With only a few exceptions, they didn't do very well even when the idiotic companies thought they were popular. Nobody I knew cared about them and clearly they didn't do well financially. The "fad" burned itself out. And the kids who grew up to become the next generation of game designers didn't make caveman games. Because they didn't like them as kids.

Besides, futuristic dystopias are the easy alternative to that, and easier for fags to relate to it or self-insert into it, I don't know

far cry primal is basically a mod for far cry 4. Same map geometry (obviously things ON it are different but like, mountains in the same place, there's even a few of the same clips to go out of bounds, etc) and you also control fucking animals with your mind so no not really. It's looking like he wants that ancestors game, if it ends up not being total shit/ever gets out of earl yaccess.
