you have it backwards actually. if pvp is TOO balanced then it becomes unfun and sterile. the reason classic pvp is more fun for more people than modern is BECAUSE of the imbalance. having actual one shot macros and more pvp scenarios things get interesting real quick.

Healers in MMORPG PvP is mega cancer. In WoW, it's ESPECIALLY boring. You literally just sit and wait until dampening kicks in to accomplish anything after 10 minutes of doing nothing.

I havent played mmos for years but ffxiv ignoring pvp is what stopping me and thousands of others to even try it. Pve only lasts for so long.

the entire concept of the MMO has been run into the ground thanks to the likes of EA and activision monetizing the fucking time you spend in the game.

it really says something when you are offered an option to spend an additional 60 dollars to skip the entire leveling experience. also the pvp is unfair as fuck and is just a roflstomp for whoever has the best gear, see battlefront 2

Its just not a focus of the game really. There is barely anything to do pvp-wise and balancing is pretty bad, too. Not to say that wow's pvp is exceptional but at least its a considerable element of the game that is touched often, with ff its just a distant afterthought at best, its a pve game first and foremost.
