also, i don't want to say only aaa garbage should count, but that game was sold for like 1-2 usd and barely anyone played, which means no art at all and the graphics are really limited, so you don't really get a whole lot to look at. iirc the art in game during cutscenes doesn't show much of her body either (or you just get text bubbles?). i appreciate the character design, but everything else about it is just disappointing

Normies have shit taste. That's literally the explanation. A woman with any muscle definition is seen as weird fetish bait. They're allowed when you have a big ensemble cast and the devs are allowed to make "outlandish" characters to cover as many bases as possible, hence why fighting games have so many more than any other genre, but if it's a game with only one or two women in it, they have to be as normie acceptable as possible. Occasionally devs will be able to slip in a fetishy character as an extreme ancillary / villain, since they aren't as restricted by normie rules of acceptability.

Fighting games want you to see that these characters can hold their own against each other despite the insane powergaps. Also bodytypes are really good for silhouette tests and fightans don't go noticed without insane, sexy or cool fighters at the helm
