I have, but fuck weightlifting 3x a week. I do it 2x and one more intensive cardio (2 hours of mountain biking, swimming pool, HIIT running). My only motivation was looking like Big Boss by the time I'm 29 (his age in MGS3), but then I found out I'm a balding manlet so I just do it because if I stop I might as well kill myself with how burnt out I am on everything and how shit I will feel in my body without that.

legitimately i had a lower back injury due to weak and stressed muscles. after the pain of recovery, doing that, as recommended by ddp, i managed to strengthen them. and if i ever sit too long or they feel stressed again, i do it a couple of times to release that tension and strengthen them more. i havent felt lower back pain since.

I do, I started going to the gym and eating better a year ago and have shifted from 350 to 200.
Thing is, once I got to that point and still wanting to go down, I cut so hard that, in tandem with going to the gym six days a week, I had a nasty breakdown and spent a week just eating trash and not exercising. Back on track now and crawling my way back to 200, thankfully one week isn't a long time to do damage, I should be back to it in about a month or so maybe a month and a half If I want to re-tune my intake.

I fucked up my back a few years back so I'm not allowed to lift anymore. But I still run and do light exercises everyday to stay in shape. Yard work helps with that too.

Is there a point in working out if you aren't going to eat properly?

Yeah I do some core just to keep a bit of strength, and otherwise I just go out and run a few miles every two or three days, depending on my knees and muscles. I've found as I grow older it's become more difficult to get back into the swing of things when I take a few weeks or even a month off. My knees especially just give my all sorts of pain until I pop them, but after a few runs things get back to normal. Hoping to keep running year around again so as to avoid that in the future and to maintain my body, but the winters always kill me.

Why should I bother exercising when I plan on dying relatively soon
