeks ago.
Ethan Ortiz
>Host it on some git where nintendo can't take it down Torrents are basically the only option if you want something to be untouchable.
Ethan Morales
>OoTPC >MMPC Oh shit. Don't blueball me like this, user. I don't need to be teased with a reason to live. kh3 already crushed my last hope of avoiding the rope.
Josiah Watson
Yes. They seem to have a policy to avoid slippery slopes. They go after smalltime patreonfags and such that are barely making any money just to make the point that they will not allow monetizing their property. They do it early and often to make sure it doesn't get out of hand. They've always been like that.
Caleb Sanders
see
Aaron Turner
Thanks, I'll be able to rest easy now.
Kayden Wilson
wouldn't it be easier just to build a new "mario 64" engine on the pc?
They left debug tools in the game that modders found. This autist used the debug tools to waste hundreds of hours of time to rebuild the code using those debug tools.
Noah Thompson
source? has she done porn?
Jacob White
Best way to distribute it is to find some way to easily generate the source code from the ROM, and then apply patches to it as needed.
Benjamin Cox
Yes but it won't be accurate to the original. A lot of Mario 64 autism comes from bugs found in the original game. If you're curious, checkout the old days of the Blood source port scene and look at all the gameplay bugs and differences.
Aiden Sullivan
Holy shit this is incredible news to wake up to. Thanks, user
