Are you retarded, user? Not every character takes the same amount of development time. Hero obviously needs more time than most characters because he has four skins and 16 specials. Development for the 4th and 5th characters should be starting by now too, so every character should be released on time.

There's over two months left. Summer lasts until late September. We could get Hero on September 20th and Banjo a week or two before Christmas, and E3 wouldn't have lied.

So you think that 10 months isn't going to be enough time to finish 5 characters and balance all of them? Are you a complete and utter fool? Let's look at things this way. Joker was announced in Dec 2018 and released in Apr 2019. That's 4 months in development, which seems like a long time, but keep in mind, Joker wasn't the only thing being added. Joker came with the entire Stage Creator as well which I can guarantee you took far more of that time than Joker did. Next we have Hero, which is either dropping by the end of the month or sometime next month, though there is evidence pointing towards the former, so that makes about a 3 month difference. Seems like a long time but keep in mind Hero is easily one of the most complicated fighters to develop considering his gimmick of having access to 16 different specials during the course of a match. Add to that there is evidence suggesting he's going to come with at least one new mode (likely Home Run Contest which was datamined) and 3 months seems about the right amount of time for what he brings to the table. Banjo is a pretty straight forward fighter which is going to mean considerably less dev time required and we don't know anything about additional content coming with him so he's likely going to be 2 months, dropping in September. That leaves us with 5 months left to develop 2 more characters and by that point, there isn't going to be much else to add in terms of modes so dev time is going to focus entirely around the character and balance tweaks. It also depends on who the characters are and what their gimmicks are but still, that's a good amount of time to work on them. If you honestly think that's going to lead to a rushed broken character then I don't know what to tell you because that's more than enough time. Also, correct me if I'm wrong but I recall hearing something about the deadline actually being pushed back a few months on top of it all so that gives even more time left if true.

This isn't true. All characters should still be released on time. We're a little over halfway through the Fighters Pass and Hero looks finished while Banjo looks over halfway done. Everything's going to be released on time.
