main endings run A route, B route, and then C/D route which unlocks chapter select anyway and you can basically sandbox anything you haven't done in the game if you choose to do it

If you're thinking back to Original Nier the next endings aren't like that except for B a bit. You start later on and skip a lot of the stuff just to get that second story in but you don't replay the whole game.
I thought that too after starting B and my friend told me to keep going and I was pleasantly surprised.

I really wanted to love this game but the gameplay was just too bland to play through it not one, not two, but three times to get the full experience. It got tedious 10 hours in the first playthrough, so when I read that I had to play through it two more times I just gave up. Doesn’t help that the second playthrough is supposedly even more tedious than the first. Maybe I’ll give it another shot sometime down the road, but for now it’s just a huge disappointment

Relax, quit being a baby just because somebody didn’t love your favorite game. I’m not even saying it’s objectively bad or anything. I would’ve loved to experience it (and am still willing to give it another shot), it’s just unfortunate that the experience is locked behind gameplay that I don’t find to be compelling.

Yeah keep playing until Ending E. It’s not really alternate endings, it’s just a straight pathway. Endings F-Z are all just hidden easter eggs.

Nier 1 had worse gameplay and even more repetitive fetch quests and everyone gives it a pass.
You also have to play through the same parts of Nier 1 with even more minimal difference.
