After 15 years of owning a copy, picking it up and putting it down multiple times, I finally finished Silent Hill 2 today. Please join me in celebration as we discuss the pinnacle of psychological horror in video gaming Questions apply to the entire series not just 2.
What's your favorite ending?
Who's your favorite character?
Favorite in game joke (ending, weapon, costume etc.)
What was the last one you played?
Favorite game in the original 4 and favorite of the post team silent titles?
I got the "In Water" ending and it seemed fitting though what I love most about the game is the ambiguity and space it leaves to draw your own conclusions. Truly a masterpiece.
Wait what? You had such low interest in SH2 that it took you 15 years to finish it and then say it's the pinnacle of horror? Feels like you're trying to fit in. You don't HAVE to like it because people say its good if you don't.
Luke Moore
>What's your favorite ending? Alien ending because I got it by accident without ever hearing about it >Who's your favorite character? Heather, but in SH2 it's Maria >Favorite in game joke (ending, weapon, costume etc.) The HD Collection >What was the last one you played? Silent Hill 3 >Favorite game in the original 4 and favorite of the post team silent titles? For me it's Silent Hill 3, but I love all original 4, 4 being the most underappreciated game in the series
After that, Homecoming was fun the first time and pretty much defined what the SH transformation would look like but playing it again is nauseating. Had great boss designo
Exact same for downpour too
Never played the diablo like
Everything else is irrelevant
How rude of you to not as about my favorite song (It's theme of laura)
Game was such a disappointment after the first one. Complete waste of potential, and the story was edgelord Donnie Darko bullshit.
Jack Richardson
I agree, SH3 has better horror visuals and overall creepiness. Also Heather has much more commentaries on anything, making her feel human. The only thing I prefer about SH2 is that it isn't about the cult. Religious themes really turn me off.
Dylan Martin
>SH2 is great but I think SH3 is better Why? I feel like every problem with 2 was worse in 3. 2 had a lack of enemy variety, but 3's enemies were just downright annoying a lot of the time. 3's story had a lot of issues with consistency and character development, and it felt like it also had more cinematic sections/deaths which I didn't care for.
Nolan Scott
>The only thing I prefer about SH2 is that it isn't about the cult. Religious themes really turn me off. The cult stuff was mostly just a way to tie everything together but 1 and 3 had more going on to their stories
