What are the best detective games?
The one in the image you posted
A lot of point and click adventure ones, like Still Life, Gemini Rue, stuff like that.
Deadly Premonition is peak SOUL in games.
Sequel never.
Hotel Dusk and Last Window
To be fair, it didn't really ever need a sequel.
Heavy Rain, LA Noire
I've played through this game 4 times and it never dawned on me just how ridiculous that is.
Based
Literally the most kino police detective game ever made.
That one. Also Hotel Dusk and Flower, Sun and Rain.
This, the ending totally satisfied. Dark Dreams Don't Die being forever unfinished is the one that physically pains me.
Why did this got bad reviews anyway.
The things it does does it competently, the graphics are just fucking ugly and sometimes it looks like a ps1 game, but the stuff it actually does in game is competent, in objective terms you can't rate this lower than 55-65% and this is purely because of the awful car sound, the RE1 gunplay and the graphics.
Obra Dinn is the best one.
Horrible SFX, performance issues, gameplay is just one-note, non-existent level design, game has a lot of issues.
It gets a pass on Yea Forums for the 10/10 dialogue and humour, general aesthetic/theming, as well as the story going batshit towards the end.
is that Sebastian and Kidman?
This. I watched my roommate play this shit and I will admit it had us laughing our asses off at the dialogue sometimes. But actually playing the game seemed like a chore.
Batman Arkham?
It really is. I can't describe what soul is but everything about the dialogue, setting, the animations in this game is overflowing with soul.
