I went in with low expectations (based on what I had heard from fans) and a desire to love it and I still came away disappointed. Game picks up a bit once you get to play as Chris, everything before that is aids. That tyrant bossfight in the plane has to be one of the shittiest bossfights in history. Jill's game is superior.

It's only worth playing as a diehard Resident Evil fan. It's quite mediocre, and I hope that if Capcom remakes 3, they'll remake CV.

I played on a PS2 emulator. It was fine

luckily ammo conservation is easy as fuck in CV is easy considering how easy it is to cheese with the knife. I don't think I shot even a single zombie on my second runthrough.

I think it is really worth playing if you are a die-hard RE fan. It's really good.

I really enjoyed the Ashford story, the game played fine.

The boss fights were absolute shit tho, especially Tyrant/Nosferatu/Alexia 3

360 version is vastly superior to all other versions. It's one of the few games i went autist on to get the no save speed run

Nosferatu is a good fight since it relies on player skill ending it as quickly as possible. Alexia 3 is hoping you fired at the right spot where she dodges.

Maybe, but even as a kid I never had a problem with him. Alexia 3 is abhorrent tho. Honestly all 3 Alexia's are bad, even without cheese

The gimmick is saving all the explosive crossbow bolts and then unloading them into her. This is actually the most viable strategy.

The most important thing about this game is that it establishes Claire's ass as the most powerful force in the entire franchise

I got it as a kid and had full expectations of it being as good as RE1-RE3, and I hated it. From the very beginning it is cheesy as hell. I played up to the Nosferatu boss fight before dropping it

CV is the perfect evolution of the PS1 RE games, but it's just a direct evolution, more of the same and in greater intensity.

Where's muh Raccoon City? The Umbrella bases were so boring I didn't even know where they were supposed to be. Where are my cool characters? Wesker and Claire were suddenly acting like they were in The Matrix, and Steve is so fucking cringey. I didn't care about the Ashfords and T-Veronica was the anime 'teleports-behind-u' virus.

It's like they wanted to make it something very different, like what RE4 became, but were "held back" by having attachments to the earlier entries in the series.

I really hope they don't fuck up RE 3 remake if they do end up remaking it. It's one of my favorite RE games too user. I still have it on PS Vita but can't play it anymore because it keeps freezing and its a digital game.

Gamecube controllers have the absolute best button assignment for classic resident evil games. I played 1, 2, and 3 on the Gamecube and CV on ps2 and the map button was in such an awkward place.

I can't speak to dreamcast quality though.

but 0 needs a remake the most since it's the worst mainline title and almost the worst RE in general

Bad games don't deserve remakes. That means CV and 0. You couldn't remake them to be good without changing so much that they wouldn't even be remakes anymore

It looks like a Dreamcast/early PS2 game, which is what it is.

The 'remaster' kind of blows because they used excessive lighting or lack of it meaning you can barely see shit unless you have the lighter equipped at all times.
