Is 1 actually worth playing? I played all three and the only map i can remember is 3's because I just remember not liking the map in that one.
Obviously, the map is very important to me.

I would personally argue that 1 is THE best Skate game, the only thing it lacks that it really needs is the ability to get off the skateboard and run around. The map is great and 1 has the best physics by far in my opinion, 2 and 3 started to compromise on a lot of things, the board was far more inclined to magically stick to your feet and the skater in general, you gained speed ridiculously fast whereas in Skate 1 you were really reliant on maintaining speed off of big downhill runs for any serious tricks, and the tolerance for magically pivoting to align with ramps/half pipes whilst you were air born was increased dramatically in 2/3 Skate 1 really required you to be precise and set yourself up to pull off tricks.

1 really is great, and 2 would be my second favourite. I really couldn't get into 3 because of the map at all, it was trying to be too extreme and it ended up pushing the physics/gameplay to the point of it being extremely funky at times and it felt less like a city with interesting places to skate and more like a series of skate parks mooshed together. 1 just has a really nice grounded feel to it where you can spend hours just trying to master the simplest of spots, it's just a really tightly designed map.

Skate 3 took the Skate series to it's logical conclusion of preposterously over the top. It's the best one.

2 looks butt ugly, runs poorly on PS3, you can't turn off annoying ass ai skaters that ruin your chill time and doesn't have as many tricks or features. 3 has a worse world but you can hit people with your skateboard and it has darkslide and doesn't run or look like ass. 2 has looser controls which are fun and the world is better.
