There is no game in existence that has that many unique models of anything. The people mad about the Pokedex shit can't accept something that was always going to happen, whether it was for these games or the next. It was inevitable.

I'm not sure if the fact that these people can't recognize that comes from some place of entitlement or just a complete lack of rational thought, but regardless it's time to grow up. It's fucking Pokemon.

If the meme they made about cutting pokemon to increase animation quality were true people wouldn't mind as there clearly would be a trade being made for improved quality. But there isn't, it's clear that the models are as stiff as the 3DS games and they're not even including the rest of the pokemon for it. If the Pokemon were more lively in trade for the cut there wouldn't be this controversy.

it's hard to justify having an open world pokemon game like this but also keep the turn-based battling that is the only reason Pokemon is still fun.

Japs somehow manage to make furries even worse than actual furries make furries. They try to make them look anime so instead of having a normal animal mouth they end up with this big nose and a separated mouth that's on their chin and it looks bizarre.

I feel like they're just trying to slowly ease into being lazier and lazier. They're already reusing models and animations from past games. I bet GF's dream is to make a full priced Pokemon game that has the same kind of animations and static characters as the gen 1/2 gameboy games, and then the only real effort they'd have to put in is designing more digimon.

First game include 300 or so. Second game contains rehashes the same 300 while including another 300 new Pokemons. Rinse and repeat. Easy. They could even do expansions in between to add more.

This argument ignores three basic principles
1) New pokemon exist.
2) New modes facilitating entirely new animation suites will (probably exist)
3) He wasn't talking about these games specifically, but about the Pokemon games as a whole, and the entire production workflow going forward.

honestly if they just took pixelmon, remade most of what it does not in minecraft and plopped a dozen cities along with the normal shit you'd expect into it they'd have a pretty great pokemon game. they could still reuse the 3ds models like they're doing anyway and they could make it look as bad as sword and shield look visually, but if they had all the pokemon realized in an explorable open world where they spawn in the biomes that make sense, where you can fly on any large enough flying pokemon without it needing to know fly and you actually control where you're flying I don't think people would mind. people don't expect revolutionary games from game freak, but there's only so much low quality garbage and cut content they're willing to take
