Once you get to the desert area. This is unironically one of those games that only gets good like 5 hours in. I picked it up and dropped it like 3 times slogging through the beginning before I finally got hooked
The gameplay / combat gets better as you come across more weapons. The story is shallow as fuck but you'll have a good enough time setting up traps/ ambushes and making the enemies turn on each other etc.
>Playstation hits.
I wish they would stop this bullshit. Just drop the price and move the fuck on. These fucking things ruin my collection.
>These fucking things ruin my collection
who are you showing it off to?
Yea Forums, my mom and my dog.
>tfw poorfag and most of my collection going back to ps2 has this red banner
It's a boring ubisoft open world all throughout, but there is some interesting story stuff if you stick to main quests
It rewards players who paid more to buy a game early / on release with a more valuable edition, and they want to encourage players to buy early / pay more
I dont mind the Xbox silver "platinum hits" cases or the PS3 ones where they are solid red. Adds some color to my collection. The PS4 ones look ass though.
No, combat sucks balls, can't believe I was meme'd into playing it.
The emp arrow ruined what could have been a half decent game.
It's got some of the best combat of any open-world ARPG. Against the robots at least
What EMP arrow?
Then you get outfit with skirt
The purple one or whatever, it just rapes the machine in 2-5 arrows devolving them into using like 2 moves
So boring
Smelly Aloy!
Shooting arrows with garbage melee isn't my idea of good, sorry
Tearblast arrows are trash you scrub. You never played on ultra hard. The tearblaster (sonic shotgun thing) is seriously 10 times more effective at tearing shit off enemies, even at longish range.
What is actually broken overpowered is using freezing arrows to freeze the enemy. Shots to their armor plates to the same damage as shots to their body, and all shots do triple damage on top of that
Ropecaster + Freeze Bomb/Arrows + Hardened triple knocked charged arrows make everything but Frostclaws dead in seconds, it's crazy.
*shrug*
I played the game @ launch for like 3 weeks on the hardest difficulty and just deleted it after I 100% it.
>starts out kinda boring
>gets better once I start finding more gadgets
>gets boring again when I just freeze and snipe weak points over and over again because it felt like the quickest way to dispatch literally everything in the game
Still liked it overall. Was the DLC any good? I was going to get it and then it just sort of came and went and I was distracted by other games.
Frozen Wilds was miles better than the base game
DLC's got harder enemies, newer bows and weapons that are pretty overpowered, a pretty decent story that explains Hades a bit, and the areas in general are nice. It's worth the money for sure if you enjoyed the base game. If you do it before you beat the game Sylens also comments on the stuff you find there.
They finally stopped Witcher 3 dialog animations cuts and resets in it. Thank god
Nah f-am, really don't want to play as Ashly Burch for 30 hours.
I suppose I will be revisiting the game soon then.
Never
Lying faggot
Nah not even close. Even BotW and Witcher 3 have a million times better combat. HZD is just garbage in every aspect.
once you get to areas where everything starts kicking your ass
Eh, I find all 3 to have equally boring combat
space invaders has better combat than TW3. you're lying out of your ass if youre implying anything is worse
You are retarded. Shit opinion probably just based off muted webms of seeing how the arrows fly
Hzd has better combat than botw or tw3 because you can craft ammo on the fly
All three games have pretty shitty melee combat
Skyrim definitely has worse combat than Witcher 3.
The mechanics of this game are too shallow to play it solely for the gameplay. The visuals are what carry it as an experience.
