Holy fuck how awful it's basically far cry

It's Mass Effect with a Fallout skin, and that's not a good thing.

best fallout

no

Even the worst Bethesda game isn't on par with a "literally just a list of chores" Ubisoft game.

fallout 4 gameplay + fallout nv roleplay = best game
shame it will never exist

>and that's not a good thing
To you, maybe. That sounds like an awesome combination. Might just buy it now.

Even 76?

That's insulting to both Mass Effect and Fallout.

shit rpg
good looty shooty. i just pretend the storyline doesn't exist and treat the game like it's Stalker but in the fallout universe

Mass Effect had memorable characters. Some of them likeable.

Sarcastic options can be funny at time though
>Poor little girl who lives at the slum part in the harbor asks you for help
>”Sorry kid, my plate is full”

This is the Fallout game I played the most, even moreso than New Vegas. It's just more stable and it rarely crashed.

It’s a huge time sink. I feel like I barely played it, but I have 110 hours logged. I’m guessing 80% of that was gathering trash.

A very glitchy Far Cry.

I don't remember a building mechanic in Mass Effect.

>Even the worst Bethesda game isn't on par with a "literally just a list of chores" Ubisoft game.
Bethesda's games aren't much better, especially with their plots lately. At least Ubisoft gives you a closer form of stability and AAA polish compared to "fuck you, use third party mods if you don't like it" MO from Bethesda.

Based

Bethesda games recently have been very stable unless you use mods. There are still some random ass bugs in the game though. Good thing the command console is there.
The question is why there a so few games having Bethesda formula
>Full on character customization for both male and female
>Character building
>Playable in both first and third person
>Most of the world are accessible right after the tutorial
>Bunch of optional questlines besides main story
>Full on modding support
I know the character building has gotten worse over time but it's still there at least. Dragon's Dogma comes super close to this. Obviously DD has superior gameplay but the world is so lacking. I really wish DD2 would take notice from Beth games

My problem with Bethesda is while most of your greentext is technically in their games they're often devolved to be worse with each subsequent release or done to shocking levels of laziness.
For example, yes, there might be a bunch of optional questlines but they are meaningless "clear this 467th overrun settlement" or you can complete them the exact same way despite your build every single playthrough. It's frustrating because with their resources and reach they should be churning out fantastic games that push the envelope each time, but instead we get greed and laziness. But yeah, nobody else is really challenging them in the same way.

Fallout 4 was full of good ideas that were very poorly executed. Along with just a few blatantly bad ones.

It's fine to have a player character who has a more defined backstory and attachments to certain individuals, just the way those relationships was executed was poor. Shaun blew his load way too early and in a bizarre way, and your resolution with him involving the Synth child is kinda odd. It can feel good to see the communities you help grow and build up, but it shouldn't be a chore you're constantly responsible for that ends up offering few to no benefits. It's good to diversify armor sets and clothing to allow different styles, but why they'd all have to make them all so butt ugly?

Honestly I blame the writer for this. He thought it would be a good idea to merge the side stories with the main quest and each of them only has a small amount of actual quests instead of radiant quests.. This was completely different from Skyrim or Oblivion and even Fallout 3 to an extent. Heck, even Far Harbor was completely at another level compare to the main game: A good story, actually interesting enemies design. It shows that the team obviously can design decent quests but most likely the writer just gives them something stupid to work with. And of course Todd is also to blame but probably he was trying out new stuff. Settlement is a success whether we like it or not. Voiced protag was a mistake and even him admit that. All in all, there's still a good chance their next games will improve but they need to fire Emil asap for writing the shit story in FO3,4 and Skyrim.

The whole kid thing was inspired by the fact that he had just become a father himself.

This board is for whites only.

I think you mean like Skyrim with guns.

Yeah, this definitely doesn't help. I just can't fucking stand how AAA games feel the need to expose you to every single piece of content they create, which in turn makes your decisions meaningless and multiple playthroughs all but pointless. I know companies don't do it much because it means more time and money (and because casuals don't replay games anyways) but how fucking cool would it be to be barred from the College of Winterhold if your spellcasting wasn't up to par, or being told by the Thieve's Guild to fuck off if you didn't build enough for stealth?

Don't you dare talking shit about him.
My sweet Emil is going to ruin even more universes and franchises, and I will not let you offend him.

If Farcry had shit gunplay no movement options shit story looked like garbage and had nothing to do beside be a settlement janny to npcs you mean?

>cool would it be to be barred from the College of Winterhold if your spellcasting wasn't up to par, or being told by the Thieve's Guild to fuck off if you didn't build enough for stealth?
god that would be cool

Hey! Stop eating paint chips!

It's part of why I almost never replay Bethesda games, maybe outside of experimenting and fucking around with big mods. Shit always ends up feeling samey to me after a few hours unless I heavily handicap myself or refuse to play certain quests or build a character a certain way.
My dream game is one sort of like NV in that your decisions actually mean shit and what you choose locks you out of certain quests or endings until another playthrough. And not Mass Effect 3 color choosing shit, actual things early on, especially if they also limit your build so you can be a master of certain things instead of a jack of all trades. Shit will never happen because it would mean too much unseen content """wasted""" but a lad can dream.

The fuck are you doing? Mods make the game more stable unless you’re just tossing random shit into your manager. Unofficial patches and optimization patches alone meant zero crashes, higher frame rates and no more stutters. I’m running hundreds of mods in my load order and I haven’t seen a crash in months.
