Time trials are one of my favorite things about this game and if you want to get better at it that’s my recommendation. It would be nice if you could download other ghosts to see where you lose time compared to world record holders or other people in general. It’s all about track knowledge though you can be good at the game but just suck ass at the track.
I do enjoy this video game, even though it is not Smash Bros., a game that I feel an insatiable compulsion to discuss in four simultaneous threads at once, all day every day, literally 24/7, for that is the only way I can discuss the video game known as Smash Bros.

I loved time trials in the original and I still love it in NF. I wish the coin payout worked differently in that mode though, it sucks to play 1 or 2 hours on the same track and be rewarded 40 coins.

Got any protips or helpful WebMs for Cortex Castle? I feel like my reserves always die out on that track since I need to keep u-turning to make those tight corners and thus don't have enough reserves to maintain USF for a full lap.

ngin labs is the only one in the entire game that's actually hard.
On every track you can bruteforce it by collecting all crates and cruising. N.Gin Labs forces you to do that and also haul ass.

Yeah I always kept running out at the spiders. Now I just pretty much try to squeeze in as many boosts as possible. It would be helpful to have some kind of reserve meter so you know how much you have left at x place

when you get to the courtyard, don't powerslide up either path
instead take the left path, jump off the top, u-turn then powerslide to the right up the slope that leads to the castle wall area instead, slide as far as you can then u-turn, then do another powerslide before you hit the boost pad, and do NOT slide on the hairpin I can't stress this enough, it gives you reserves but it's super risky and inconsistent move to pull, it's super easy to fuck up your angle and accidentally bump a wall, instead jump and u-turn like you did at the courtyard
if you still have reserves once you reach the spiders congrats, you've already won
if you feel like you don't have enough reserves on lap 1 before you hit the STP, take the long way around in the stained glass window area, you'll build enough reserves there to get through the lap even if you had been recently hit

The edge detection is weird with all bumps. The kart kind of sticks to them. In the half pipe it's especially noticeable since it's so sharp. Webm is related, this also works on the humps in Tiny Arena for example, if you stop at the top of them. I'm guessing that's what's killing your speed if you jump too late, so you just slam into the wall. On the other hand bumps also seem to boost your jump, if you do jump at the right time. Bumps are just weird in this game

Keep using them, eventually you just get accustomed to it. But after that it's hard to go back to anything else
Learn how to drift in straight lines. Speed characters have the best drift trajectory once you adapt to it.
just do them on easy, m8, there's no associated trophy/achievement and you have like 5 extra seconds. You can calmly break all boxes and get the platinum thanks to the perfect bonus.

Sewer Speedway can be tough if you have problems taking the shortcut. I found you have much better chance to take it if your kart is facing straight the shortcut the moment you jump.
I used to use him until I started using Speed characters. Don't take the speed pill, it's a one way road. I switched to Isabella earlier when everyone else was Isabella, but it just doesn't feel good anymore

It's a fun time trial track but the layout of the course means that whoever gains that early lead REALLY can't be caught up (mostly due to how boost friendly it is). While 2nd - 4th are beakering and bombing each other, 1st is maintaining that boost to race ahead. It's so common for 1st to finish while everyone else is exiting the pyramid on their third lap!

It's more that it's an incredibly easy track to snowball on for the simple fact that for any half decent player it's difficult to fuck up. Once you get that lead it'd take you fucking up and second place playing perfectly just to catch up, and that only ever happens if the one other autist in the race got fucked by items early on

33 tracks should be the very minimum for a racing game today, we need more. It would be great if you could create your own with a track editor or something. Your 30 characters can be boiled down into 4 characters because of the stats, when I say content, I mean mainly adventure mode. I am sure they could at least squeeze CNK plot here.

because the hitbox on it fucking sucks ass and you need to be at a specific speed. if you use accel characters the shortcut is way fuckign easier, using speed characters is also possible, the other 2 classes are hard as fuck to use in that shortcut. you cant be boosting while you are goign for it as well, you need to be at regular speed and jump at the absolute limit.
the one in polar pass is also kinda hard to reach.
