There's nothing wrong with it in concept. Where it gets annoying is when it becomes a main focal point of the character's design. For the record, I don't think Tracer and Soldier 76 being gay is a bad thing; I think everyone's negative opinion on it is due to Blizzard using it for woke points (and also as a smokescreen to distract people from all of the bullshit ActiBlizzard has been pulling recently). That's also a big contributor to people's disdain of it; people acting like it's a positive to someone's moral compass for being gay. I think corporations are to blame for that.

Characters that have the main character trait of 'My main priority is getting ass' tend to be annoying, whether it be girl ass or man ass. Very few of these characters are written well enough to make it acceptable. That's why people get so exasperated with gay characters; being gay isn't a personality trait, it's a sexual orientation.
