Just beat it. Mechanically it's better than 4.1 but otherwise it'st just more of the same. I don't really feel like continuing since I feel burned out on it. Ignore the anchors until all the greys are dead or get the anchors asap?
For 94 I rushed all the anchors myself and then kited the mobs for the rest of the map, but that might not be an option when you're not playing wing diver or fencer.

To be frank, this game is easier to beat solo, because you don't have to deal with people who can't play, I'm playing alone and up until Brutal battlefield you barely have to put any effort to win.
If you need some advice here's how I did that mission: at the beggining there are no real tactics, you will get swarmed no matter what you do, just kill shit as hard as you can, try to not get surrounded and backpedal, preferably into the lower left corner of the map, that's where grim reapers will spawn. After that, ant queens and red drones will spawn, prioritize queens, they aren't scary up close, but at the range their AOE is very annoying to deal with, red drones aren't really scary since there are only 2 of them and on hard difficulty their damage is pretty low, though if they target you make sure to knock them away. Proceed to rush teleportation ships one after another, if the horde gets too big stop and cull them down, repeat until you win. There are probably riskier tactics that allow you to beat that mission faster, but the one I described is pretty safe.

no you have to get gear now which give you more boosts, it goes up to a shitload later on but pretty slow to start. Jumping during a dash covers a lot more ground also
While there are a lot of voice files, they're call lumped by category (main story, then specific NPCs, then songs, then radio broadcasts).
Air raider is about being smart. You literally need above average IQ to figure out which weapons can actually do crazy things.

Not him, but most things Fencer does, other classes, mostly Wing Diver, do better. Their best contributions are high damage single target ranged weapons, and macross missile spam vs air units. Don't get me wrong, Fencer is hecka fun, but as far as practicality goes it's not the best.

You don't even need Ranger for underground. Air Raider can hold W in his depth crawler with turrets on top and beat most underground missions, and picking Wing Diver might as well just auto complete every underground mission in the game.

The only thing fencer does better than Ranger is escape. Ranger's weapons outclass fencer's in literally every single conceivable way. Burst, sustain, range, speed, accuracy, and aoe all have Ranger come out on top.

just started 5 and its my first EDF game, cruising through normal as ranger and so far up to around mission 60, dabbled a bit with the other classes but all my best gear is with the ranger. Just wondering what the standard procedure is with these games, should I be farming previous missions on hard for better gear like I have been doing or just play through the whole thing on normal first? Because the hard level farming kind of burnt me out and made all the new missions on normal kind of tedious and unchallenging. How many missions in total are there anyway?

U wot m8? DL has better range than some of her medium ranged weapons. You're also wrong about the damage. A similarly leveled DL does nearly as much damage, in a weapon that can fire every two seconds, pierces, and uses no energy unlike the energy guzzler Phalanx.
They're both great weapons though. Phalanx is for blending tightly packed frogs/ayys, and DL is for instantly popping their heads off if they're slightly more spread out.

Argo is what I missed the most. It definitely added to the sense of scale and dread that the EDF is facing, because you see a spaceship turn into a fucking mecha right before you eyes and start bombing you.

What the fuck am I supposed to do on mission 109? It's so fucking easy and then I just get melted once the last shield drops. I tried using an Eros to fly up there and destroy the turrets pre-emptively but they weren't dropping and then I got rekt by the laser cannon ayy anyway.

A horde mode that gradually increases in enemy count/types, allowing you to change weapons between waves (not sure if I'd prefer weapon drops to be from your usual pool or from what you get during that session).
A third weapon slot for the Ranger, with half speed pocket reloading on some weapons.
A proper debrief post-final mission that talks about what's going to happen next to rebuild a bit.

The Mech. Split Air Raider's vehicle pool so he mostly uses his air raids but still has tanks, ambulances, helicopters and APCs, but give a new class the mech class. Instead of preloaded mechs, you unlock customisation options for it, starting from the frame and extending to weapons on each node (arm, shoulder, etc). You call in your mech with points as usual, starting with a certain number of points. The player would have to judge whether to massively trick out their mech and have it require a billion points, or keep it within instant-call range. Sans mech, he would be fairly slow but have decent shotgun type weapons, with NO long range options.
Armor skins, more GIANT INSECTS FROM ARIZONA dialogue, more of the Ace Combat tier main character development from EDF5 (civilian to newbie to storm 1 badass), i dont want to be able to pick male or female because male wing divers would be fucking gay, more huge battle sequences

Mechs aren't core to the air raider, they're just a better option than the others. His tanks are good, his APCs are good, his helis are situationally good, the depth crawler is fucking amazing. He can live without Mechs, and expanding them as a class could be cool I think.
In terms of sheer firepower AR seems to be the top. I've seen queens spawn and get vaporized a second later by like 6 airstrikes at once. A queen vs an AR in a mech with airstrikes stands absolutely no chance. Fencer can reflect everything, rangers and WDs have to hope they don't get hit by acid.

Melee oriented class. They have skates and a jetpack and are covered with very light armor. Standard weapon is a big fuckoff sword that they do all sorts of slashes with. Variations of weapons include dual blades, lances, sword and shield combos, dual and giant axes, pilebunkers, fists, and hammers. Notable upgrades would be the ability to spin around like a beyblade of doom or throw their weapon long distances for massive damage.

Wing Diver has to be fast. It's the glass cannon class and has direct counters in the game.
Air Raider has auto-turrets and defensive emplacements but they don't really see use because of their strength as an AIR RAIDER.

The fucking Delaroy's kicked my shit in at first, but eventually I found it you can very easily declaw them with an MLAA's.
Then the fucking Mother Monster hunt mission absolutely fucked me in the ass untill I discovered Fencers can basically negate their attacks just by boosting.
Then came the Rollers. Oh my fucking god, the roller mission. It was absolute bullshit.
I eventually cheezed it by just huddling down in a carpark carpetting the whole area with Air Rider air strikes... but I have no fucking idea how to fight against that bullshit without cheezing the shit out of it.

Trick to rollers is to hit them at the end of their roll. If you want to beat that mission properly, try going WD with a forward thrust core. You let them follow you until they get tired, then you slaughter them all with a nice phalanx hosedown.

Literally driving a bike without dying instantly is a harder than "placing delayed AoEs" which is just called leading a target, or complex strats like using a vehicle as a shield. And even if there were some omega high level gameplay, it still doesn't fix the incredibly bad AR players who don't understand the game because they got carried by facefuck DPS.
I prefer AR actually being able to do damage, as opposed to 4.1 where even his strongest tank can't outrun an ant on Inferno and dies to a sneeze, and the bombing runs that only pissed everything off. 4.1 AR was fun but some missions were obscene if you were trying to solo them as an AR.

I do miss being able to dash cancel hand cannons, that was an absolute blast in 4.1
Equip autocannon/minigun and use it against everything. It tears drones apart and can stunlock ayys while shredding their armor like tissue. You should always have an autocannon/minigun on you. Lapis cannon as a heavy backup, and then a bombing run or spritefall for crowd control.

Yeah, WD seemed like a pretty good choice, though the fuckers can jump up in the air and hit flying objects surprisingly easily.
I do avoid playing WD's entirely though, for a simple reason. The experience with EDF 4.1 has taught me that going back from WD's to any other class safe for maybe tricked up Fencer is PAINFUL, because of the lack of mobility. I spoiled EDF 4.1 by playing a lot of WD's, so I try to avoid playing them at least until I finish my first Ranger-focused playthrough.

A class that is basically mechanical Spiderman with pile bunkers and can fling itself barreling into hordes of enemies. Also has really tall, deployable cover, just in case all the buildings are destroyed and there's otherwise nothing to swing off of. Grabbing an enemy instead allows you to swing *them* around and knock away/ragdoll other enemies.
Weapons are all various melee weapons (of which pile bunkers are the main one) and different kinds of string/cable to swing with.

I ran through 4.1 spamming turrets and I'm gonna do the same here once I do my Air Raider run. They're seriously underrated and people have no idea how much breathing room they can give your team.
All they had to do was take AR's bike from 4.1, fix the god awful handling, and replace the pea shooter with the character's ability to use their own weapons in a drive-by. Fencer excluded obviously.

What weapons are fun to use for Wing Diver? I'm trying different things but they all seem kind of boring

How is this vehicle? I fired the main cannon once and the massive recoil instantly made me not want to use it further. Also I have already got killed multiple times by another teammate using it, due to the massive splash.

typically I use the biggest dragoon lance I have + whatever plasma cannon does the most damage.
dragoon lance can usually kill frogs in one hit, ayyyys in two. It's also decent for swarms of weaker enemies since you can shoot it before it fully charges.
Deroys take one hit to the "head" from the heavy plasma cannon.
Mother Monsters.
Its great for instantly killing anything around you as your massive shot will inevitably get caught by the smallest of debris

Phalanx is the first and best, its damage output is great. You divebomb an ayy and it loses a limb at the very least. Bolt gun is a strong backup gun if you figure out how it works. Lance is good, I mainly go for double lance because I don't like the dragoon's recoil. Plasmafall is an option, but it's a bomb, not a mortar. Fly over the enemy and drop it on their heads.
Also, use your balls. Split ball in particular is really strong, and they don't even use energy, just a timed cooldown.
Well it's allies that are around you more often than enemies. That explains the numerous friendly fire incidents.

Dragoon lances might be better in the long run, but they feel clunky to use for me.

The 4.1 song says the ayylmaos came back. In that universe its the 2nd invasion. On the other hand the invasion in 5 is the first.

What Armor level are people seeing for Hardest/Inferno lobbies? Just beat the game on solo hard and I'm sitting on only about 900 armor or so.
They found a teleportation ship in India that had been there for thousands of years, formed EDF to fight against the inevitable invasion, didn't tech up quite fast enough.
At 900 armor youre most likely gonna get oneshotted by a single grey ant shotgunning you, or a single pellet from a gold ant

You always hear about him on missions, would be neat to play a game where you have to stealth your way through the city to mark key targets and ensure the troops are well informed about the enemy waves, maybe even fighting a few off yourself with smaller arms like SMGs. Other equipment can help him go unnoticed by the enemies easier or move faster.
Beating levels is done by increasing the percentage of success for the troops by marking targets, sabotage, and making it out of the area in one piece.
God damn I hate this armor grind. Farming for weapons isn't too bad but farming health just to play on higher difficulties is insufferable. Can't even hide in vehicles anymore like I did in 4.1 when I cleared Inferno with only 1500 health.

What user said. If you want a safer option, then replace one of the cannons with a heavy shield, deroys won't be able to break through it and you can deflect their shots back at them.
At least this game lets you afk grind for armor
missile launchers. my favorite is the one with the jump boost but as a safety measure you should always jump straight up before firing it to avoid blowing yourself up

Is single Gallic viable? I've always used them in pairs but it's only meta on maps with pylons, motherships, mother monsters, teleporters... basically far away huge stationary stuff.

Better physics for building destruction and debris so they can't be shot through and don't sink into the ground seconds after you damage a building. Basically, when you shoot a building with a tank cannon and leave a hole, the building doesn't almost immediately completely crumble but instead stays there with a chunk of it blown off and debris laying on the street below it. If they need to make the chunks bigger and less numerous to unstress the system, fine, I'll take that over the current implementation any time.

That'll only get you 60%. There's 4 classes and 5 difficulties, so a run of a single difficulty is worth 5%. Hard counts as 3 so it's 15% per class.
From the sounds of it, 100% requires 12 playthroughs minimum, which is at least better than EDF 4.1

I found that bothering to aim at red drones and drones in general with cannons is a waste of time just spear the fuck out of them when they get close and shoot them with your shotgun when theyre at range so they cant aim at you well

However, comparing hand cannons to battle cannons with maxed stats its easy to see that HCs have more DPS and far more than sufficient range and velocity to hit whatever they need to hit. Only after the DLC hits will the Rage Cannon be better on paper without counting the fact that HCs are innately more flexible against massed groups of weak enemies.
