Just finished Twin Snakes. It was kino.
What do you think of it?
Just finished Twin Snakes. It was kino
five five sixers and pineapples.
The Matrix
the translation is fucked
it was too anime even for metal gear, the no scope thing crossed the line
It's not on Playstation so I hate it.
this
I have fond memories of it. I hadn't played a MGS game until Snake Eater came out on the 3DS and finishing that made me want more and eventually I managed to track down Twin Snakes at a local Gamestop and that was the last game I bought before I moved and the first one I beat after I was at my new place. I even hooked my Wii up in the car TV to play on the way.
I recently got this and I’m ducking awful at it. Playing on Normal with the Radar and I seems to always get seen by a single pixel, can never escape in time and then get shot to death.

It's actually more accurate to the original Japanese script.
Cool story, lemme subscribe to your blog
> Dolphin exists
Are you some kind of idiot that unironically feels loyalty to a brand?
shit. My favorite thing about orginal MGS1 is how grounded and "realistic" it is compared to future entries. Twin Snakes just make it silly. Maybe this appeals to low-IQ DMC fans but to a patricians it was a major downgrades

got'em
One of the biggest wasted potentials ever with a remake.
I was hoping they were going to update and change things up like with the Resident Evil remake, but instead they just copied the whole PS1 layout. That in itself isin't bad but when you include the gameplay additions (FPS aiming, hanging) it completely unbalances the whole game making it way too easy.
I mean christ when you enter the Tank Hanger from the top vent you can head shot all the guards and jump over the railing, negating 90% of the whole room.
Bosses haven't been revamped and are just boring to fight and despite using the same engine as MGS2 it somehow looks worse.
The only change which I'm conflicted about is the cutscenes, on one hand they changed them up which is good but made Snake out to be like an acrobatic superhero (jumping to then double jump off a missile to fire a rocket at the Hind D).
I wanted to love this but the only thing worth seeing is the ridiculous action in the cutscenes.
I didn't care for it. First person ironically ruined the challenge for me, the cutscenes we're way, way too over the top, and worse, the cast fucking phoned it in compared to the original v/o. They honestly would have been better served by cleaning up and reusing the original voice track.
And the music sucked.
The true takeaway from all of this is that MGS1 is the worst Metal Gear game
I enjoyed playing both versions. I do prefer Twin Snakes, but you should also play the original. If you had played the original, I don't feel like you need to play Twin Snakes. Would like to see a Switch port.
no, survive is. but we can all agree mgs2 is the best one.
My very first MGS game, and almost immediately made me a fan of MGS. It's one of my favorites.
Pleb alert
This is the dumbest fucking argument. MGS has never been fucking grounded nor realistic. It's goofy as fuck, even when it went SPR SRS NO FUN ALLOWED in V
